The Truth About General Nicholas

First day of war. As per the directive, Lucas would lead the main army that would break into the palace after the Brodsway warriors were overwhelmed with the wing troops. Lucas is fine, of course. But the man was worried because Eve was completely alone without anyone's care.

Sister-in-law Lumiere, please forgive me for being weak to your sister's request, her ringis in heart.

Upon entering the palace, it was not impossible for the Nyx Knight to burn down nearly half of the buildings. It just so happened that the snow stopped falling, so that the fire could last longer and even engulf some people who were having bad luck.

Watching all that, there was no pity at all. Instead Lucas again covered his face with a rabbit mask that wore an expression so adorable, in contrast to what he had just done.

Why would Lucas wear a rabbit mask? Because from his knowledge, Eve really likes the animal that one.

"You .. you're their chairman, right?"

At the corner of the stairs, Lucas could see the Prince brandishing a sword at him, but with trembling hands. Very humorous.

Lucas raised his face. A haughty aura of power again managed to cripple Prince Julius without Lucas touching a single bit.

"If the answer is yes, how?" challenge Lucas, enjoying that frightened face with satisfaction.

This is the result of daring to hurt his woman. If Julius hurts once, then Lucas will repay him a thousand times.

"Fuck, what do you want, huh?!"

Without cue —or even without technique at all— Julius attacked first with reddened eyes. Everything's up. Treasures, powers. There is no hope that everything will return to how it was. And all this destruction, all because of the stranger standing in front of him!

"Stupid." As soon as Julius attacked him one way, Lucas only needed to twitch, then elbow the prince's back until he fell down without a fight.

"People like you are princes? No kidding!" Lucas pressed his back to the floor with his feet.

Julius gasps. His breathing almost broke due to the weight of Lucas' burden that is not kidding. This person, was definitely no match for him at all.

"Whoever .. you," his sizzle resigned. Free to fight, their strength was out of balance and his sword had already been thrown far away.

How to survive for Julius, as much as possible he had to run when this person was off guard.

"We've met before, prince. Maybe you forgot?"

In the midst of his fear, Julius tries to rack his brain. True, this man's voice was no stranger to him. They may even know each other. But who? Julius could not think clearly.

"Whoa," he asked curiously.

Lucas chuckles. As soon as Julius looked up at him, he opened his little rabbit mask then smiled widely.

"Hello, since you've been to Sassania, then let me also visit your country, Prince Brodsway."

Julius glares. Between believe it or not, everything really goes beyond his plan. "P-son of Crown Lucas...."

"Now you know who I am. The leader of the Nyx Knights was Crown Prince Sasania. Very interesting, right. All this time you've been asking us for help, not expecting it to come today. The day that we're gonna finish you off one by one."

"But why?!" Julius was hysterical. After that he groaned in pain because Lucas stepped on his hand until it broke.

"What the fuck is 'why'?" Lucas flips his weakened body, then turns to rub Julius' neck.

"This is all the reward of your filthy hand that almost harmed Lady Luvena. And also, I need the throne of Sasania for my little girl. And the condition is to finish you off. Great terms, right?"

"just that?! My petty deed is avenged like this? That's not fair!"

Honestly, Lucas himself is heartbroken. By the time he found out about Brodsway's actions, it was too late.

"Exploit children, sell women on the black market, then secretly take on Sasanian natural and animal wealth in the untapped western forest. Is there any defense from you, prince. Why can Brodsway be so cruel to us?!"

Julius, shed tears. Not because he was sad about his bastard behavior, but because his neck felt numb. He couldn't answer anything, his body couldn't run anywhere anymore. Maybe today is the day of his death.

"Here you go, it's a waste of time to ask the puppet prince." Lucas raised his sword, then slashed at Julius' neck in a single swing.

"Chairman, the king we've got!"

The call from the Eastern Commander distracts Lucas. After staring coldly at the useless prince's corpse once again, he left there with a heart of relief.

Eve, your revenge is avenged.

...----------------...

Eve swept away her dripping sweat. So far nothing bad has happened to him. Brodsway's army was weak, possibly the effect of a long winter, resulting in them lazily practicing the sword. Or maybe exercise, but not too long for fear of hypothermia. With her iron clothes all over her body and her coat decorated, no one knew that Eve was the only woman on the battlefield.

It just so happened that Eve was stationed in the left-wing army. After cutting down her enemy, the girl ran to the front line. Just across the street, he saw Nicholas was fighting with someone who seemed to be an expert in using swords. Their movements were so fast, yet it was nothing to Eve. After all, not suddenly strong, but since the beginning Eve was indeed an expert in using weapons, especially arrows. All this time he looked weak because he did not want all his talents to be known to the Duke of Lumiere or his illegitimate wife. Showing off his talent, is tantamount to helping the enemy find his flaws, right.

And that night, why didn't Eve fight back when Prince Julius wanted to harm her. Because Eve was half drunk. He was weak against wine, and from the beginning everyone knew about it.

"General, beware!"

A call from the other Nyx Knights manages to move Eve to run to protect Nicholas from behind. The sound of iron clashing with each other made the general look back, then smile. She recognized Eve from the sweet fragrance of her perfume.

"I should have protected you, but why is our position reversed now?"

"Focus on your opponent's attack, general," said Eve firmly, "this one, let me take care of it."

"I didn't think you could be this great."

"You look so familiar, don't you?" The man who was the opponent of General Nicholas cut off their conversation. "Lord who's there, I'm sure you won't trust Nicholas again after knowing the truth."

"Whisper!" Nicholas is blinding. His movements, based on anger, could not touch the person at all so he laughed lightly.

Despite being attacked by curiosity, Eve remained silent. He was still focused on dispelling the attacks after the attacks that led to him.

"If your reaction is like this, it means that the master does not know it yet, yes," he sneered again in the midst of Nicholas's disjointed breath.

"Master, let me tell you. Nicholas was actually a close relative of Prince Julius but was found to have betrayed him and was expelled from Brodsway. You're Sasanians, just escapes. If you don't want to be betrayed too, you better not be trusted anymore."

Srak!

After several attempts, Nicholas was finally able to stab the man in the stomach. To shut him up forever. But Nicholas thinks it's all for nothing. Eve knew the truth about herself. And maybe soon, he'll have to find a new place away from Brodsway or Sasania.

"No matter what the past is, I still believe in the general."

The words brought Nicholas up. Eve, a little girl whom she knew was cheerful and friendly, now felt different. The girl looked mature and firm but also looked cruel at the same time. The blood of the enemy was still attached to his sword and armor. If it is true that she will be the new queen of Sasania, then congratulations, Nicholas has fallen to her. Eve and all her advantages, really shine like a beauty queen as well as a goddess of war.

If the one who heard the facts just now was someone else and not Eve, maybe Nicholas wouldn't be here anymore. He must have been expelled.

"Thank you for believing in me, Lady Lumiera," said Nicholas, she had fallen into her charms.
