About Exchanging Bouquets

Xerr closed her eyes, enjoying the sweep of the wind that managed to blow away her hair, giving a sense of calm and peace. From this high distance, he was able to watch Sasania from afar. Lumiere's palace and castle buildings were indeed the largest, but Xerr was sure that the comfort offered by the two places was much different from the mountains he was currently walking in.

Yes, Xerr knew very well because he lived in one of the biggest places.

Forgetting his thoughts just now, Xerr turned around then walked over to a pusara marked with a large, luxuriously carved stone stuck in the ground. The name that was written there,

Royal Majesty, Queen Sophia Roosevelt

"Did my mom feel lonely?" Xerr crouched down, trying to hear Sophia's voice from inside though she knew it was impossible. "I am too."

"Since His Majesty decided to marry another woman and replace the position of the mother in his heart, the palace seemed no longer home to me," he said with a faint smile, "especially after knowing that His Majesty would still make me his successor, guilt always occupied me to Prince Felix. All this time he was the one who was made into a collision, occupying a pseudo position named crown prince so that the enemies are fooled and only think of ways to kill him, then forget about other princes, especially me. In any case, he was more entitled to the throne. Right, right, mom?"

"Therefore, if your mother wants to get angry every time she finds out I ran away from the palace, keep in mind the reason I just had. All my actions .. there must be a reason." Xerr looked up, watching the sunlight trying to break through every gap of maple leaves to reach the ground. "I just want His Majesty to hate me for being considered negligent, then my supporters will turn to supporting other more competent princes. That way, I can live peacefully here, with you. Without having to figure out how to survive tomorrow and beyond."

"The last. Happy birthday." Xerr excitedly opened the bouquet box she had just bought. Long ago what he remembered, at the funeral of the queen, people gave a lot of carnations. Xerr did not know what Sophia's favorite flower was so that until now she still followed the custom at the funeral; handed over the white carnation flowers.

Different from his expectations, Xerr's wide smile suddenly receded after seeing the contents of the box turned out to be different from the flowers he ordered. A bouquet of pretty pink and white flowers, definitely not her order flowers. Then what is this, is the order exchanged?

"Tulip flowers?" Xerr took out the bouquet of flowers from inside the box with a confused feeling. "Obviously I ordered white carnations—"

Xerr's memory goes back to a few hours ago when she ordered flowers at Madam Fiona's store. Those blue eyes! Unmistakably, their order flower bouquet was most likely already swapped out!

"God seems to support me, mother. Now I have a reason to break into the Lumiere gate." Xerr giggled. He put the fresh tulip back in the box and stood up. For the last time, he rubbed the top of the mother's belly button.

"Until now, I will love you."

Brak!

Declan did not bother to look up. He knew very well who was the one who could behave so bravely towards him who was clearly a formal heir. Rai seems to want to ban Eve from entering because previously it was not allowed. But with a movement of his hand, Declan understood this and told Rai to close the door again.

"It turns out you did want to kill me, yeah." Eve squinted, staring dislikes. In both hands she carried a box of flowers that were still neatly covered. "What a deal!"

"When living in the village, I always taught my mother about the meaning of all kinds of flowers so that in the future there will never be misunderstandings," Eve bursts again fiercely, "including the meaning of that white carnation flower you gave me, you don't think I know?!"

"Carnation flowers?"

"It!" Eve opened the box. Inside there is a carnation flower arrangement arranged in such a way complete with white brocade cloth as additional decoration on the stalk. "Flower carnation means mourning. Wanna pray for me to die soon, will you?"

"I didn't order this flower, Eve."

"No ordering? Then what about this?" reply Eve again while thrusting the flower accompanied by a feeling of annoyance.

"I ordered tulips for you, not carnations." Declan sighed then pinched his throbbing forehead. Maybe the carnation flowers came to coincide with his joke yesterday. Now he really looks like he wants to kill his own brother. "Our conversation yesterday on the train. I won't punish you by hurting you let alone killing."

Eve pensive. Oh, so Declan was just kidding yesterday? But really, his expression looked the same as when talking seriously, flat without any accompanying laughter. Is that as bad as her brother's humor to the point that it can't be detected when he's about to throw a joke?

"J-so whose bouquet is this?"

Declan shrugged both shoulders. "Come," he replied of origin. Pulling gently into Eve's palm, she invited her little sister to sit on a black sofa located in the middle of her study.

"Causing you to misunderstand so far, it looks like the florist wants to go bankrupt." Although it sounds so terrible, in fact Declan said it with a tone that is fairly relaxed. He rolled up the sleeves of his formal attire, displaying the burly arms filled with veins typical of adult men who diligently exercise. Eve only realized that her brother could be this cool. It is fitting that women out there fight for each other's position as Declan's companion even though until now it is not clear to whom Declan will give the most profitable position.

"How much sugar rock do you like?"

"Three points," replied Eve who felt a little embarrassed because she had accused Declan of not-no. Especially after knowing Declan plans to give tulips — symbolizes perfect affection—, somehow Eve feels her existence is very appreciated here. "Em, why don't you just ask the waiter to get us some tea?"

"Doing something easy like this is more fun if done alone without the help of others." Declan deftly poured warm water inside each cup, creating small splashes that jumped at each other and warm steam that airs far away. "If it looks small, but believe me that what you are doing right now might be useful someday. It can be useful in difficult moments ...," Declan said while watching Eve who was still listening to her words.

"Or it could be useful when your life is almost taken by someone else," he said again, "we never know what will happen in a few hours or even a few minutes later, right."

Eve goosebumps. I don't know since when their chatter sounded more terrible than telling a ghost. Eve understood where Declan was going. "How many times have you been nearly poisoned by the waiters who prepared drinks for you, Declan?"

"Five times," Declan replied with a glaring look. "And the last murder attempt killed Aunt Dania, my nanny since my mother left me that day."
