Suddenly Nobles

Suddenly Nobles
The Third Brother Hates Him

Eve could not stop clucking in admiration after she successfully entered Lumiere castle. Unique relief sculpture dominated by copper color further strengthens the nuances of this family's power. Really look brave. A dozen—even more neatly arranged servants welcome the arrival of her who is now treated like a princess of the king.

Are their treatments really sincere? I don't know, for now Eve is still not used to a noble life that is partly full of lies. Despite living in the village, Eve is always surrounded by friendly people and what it is without any falsehoods. If you hate, you hate. No one pretends to be good in front but blasphemous in the back.

Frederick, the man in his fifties looked down respectfully as Eve walked in front of him. Although there was no smile gesture on her lips, Eve knew that this old man was a friendly person if classified into the Lumiere family.

"Welcome, My Lady. I'm Frederick Annklack. The butler who will be willing to help you whenever you get into trouble."

Eve blinked, feeling awkward with this very, very formal situation. "Eum, yeah. Thank you Mr. Frederick. I'll—"

"One, a noble never thanked his subordinates."

Eve looked up in shock as another voice boldly interrupted her conversation with the friendly old Frederick. His eyes narrowed, looking dejectedly at the man who had a look almost exactly the same as himself was standing on one of the steps of the stairs. It was only the color of the eyes and hair, whereas that haughty and cold expression was completely different from Eve.

"How dare you cut pem—"

"Secondly, the nobleman does not call the person whose position is under him 'Master', just call his name. That's enough for a waiter."

Eve glared in disbelief. Although Frederick was only a servant, but the man was clearly older than them. Margaret always taught herself to respect anyone even with Aunt Sese who was not the most annoying. Then why did the education of ordinary people with nobles turn out so differently?

"Lord, is it good to cut off the talk of such a person?" cynical Eve without having to bother covering up her frustration, "Ah, yes. You are a noble. I forget. Noble, right, never wrong."

"It seems you're very sensitive to nobles."

"People like you were the first to be rude to us. Uncle Johan often complains of higher land taxes every year due to your arbitrary attitude. With such high taxes, do you think we can get money like we can get water from rain?!"

Declan. "Darguably, you're not a part of them anymore. From now on, you are a noble. Nobles Lumiere, not ordinary people. And what was that, taxes were too high?" Declan chuckled coldly, "if there is a lot of protest, make and build your own country so that you know what expenses each region must carry. Taxes are not stifling, tax collection is now directed towards the upper middle class. You should know that."

"Of that, it's up to you. But don't expect our conversation to be over, next time it'll be back to me." Eve brushed off the air, refusing to talk to this person. Did he not know that his words could not be understood by Eve? Wait until Eve manages to adapt here and she will make the arrogant man gap wide. "I'm tired. Excuse me gentlemen, let me rest first."

"Who likes to argue with you" whispered Beckett who was already standing not far from him. "Go away. Seeing you here alone makes me dizzy!"

"You think I like seeing you?" reply Eve defiantly, "having a face that looks like cake dough alone is proud to be exorbitant!"

"What's? Repeat your words?!"

"Your face looks like cake dough. Why, don't you take it?!"

"You—"

"Aish, that's it, why are you guys fighting." Ethan massages his pulsating head. "What's your name?"

"Have forgotten your own name? I'm Beckett!"

"Not you, stupid." Ethan's surprised. Beckett is really. "That's. The new woman came. What's yourname?"

Ethan throbs. "Your room is on the second floor on the right. Shall I take you?"

"no need. I'd rather be ushered in by Mr. Frederick" Eve said as she held her chin high, "yes, Mr. Frederick. Let's leave them as chatty as these mothers."

Frederick could feel a cold aura surrounding him. The cold aura had indeed become a natural thing in the Lumiere family actually. But this time it was cold which he meant differently. Like ... a thick aura of hostility. If left for a long time, Frederick was not surprised if there was a civil war in the castle Lumiere.

Declan stared flatly at Eve's departure assisted by Frederick while occasionally being seen the two throwing small talk. He decided to turn around, before Beckett's call caught his eye.

"You remember that girl, we met her, right?"

Declan tries to remember but he forgets. His work plus meeting Eve earlier might not be something he could consider important. Shaken faintly, the man decided to return to his study before lunchtime began.

"Declan, I saw it for myself. It was he who stole your pouch that Ethan hung on his horse."

"So she?!"

Declan's move stopped. "Where have we met him?"

"The Shop de Albama" said Beckett, "the woman who sat in Ethan's chair and fought us, do you remember?"

Aha, Declan remembered. Yeah, the shameless woman they met the other day turned out to be Eve.

"The thief ... his face is really similar to Declan's, but his attitude and behavior are not at all," Ethan said annoyedly, "it just so happens that he will stay here. I have to teach him a lesson."

"Alright, Ethan. I don't want that thing anymore."

"Why?"

"It's ugly. It's worth throwing away."

Ethan remained silent. He understands Declan. The man who can not speak his heart fully is often throwing words that are far different from his will. Without Declan asking, Ethan knows what he has to do.

"I'll talk to Luvena." Declan immediately threw a sharp look at him. "There was no anger or torture, just asking questions on a few things. Please don't glare, your treatment is overrated!"

"Please. But don't make him uncomfortable, okay?"

"Why indeed?"

Ethan's tongue is too big to tell the truth. A second later he snorted and then turned around. Continue as before Eve's arrival.

But in the end, Declan said the opposite to his heart.

"He will bring peace between Sasania and Brodsway. That'sthat's all. If he gets uncomfortable and runs away, you two are the first people I'll blame."
