Suddenly Nobles

Suddenly Nobles
Cone and Miss Proud

"Eve, I told you not to sit here."

Slowly Eve opened her eyes and yawned widely. The situation was still as crowded as the last time he remembered. In front of him, Garlein was already standing anxiously with two packs of ready-to-eat food in his hands.

"Hurry away before they come."

Garlein pulled Eve's hand towards the exit of the shop. When she saw the sun was over her head, Eve realized that it was already noon.

"They're who?"

"Lumiere Nobles. Better not make trouble with them."

Eve nodded in a sign of understanding.

"I've met them. Just argued for a while and I don't think they're as good as you're talking."

"Arguing ap—APA, WITH WHOM? WHAT DO YOU MEAN THOSE NOBLES?!"

Realizing the gazes people were pointing at them, Eve hurriedly hit Garlein on the shoulder. "Don't scream like that, you idiot. Just be ashamed."

"It's better to be embarrassing than to have a problem-seeker like you, Eve," Garlein said in frustration. "May they not take seriously the cruel words you have told them."

"Well, actually I don't really care if they take it seriously or not."

"What—HOW?!"

"But I think they care. I don't know, it's probably just my feeling. But one of them was so angry that his eyeball almost popped out from glaring," Eve replied lightly. "By the way, you're weird today. Why suddenly become a coward like this? You're usually the one who takes me on troublemakers."

"Not scared, I'm just worried about something. Troublemaking is permissible, but don't let it seep into them." Garlein restores her brown hair.

"What are you worried about?"

"Knowing to know? I just don't want you to feel the same anxiety as me."

"Here you go, just say it."

"The Duke of Lumiere is having a huge influence on our land, Eve. Don't you know that?" Garlein looked at Eve seriously. "And now you've offended one of his sons. What do you think is going to happen?"

"Hm, pretty bad." Eve used a thinking pose. "But they don't know, right, what village are we from? There should be nothing to fear."

"We? Only you. I don't have a problem with them, okay?" errat Garlein was upset.

"Yes-yes, it's up to you, timid master," Eve sneered casually. "Rather than discussing Lumiere-Lumiere's family, we better play to get the doll."

Eve points to a teddy bear as big as herself offered by the seller across the street. The way to play is pretty easy. They just need to insert the plate that has been hollowed out in the middle into the sticks that stand in front there. If no target misses, the giant teddy bear can be taken home.

Garlein resigned himself as his hand was dragged to the spot. Besides them, many others came to try. Garlein took out a number of bronze pieces from his pocket and exchanged the money for several hollowed discs.

"Garlein, let me play."

"Are you sure?" Garlein handed over the dishes hesitantly, "Once we lose, that doll of your wish we won't be able to get."

"Ck, you're just getting to know me." Eve took one of the discs with confidence. His left eye was closed, trying to focus with just one eye. His hand swung forward, and then ....

Entering perfectly!

"How, still underestimating me?" ask Eve with a proud laugh then take the next plate. This time the stick standing in front of it was placed further away and was in the corner. It is quite difficult if done by a beginner like Garlein.

Eve's? Oh, naw. He's not a rookie anymore in this.

Without doing anything as he had done before, Eve threw the object lightly. Garlein who watched it made a stomachache. Oh, my God, that one almost failed but thank goodness it got into the right stick.

Other visitors slowly forget about their game and begin to shroud Eve who is busy playing. Actually getting a teddy bear as big as a human is quite impossible. It is very difficult especially if the more leveled up, the challenge becomes more complicated.

And Eve is now at the last level. There was only one plate left in his hand.

The stick as far as — is roughly— six steps from where Eve stands it appears to move left and right. Sometimes the stiknya drown, then reappear on the surface like a dolphin while swimming.

"Miss, I'm warning you. If this time fails, the doll will not get—"

"What-what?" the salesman looked confused, "How come?!"

"As per the deal, mr. seller." Eve glanced flirtatiously at her favorite doll. "The doll is mine."

"Well, he's great!"

"Hasn't that doll ever been found?"

"The seller is actually a fraud! But the lady tricked him back. It's so awesome!"

"Woman from the village, huh? Well, isn't that wrong?"

Her face flushed. Instead of arguing, the seller finally gave his large doll with a heavy heart. Ah, nevermind. After all, she had made a lot of profit before the village girl managed to conquer the death plate.

"Yep, Garlein. We got it!" Eve cheered happily while carrying the huge teddy bear with great difficulty.

Garlein smiled warmly. "Congratulations. I didn't think you could get it."

"Thanks to learning archery every day." Eve gnashing funny. "When you go into town again, don't forget to take me. Yea?"

"Sure, my princess," said Garlein who was greeted with a light laugh by the two.

They went back to walk in the market. Garlein repeatedly wanted to provide assistance to bring the large doll but Eve always refused. From the opposite direction not far away from them, Garlein saw a woman who seemed to be a noble class lady arrogantly taking a path in the middle. So unintentionally, his arms collide with Eve so that the girl loses balance.

Eve is not weak. He was just not alert until he easily sat on the sandy soil. Even with the big doll that now looks dirty.

Ignoring Garlein's helping hand, Eve hurriedly moved. Grabbing his doll back, his blue eyes were now glistening sharply.

"Miss, what do you mean?"

"You hit me first." The pink-clothed woman scanned Eve from head to toe. "Ah, the boy from the village. It's just fine not to have manners."

"Everyone here also knows that you were the one who suddenly came and deliberately bumped into me until you fell. You fox woman, her own faults are not acknowledged!"

"Don't you know who you're dealing with?" The noble lady with the thick makeup looked wrathful. But Eve insists once again, she is not afraid of anything. "I am the third daughter of Viscount Demian!"

"I don't know and don't want to know. You're so out of work that you want to hurt someone else, right? Now apologize," Eve said loudly. The aura looks different to Eve a few minutes ago. "Sorry now or ...."

"Or what?" the nobleman was challenging.

"Or I'll report this to the Duke of Lumiere!"

People were once again shocked by his statement. Who was that blond girl until she got to know the Duke of Lumiere? Dare to call that name like a close person? Woah, his life is really unpredictable.

Hearing the whispers of admiration certainly dampened the courage of the young noble lady. He bowed, clenched his glove-covered hand and looked up again.

"Just look at you!" he answered sharply before turning around and leaving with his female servant who from the beginning had only dared to stand lowered in the back.

Garlein who had been silent since then could only swallow his saliva with difficulty. Before the problem got bigger, the man pulled Eve's arm out of there and stopped while in a narrow alley without anyone being able to see them.

"What are you doing? Why are you even dragging the Duke of Lumiere's name into your troubles?!"

"There's no other name in my brain." Eve replied with an amused grin. "So his name is very powerful. That woman is gone, but she hasn't apologized to me for dropping Cone."

"Cone?"

"It!" Eve thrust her big bear without a burden. It was as if this was just a nightmare in broad daylight. "That's it. Don't remember it again. Now come on, let's get back to the train. Uncle and aunt must have been waiting."

Garlein could only shake his head with the girl's mannerisms casually passing through. Eve's mood is hard to guess. His face always had a sweet smile everywhere he was. Garlein did not know how Eve was when the girl was angry, sad, or crying. Garlein doesn't know. Eve is friendly but also closed at the same time. Making friends over ten years with him has yet to make Garlein truly understand Eve completely.

"Lein, why daydream? Come here!"

Garlein jerks. Then his smile expanded along with his wide footsteps brought himself back to walk side by side with Eve the girl who did not have a sense of sensitivity.

Well, feelings are hard to handle. Moreover, if the opposite sex is someone who has indeed earned a special place in the heart since the beginning of meeting.
