Declan's steps seemed rushed with his facial line that looks hardened. He met Beckett. The blond man as boat greeted him but to just look around Declan was reluctant to do it. Not important. The goal now is the father's lounge. Due to going out of town, where Zachary often spent time was now filled only by his right hand, the old Baron O'Neil. Including one who knows a lot about the castle after Frederick.
"Baron O'Neil, I want to talk."
The old man who initially seemed busy with some dossier of the Duke of Lumiere suddenly looked up. A thin smile was imprinted on his wrinkled face. He gave up the job, then took Declan to sit down. "Did something happen? Please, My Lord."
Declan took his place across from Baron O'Neil. His gaze was so sharp, so unsheathed as if preparing to stab his interlocutor.
"Tell me the truth. My mother, where do you live now?"
Baron O'Neil was silent. Seen his throat trying to swallow saliva with difficulty. "What do you mean. Of course Her Grace lives in Earl Averish's mansion with his other family."
"But from what I've heard, the truth isn't like that."
Baron O'Neil frowned, "Who did you hear it from? Don't be quick to believe the obscure news out there, My Lord. Your trust could jeopardize the Lumiere dynasty for the foreseeable future."
"If it's true that the news is a lie, can you prove it, Baron?" Declan smiled miris. For decades, he felt he had been lied to so much. "Let me alone go to Earl Averish's mansion to make sure of that. If my mom wasn't there, your head would be the bet."
"Have you forgotten, that the duke would not hesitate to hurt the former duchess if you dared to meet her?" Instead of feeling threatened, Baron O'Neil actually smiled obliquely. "And besides, I'm a duke. As powerful as you want to kill, the duke will not give you permission. He won't let me just die."
"I'll do it myself. Without the duke's help, it just feels easier." Declan replies and he stands up from his seat. His cruel face was completely cold without mercy. It looks like what Declan just said has great potential to do so inevitably make the hair of Baron O'Neil bristles.
Before reaching the door, Declan turned his head again, "Ah, yes. Also tell your duke that his heir is trying to rebel and wants to kill his confidant. Holy Baron O'Neil, that's, right, what you're going to report to him?"
Without hearing the baron's reply, Declan left the place still with resentment peaking in his chest. Fucking family. Having learned the fact that Margaret was actually not living comfortably in the Averish mansion, it really made Declan want to kill those who had been great in theatrics to deceive her.
The result of the duke's lies, which say the reason Margaret returned to her family was because she wanted to live freely without the burden of the family had made Declan so hated her mother. From Zachary's story, Margaret is portrayed as a selfish mother. Loving only his daughter and leaving his father and himself as the eldest son. For a dozen years he lied to his father. A dozen years, record it.
"What's going on, Declan?"
Declan looked quickly to the right. Next to the statue of Zeus, Ethan stood there with a solemn expression.
"Have you just been eavesdropping?"
"I came just a few seconds ago" replied Ethan, who did not accept the charges against him, "just surprised you suddenly came out of His Grace's room when she wasn't here."
"I went to Baron O'Neil, to discuss a few things."
"It turns out so." Ethan agreed. He was actually also less interested in getting involved in Declan's problems which he judged too much. "Your sister thinks I'm you. He said a lot of things that I think are .. interesting for you to know."
A sister? Oh, aye. Eve.
"I'm sure, anything?"
Ethan glanced at him. Just glancing. But Ethan was right off the bat. The sentence he almost threw out was swallowed back round and round.
"No, forget it. You better see for yourself how unique our sister is."
"He's my brother."
"We're one dad, right?"
Declan sighed. Whatever.
"So does he already know which 'Declan' is the real one?"
Ethan grinned, "Not yet" he answered honestly. "I still want to play with him. If you look around, Eve is sweet too. Too bad he's ferocious enough to be the size of a woman."
Declan is lazy to respond to Ethan's babble that always follows him down to the first floor. The topic of discussion is just that. About Eve and Eve. Really makes Declan sultry like no other talk. Though there are still many other problems that are more useful to discuss. Just for information, Declan's time is not that much just to talk about people around them.
Weary. Finally Declan turned around with an annoyed expression. "Ethan, get some rest in the room. Looks like you've been hanging out with that girl for too long until your mind just says something about her."
"He, you just haven't spoken to him yet. Eve it was so much fun, not as bad as we thought. I dare guarantee you."
See, that sparkling expression on Ethan's face was very disturbing to Declan. What the fuck!
"Hey, you must be Ethan, right. I saw you when I just got here. Greetings to my father's handsome brother. In the future, please teach me a lot about our family, huh?" said Eve percussion.
Suddenly he was here. I mean, since when?!
The Declan— Eve thought was Ethan— rounding her eyes. It felt like the attitude Eve had seen this morning was not like this. He thought Eve was mediocre, unable to be as sweet as a child who wanted to ask for candy.
Ah, there he is. Does Eve have any meaning to her attitude now?
In return for Eve's greeting, Declan snorted and turned away. His red robe that dangled downwards was blurred along with his increasingly distant steps. Ethan smiled poorly but he could do nothing.
"I'm sorry De— I mean Ethan. He's a cold guy."
"No problem. Perhaps big brother is busy," Eve replied calculatingly. At least to strengthen his influence in this castle, Lumiere's three sons had to be on his side.
Seeing Declan's shadow slowly drifting away, Eve grew more curious about the figure of the man with a similar face to her. Of the three, he was the one who looked the most powerful. Eve suspects that the man is named Declan. But until now Eve has not had evidence that the man came from the same father and mother as her.
