The King Who Cannot Be Understood

"Aahaha! So this is my most beautiful niece?"

The king's laughter echoes when Declan and Eve enter a spacious room with dozens of chairs that have been arranged. At the end of the table, Eve saw the brown-blasted man have a face similar to that of the Duke of Lumiere. It just so happened that the father who coldly exceeded the ice cubes was already sitting beside the middle-aged man whom he had expected was the reigning king here.

Although they have a similar appearance, the expressions of the two are much different. If the Duke of Lumiere always issued a sharp and cynical gaze, another case with the middle-aged man who always smiled warmly even long before Eve came.

After being invited to sit with a chair next to Declan, Eve finally answered the king's words.

"I am certainly the most beautiful. All my brothers, Your Majesty," said Eve lightly with a tone of speech as if she had known the Sasanian leader since he was born into the world. Hearing that, Declan elbowed him. So did Zachary who gave a warning look from behind the cup he drank.

Hudson laughed again. "I didn't think there was one of my nieces to talk to." The king turned towards his brother, Zachary. "Isn't that right, Duke of Lumiere? Your son can be even stiffer than you," he said, glancing at Declan.

Zachary berdehem's. "Let's just say this stiff attitude we have is a way of survival. So that we are not easily consumed with the attitude of licking others."

"Is that so?" Hudson looked at the smile. He turned his gaze back to Eve with a twinkle of interest that was so clearly visible behind his two bright eyes. "So introduce yourself to me."

Eve stood up, producing a subtle creaking sound that resulted from her chair being pushed back. Just like before, Eve lowered her head by pulling the edges of her dress up. "Your Majesty, I am Lady Luvena Lumiera, the only daughter of the Lumiere family who feels very lucky to have been able to meet you in person."

Hudson didn't bother to cover up his excitement. "The manners that Lady Luvena has are already very good. I don't think it's gonna take a year, we can send him to Brodsway. What do you think, Duke of Lumiere?"

Hearing that, Declan who wanted to drink his tea suddenly choked. With a swift Eve patted his shoulder so Declan felt better. From the interaction of the two, Hudson could deduce something; their relationship as brothers was really good.

"No. As agreed. If it's a year, it'll be a year." Zachary answered him steadily. "In Brodsway tradition, Lady Luvena's age is not enough for a wedding. Please Your Majesty be patient in a moment."

Hudson looked mangosteen. "Right as well" he said after thinking for a while. "Alright, looks like we've had enough of Lady Luvena's matchmaking discussion to get here. Now I want to introduce my sons to you, Lady."

Eve looked at him in wonder, "Sons?"

"Actually in a palace of this size, not a single princess lived. There are only a dozen princes." Hudson smiled softly again. Then he pointed at a man who looked quite old who was sitting to his left. The man who had not made a sound since, only listened to his father's conversation with the new family member Lumiere. "This is Crown Prince Felix Roosevelt. The main candidate who will continue my throne and lead Sasania forward. And ...."

"Sorry, I'm late." The new Prince Clainton was seen standing at the door grimacing softly. Ah, if it wasn't for Lucas, he wouldn't be late.

"No problem, please sit down," the king replied casually. "Well, Lady Luvena. He's Prince Clainton Roosevelt, my second son."

"It's nice to be officially acquainted with you, Lady," he said.

"Lord Lumiero introduced me to his brother a while ago" replied Prince Clainton to the king's question.

"Hopefully you can get along quickly. I'm happy that our extended family can always come together in this warm atmosphere" Hudson added.

Warm? Eve doesn't feel. There was still ice around them. His father of course.

Ah, or the warm atmosphere that nobles mean and the warm atmosphere that ordinary people feel is different? Honestly, Eve was more pleased with the warm atmosphere in the village during the new year festival, which is when decorating the village together. There is no such thing as classifying people by status. All of them work together and enjoy the results of the hard work when the clock shows twelve o'clock at night right.

"Where is Prince Lucas?"

The heavy baritone, who came from the number one man in Sasania, managed to pull Eve out of her short daydream.

"I'm sorry, Your Majesty. I've looked for him everywhere but Prince Lucas is nowhere to be found." Prince Clainton who happened to be sitting right in front of Eve could only sigh. "It's likely that he's not at the palace."

"The kid ran away again?" Beo Hudson was shocked. "We have a special guest here. Was he not told?"

The room containing five men and one woman was suddenly quiet.

"I told you, Duke of Lumiere. Ban Prince Lucas from hanging out with Beckett. That kid's a bad influence on my son."

Eve shakes herself. Does King Hudson have bipolar disorder? A few seconds ago his mood looked very good—even always spread a friendly smile. Now in an instant the man's hospitality vanished without a trace and instead blamed Beckett. Uh, wait. Right, at this meeting Eve saw neither Ethan nor Beckett. There's only Declan and him. What does that mean....

Zachary who looked unperturbed at all with the king's thorny speech nodded faintly. "Lately Prince Lucas hasn't stopped by my castle again, Your Majesty. Looks like he went somewhere else."

"Yes. He might go somewhere else. But keep in mind, who taught him to be the dissident he is today?" The king snorted, "all of this was caused by the son of the whore. Those two sons were indeed unfit to be in the same room as me."

The king hates Ethan and Beckett.

"But they are both my sons, Your Majesty," Zachary replied softly.

"Before it was yours, her mother was a free woman, right? Even today you still give freedom by allowing the prostitute to go to the west when she has no clear purpose to go there." said Hudson then stood up. "You can't really tell if they're your flesh and blood. Because I'm sure you're not the only man for that woman."
