Plan For The Banquet Night

"Eve has finally been found!" Beckett exclaimed in excitement. His eyes then catch the presence of the father who catches Eve's body from a height. "Yes, Your Grace."

"I'm sorry then." Eve pushed her father's chest down in a hurry. His face clearly displayed annoyance, in contrast to the duke who was precisely chuckling triumphantly. But Beckett's not his name if not curious. After saying goodbye and apologizing for Eve's arbitrary actions, the blonde man by boat finally caught up with the girl who was now being bullied.

"After I overlap, he should have broken a bone. Or at least, his waist hurt. Why is he so strong?" muttered Eve along the hallway.

"Geev!"

Eve didn't bother to turn her head when Beckett was already walking side by side with her. "What happened, are you sick. Or something's bothering you, just say it!"

"Nothing happened." Eve placed both her folded hands right in front of her chest. "Why lookin' for me?"

"Your servants are making a fuss because you're suddenly missing from the room" Beckett murmured as he propped his arm around Eve's shoulder. It is obvious that the two are very familiar. "Know you're sitting on Lady Britney's tree."

Eve frowned, "Whose tree?"

"Tree belongs to Lady Britney," Beckett repeated casually. From the way she calls her mother, Eve knows that Beckett is not so close to the new duchess. "The tree was planted at his command several years ago. Who would have thought that it grew so fast."

"His Grace told me to get down from there. Oh, it turns out the tree was his wife's favorite, yeah."

Beckett grimaced badly. "Maybe it's not so. His Grace could be worried you're falling, right."

"He's not that kind of person."

"We never know." Beckett returned a quick reply as he recalled one thing. "Eh, Eve. Do you know if we'll be invited to the palace?"

"Oh yeah? I just found out." Eve answered him indifferently, "When is it?"

"Tonight!" enthusiastic follow. "What dress will you wear. As the only princess, you must look beautiful to the fullest. If necessary, make Prince Clainton Roosevelt cancel his engagement to Marquess Alger's daughter, haha!"

Eve seemed interested. If she could hook the prince here, perhaps she would not have to bother to marry the prince from Brodsway. He would settle in Sasania and could meet with Margaret at any time.

"Is he handsome?" ask Eve curiously. No, Eve is not a typical handsome male lover. It's just that he .. wanted to know a little.

"Of course."

"The money must be a lot, right." he asked again as he winked his bright blue eyes.

"of course. He is the second son of the king."

"How old is he?"

"Maybe near your mother's age."

"You're telling me to approach a man whose age is almost the same as my mother's?" Once again, a ferocious punch struck Beckett's shoulder. Honey, that blow was nothing to him who had a much bigger body. "Shut up or I'll hit you again!"

"O-okay, I quit." Beckett wiped the remains of tears that perched in the corner of his eyes still accompanied by the remains of laughter that had not subsided. "If not Prince Clainton, what about Prince Lucas. She's very—"

"That's enough. For now I don't want to deal with men." Eve carried her foot faster back to her room. "There are still many important things. Now, you better help me."

"Help what?"

"Please pick a dress for me tonight, will you?"

"Choosing dresses?" Beckett followed Eve until they entered the princess's white room. Unfortunately there were very few servants there. All Beckett saw was Mia who had waited patiently.

Eve turned to her personal servant. Unlike most noblewomen, Eve looked at the different caste woman with him respectfully. After all, Mia was still older than him. "Is my dress for tonight ready?"

"That's it, My Lady. Please choose what you like." Mia ordered the other servants to bring the dresses in. Among them has a dark blue color with brocade cloth on the chest. Then there was a plain blood red dress, and a yellow dress with elaborate lace on the bottom.

"What do you think, Beckett. Very pretty, right?" Eve smiled gently as she touched the surface of the blood red dress. "Maybe I'll wear this one."

Beckett. Unbeknownst to Eve, both of her hands clenched tightly. She knew very well who those dresses belonged to before. Her mother, Lady Britney, never wore the same dress for the second time.

Beckett turned to his sister's personal servant. "Aren't you guys buying a new dress? Or was the money given by His Grace lacking to the point of having Lady Luvena wear this dress? Replace it!"

Mia gave no look of pity at all. "Sorry, My Lord. Regarding this dress, His Grace herself told Lady Luvena to wear it. If he's not willing, then we're the ones who'll be affected." The waiter's answer certainly made Beckett boil. "Please sir don't complicate things. Besides, in a few hours you should be gone."

"Know what are you?!" Beckett looked at him more and more cynically. He pulls Eve's hand, trying to get her out of there. "Eve, come with me. Instead of those fucking dresses, we better buy a new one with my money."

"It's not so, Beckett." Eve tried to let go of her sister's grip. "I don't want anyone to be punished just because of me."

"Then what? You want to be humiliated at the banquet tonight, don't you?" Beckett looked at him furiously. "can't. If you don't want to come with me, I'll talk to His Grace and stop this crazy behavior."

"Beckett, you're so grumpy."

Afterwards, Eve laughed amusedly. Seeing the reaction of his sister who missed relaxed, certainly made Beckett even more furious. "Eve, you—"

"The character of anger will only bring haste in making decisions. The result will end badly, or it could be failure." Eve re-touched the plain dress she was going to wear later tonight. "Try to calm down. That way, you can think clearly to avenge your opponent."

Beckett frowned, "So what's your next plan?"

"Of course by replying to His Grace." Eve smiled widely, her innocent expression was inversely proportional to her thoughts that were filled with plans to reverse her father's behavior.

"Now, I need your help again. In accordance with His Grace's wishes, I will wear this outfit to the banquet later tonight," Eve casually breezed away leaving the flabbergasted Beckett behind.
