Kania was still sitting looking at Tania who was temporarily asleep. Seeing the innocent face of the little girl made Kania smile. "It turns out, we both have the same longing. I miss my mother's embrace that for years I couldn't hold me and you couldn't feel your mother's embrace because God loved her more and took her away from you. Lucky you still have a father who loves you so much, unlike me who has to see my father die in front of me."
His face looked sad, but seeing Tania in front of him, Kania tried to look tough. "I hope you're always happy even without your mother beside you."
Suddenly Tania opened her eyes and her gaze immediately fell on Kania. "Mama." Call the little girl while crawling towards her.
"Are you awake?" The little girl nodded and sat on Kania's lap while rubbing her eyes
"The aunt's gone?" ask the little girl while hugging Kania.
"Tania doesn't have to be afraid anymore, there's Papa." The little girl nodded back and hugged Kania.
Since it was lunchtime, Kania took the little girl to the dining room after cleaning her tiny face in the bathroom.
"Papa." Call Tania when she sees her father walking towards her.
"We're having lunch, yuk." Tania who was already in her father's sling nodded.
At the dinner table, the three of them sat like a family. Kania who was so attentive and painstaking began to feed Tania. Arya just watched them with a smile, because her daughter was seen enjoying her food. In fact, his daughter was very difficult if fed. Bi Suri, even overwhelmed her making. However, in front of Kania, Tania was so obedient that the food on the plate was eaten by her.
"You'd better eat first, let Tania take care of me." Arya then takes her daughter to the living room and leaves Kania for lunch.
Kania then scoops some side dishes on her plate and rushes to the kitchen because Bi Suri is eating there. "I'm eating, huh, Bi?" Kania smiled as she sat down near the middle-aged woman who was eating her lunch.
"Why is Miss eating here? If you look at Mr. Arya, then Bibi can be scolded." The woman looked worried as she occasionally glanced towards the door.
"It's okay, Bi. Besides, Tania's dad is playing Tania in the living room." Kania put the rice in her mouth and started chewing it.
"So, Non found Tania in the mall?" Kania nodded.
"Auntie is not out of thought, why Non Rina can lose Tania in the mall. In fact, Tania is not a bad boy and likes to walk alone. What don't-don't ... "
"Don't do what, Bi. After all, Rina is her aunt. How could his aunt do such a thing to her own nephew." It was Kania who understood the direction of the woman's conversation.
"Bi, did Pak Arya not want to marry again so that his wife will be able to look after and care for Tania?"
Kania's question made her face change. "Mr Arya loves her and she doesn't want to find just any woman to be a wife, because she doesn't want Tania to be hurt by anyone, including her future wife."
Hearing the woman's explanation, Kania understood what Arya was doing and she admired the man's stance.
"Bi, I'm taking Tania, yeah. Soon after night, after he went to sleep, I had to leave this house because my job to look after him was over. I have to go back to my other job."
"Why doesn't Non just work here looking after Tania? It seems, Tania really likes Non."
Kania smiled and did not answer the woman's question. Although in her heart, she did not want to leave Tania and wanted to continue to be near her, but her current situation was not possible because she had to find money for her mother's treatment. Also, he did not want to be seen begging for a job in front of Arya, as he was afraid they would think he was taking advantage of his proximity to Tania.
After the meal, Kania helped Bi Suri to clean the kitchen. Apparently, the girl was quite good at cleaning the house, in fact, Bi Suri was quite satisfied with her work.
Tania who did not see the nearby Kania started to look panicked. The little girl ran to her room to look for Kania, but she could not find him. Holding back a cry, he searched the courtyard, but again he had to be disappointed.
"Tania why are you sad?" Arya approached him while hugging him.
"Which mom, Pa?" tanya Tania who slowly let out tears.
"Mama?" Arya asked back.
"Mama is here." The father and son compactly looked towards the voice and saw Kania walking towards them.
Looking at Kania, the little girl then ran towards him and hugged him. Kania smiled when she saw the little girl clutching her. Gently, Kania stroked his back and invited him to sit in the courtyard. In the spacious garden, Tania played and Kania sat on a bench while watching her.
Arya who saw their closeness apparently did not want to miss. The man then sat down beside Kania who was sitting while watching his daughter. "Thank you, because of you, I can see the smile on my daughter's face again."
Kania smiled and looked at the man. "I want to apologize, because without your consent I let Tania call me mama. I didn't mean it that way, because it was spontaneous. I'm sorry, if it bothers you."
"It doesn't matter to me, after all Tania called you that. It seems I should apologize, for making you uncomfortable."
"Papa loves you too, son." Arya cried because she saw her daughter who turned out to want the presence of a mother. His heart ached because he was unable to realize his daughter's wishes.
Kania who saw them could not help but cry. Really, the scene he was seeing now felt heartbreaking. A child who does not know his mother, innocently calls him mama. A term that makes every woman will feel proud because she can have a baby from her own womb. As for her, she is just a woman who has nothing. A woman who doesn't even deserve love and attention because of her tragic and miserable life.
Kania bowed her face and hid her sadness. She misses her mother so much that she wants to see her soon. He wanted to hug her and hear her name, but it was useless because she was lost in her memory.
Seeing the sadness on Kania's face, Arya could not do anything. Tania, who saw her "mother" crying, slowly approached her and wiped away the tears on Kania's face. "Mom don't cry, if Mama cries, Tania will cry." The tiny hand gently wiped the tears on Kania's cheek. Seeing her, Kania nodded and clasped the tiny body while crying as she pleased.
"Mama loves you," said Kania sincerely, because that is the reality. Kania begins to love the little girl because she sees it, Kania like seeing a reflection of herself who is so expecting a hug from a mother.
It was a day that was both happy and sad for Kania. She was so happy, because for a day, the little girl called her mama and she so enjoyed every moment of their togetherness. And, sadness now struck his heart as he had to leave the little girl. Leaving behind laughter and jokes, cries and tears that had been created in the house. Yes, it was only a day that he felt that happiness and now it was time for him to leave.
On the bed, Kania lay down while hugging Tania who slowly started to close her eyes. The little girl wanted to sleep with him. Kania did not refuse, even happily he complied with her wishes. Every now and then, Kania gently dyed the little girl's forehead while gently stroking her cheeks. It is accompanied by a prayer that the little girl is always happy with someone who loves her sincerely without blemish.
Kania got up from the bed when she saw Tania had fallen asleep. With the restraining of tears, Kania clasped her hands and kissed her. "Mama pray that you will always be happy. Maybe, we won't see each other again because Mama has to go. Only prayer can you pray, may you and your father find happiness." Kania again kissed Tania's forehead and stepped out of the room.
In the living room, Arya looks restless waiting for Kania who has not yet come out of her daughter's room. Somehow, he did not want Kania to leave, but he had no right to keep her.
"Is he asleep?" Arya looked at Kania who was walking towards her with eyes that looked puffy.
"Already, Tania is asleep." Kania replied with a lowered face, as if she did not want to show her sadness in front of the man.
"Do you want to go?" Kania nodded, but her nod was forced.
"Thank you, because today you've made Tania happy." Arya uttered sincerely and Kania simply nodded without a word coming out of her mouth.
For a moment, the atmosphere became silent. They were speechless and only held back the sense they could not express. Kania, as if reluctant to leave, but he still had to leave. While Arya, did not want the woman's departure, but she could not resist because it was time for her to leave.
"I'd better leave before Tania wakes up." Kania then came out in a hurry as if she was afraid her heart would change.
"All right." Arya answered without knowing what else to say. In front of the door, she could only see Kania's departure running slowly while covering her cries.
"Do I have to let him go? Kania, can't you just stay here and be a mother to my son? At least, let my son feel your care and affection, nothing more. That's all I ask." The speech was thrown without him realizing it to make him realize and rushed out of the house and chased after Kania who had disappeared at the end of the road.
Without despair, Arya down the road that looks empty. He had a cell phone in his pocket and was intending to contact the girl, but his intention suddenly collapsed when he saw Kania crying as he pleased in the arms of a man. Suddenly, his heart seemed to be sliced because his dream to make his daughter happy was finally extinct.
With a feeling of disappointment, Arya returned home along the road that still looks empty. His hope of making his daughter happy, had now evaporated and disappeared helplessly. Next to Tania, Arya lay down while hugging her daughter. Looking at the tiny face in front of her, Arya cried and shed tears. "I'm sorry Papa couldn't make you happy. Forgive Papa for not being able to help him stay because he already has someone."
That person is Bastian. Friends who are always there when Kania needs. In Bastian's arms, Kania cries remembering her separation from Tania. Without saying, Bastian just let his best friend cry in his arms.
Before leaving, Kania calls Bastian to pick him up. She was unable to walk alone when her heart was sad. He needs someone to lean on and Bastian is the right person.
"Kania, what's wrong?" bastian asked when his best friend was calm.
"Come, Bas. I feel like I'm losing her."
Bastian's face hinted at a question mark as he did not understand what his best friend was talking about.
"She's the little girl I found in the mall. Last night, I slept at his house, because of my stupidity, I could be there."
Bastian gets more confused, but he doesn't ask and lets Kania explain. "She did not have a mother because her mother died giving birth to her. And you know Bas, he calls me mama." He shed tears when he remembered the little girl.
"Is that why you're crying?"
Kania nodded. "We just met, but she just plainly called me mama. He played, laughed, even cried on my lap and always called me mama. You know, Bas, we both missed a mother and she saw a mother figure inside me, while I ... " Kania was no longer able to say, only visible tears fell on her eyes.
"Here you go, don't cry anymore. I know you're sad, but until when will you keep crying? I'd better take you home."
Kania nodded while wiping away her tears. Before leaving, he still had time to look at the two-story house even though it looked only the wall, it was enough for him.
Now he is back with his life. A difficult and miserable life. He had to go back to work looking for money for his mother's treatment and he felt desperate because all of his efforts were fruitless.
He had to come back disappointed, because what he promised the doctor, he could not keep. That night, he returned with a little money that was far from what he expected and he finally had to make a decision, a decision that could have changed the course of his life.
