In between the sadness that now afflicts his family because of the father who is sick, God still tucked away the happiness that enveloped the small family. Arya is happy because she has expressed her love for Kania. I don't know what has made him have the courage to express his feelings, but the presence of Kania in the middle of his family becomes his own encouragement.
Together with Kania, Arya is preparing some clothes belonging to her father. Not to forget, Kania also prepared some necessary items there.
"Can I call you my wife?" arya asked suddenly while standing beside Kania. His handsome face looked so spoiled in front of Kania.
Seeing him, Kania smiled and nodded. "I love it when you call me that." Suddenly, Arya hugged him, but not for long. Immediately, Arya released her embrace.
"If it were just to hug me, I wouldn't forbid. If it makes you happy, just do it." Kania grabbed her husband's hand and held it tightly. Arya smiled and hugged Kania again. "Come, we better get everything done and get to the hospital." The young man nodded.
While carrying a few bags, Arya and Kania rushed into the room where her father was still lying weak. "How's Dad doing?" arya asked as she placed her carry-on bag on the table.
"Dad's not conscious yet." Ryan looked tired from sitting in the room all day. Seeing his father who was not yet conscious made the young man even more worried. "Sister, are you okay?"
"Calm down, let's just wish Dad all the best." Arya gently patted her sister's shoulder. "Go home and rest. Let your brother and sister-in-law accompany me."
Ryan rubbed his face as if he wanted to throw away the fatigue and fatigue that had been bothering him. "Alright, Brother. I'm going home." Ryan then walked out of the room, but his heart felt disturbed when he saw Kania who seemed indifferent to him.
For now, Ryan desperately needs someone for him to lean on for the problems he is now facing. Looking at Kania, it felt like she wanted to lean back and complain about her heart content towards the girl. "Is this how you felt in the past? I'm sorry because I couldn't be a backseat when you needed me the most." Ryan then left with a guilt that enveloped his heart.
Just as she was walking a few steps, Kania suddenly ran a little towards her and called out her name, "Ryan, come back. I'm sober." Ryan immediately returned to the room and found his father awake. Despite looking pale, the middle-aged man still floated a smile for the boy and his daughter-in-law.
"Thank God, I'm sober." Ryan sobbed while holding his father's hand. Likewise with Arya who was seen shedding tears when she saw Ryan who was crying sob in front of her. Gently, Kania grabbed her husband's hand and held it tightly.
"Don't cry, Dad's okay." Wicaksana looks more resilient. His face seemed to want to say that he was fine.
Shortly after, a doctor entered the room with two nurses. "Well, you guys wait outside for a while because we have to do further checks on the patient."
"Good, doc." Arya grabbed her sister's arm. "Come on, we're out." They then went out and sat down in the front corridor of the room.
Next to Kania, Arya sat down. The man's hand was not a second apart from Kania's hand. As if, he did not want to be left behind by Kania.
"Dok, where's Doctor Fahri?" wicaksana asked the doctor who was examining him.
"Doctor Fahri is out of town. I've contacted him, maybe Doctor Fahri's back tomorrow."
Wicaksana. I don't know what he's thinking now. "Doc, do my children know about my illness?" Wicaksana looks riled up.
"Only your eldest son and son-in-law know. I had to tell them because they kept pushing me. However, they asked me not to tell your youngest son anything."
Wicaksana took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. His face looked tired with a trace of anxiety on his old face. "How am I doing, doc?" Wicaksana looks resigned.
"Well, you get plenty of rest. And my advice, you do chemotherapy. That's also if You are willing because Your disease is getting worse."
"How long am I left, doc?" ask Wicaksana who already looks resigned to his condition.
"We can only predict, but the age of man no one knows. Only God has power over life and death. I'm not going to scare you, but you'd better spend your time with your family. By looking at your family, it might add to your life spirit." The wise-looking doctor was so enthusiastic that he gave her hope. Although he knew the age of his patients was not long, but he was not desperate to give hope to them.
"Then, when can I get out of here?"
"For now, you better be here first. If possible, a few more days you can go out, but remember to rest a lot and think positive and optimistic." Wicaksana nodded with a smile.
"Then, excuse me." The young doctor came out and two nurses were behind him.
Seeing the doctor coming out of his father's room, Ryan rushed in. While Arya and and Kania prefer to see the doctor who handles their father. "How's my dad, doc?"
"I'm sorry that the patient's condition is so bad. It's not that I want to put God's destiny first, but your father's condition may not last long. For a while, the patient was here first because his condition was still weak. After a few days, the patient can go home and my advice, pay a lot of attention to the patient. In times like these, patients are in desperate need of attention from the family. Therefore, give more attention to the patient because it can make his mood improve and it can add to his life." The young doctor patted Arya's shoulder slowly. "I hope you can be patient." The doctor then left.
Hearing the doctor's explanation, Arya could say nothing but tears that suddenly fell. Kania grabbed her hand and held it tightly. "Patience, we'll take care of dad together."
"Remove your tears and we'll meet Dad." Arya wiped her tears. With a firm step, they met the father who was still lying with an old face that was now staring at them.
"I'm sorry, if I've worried you guys."
"No, really, Dad. Don't apologize, I'd better get plenty of rest so I can get back home." Kania clasped his hand and the man smiled. Meanwhile, Arya, trying to smile in front of her father even though she was not able to.
Seeing the old face of his father, Arya again shed tears. How much he admired that man. The man who used to look handsome and dashing, was now weak helpless. The man who used to always encourage him, now resigned to the destiny that took away his health. "Dad's gonna be fine and in the next few days you can go home."
"Is that true, brother? Ah, thank goodness." Ryan looked so happy that he hugged his father. Seeing the happiness on the look on his sister's face, Arya can not tell the truth about the father. Let him alone endure the tormented feelings of fear of losing his father. Anytime and anywhere, he should be able to accept the fact that his father has to leave for good.
"Well, you go home. It's night, let us accompany you."
"Alright, Brother. I'll go home first." Ryan looked at his father who was smiling at him. "Dad, I'll go home first. Tomorrow morning, I'll come again."
"Go home, son. I'm fine." Wicaksana looks smiling. After hugging his father, Ryan then went out and rushed home.
"Don't tell Ryan about Dad's illness. Don't make him sad because you don't want to see him sad. You can, right, son?"
Arya nodded while holding her father's hand. Unknowingly, Arya was crying in front of her father.
"Don't cry. You will forever be in your hearts. Forgive me for keeping this matter alone. I just don't want to make you anxious." Wicaksana seemed to shed tears.
"Dad, I love you. To me, Dad is like my own father. I love you and Ryan. I'll do anything to make you happy." Arya was crying so much. Wicaksana smiled as her tears slowly fell.
Kania, who did not understand Arya's words, could only gently stroke her husband's back.
Twenty-six ago, little Arya was taken by the Wicaksana from an orphanage. The man was so fond of the gaze of the boy that had already caught his attention. The boy who was left at the door of the orphanage as an infant had apparently made Wicaksana and his wife choose him to make him their adopted son.
Since the presence of Arya in their home, Wicaksana and his wife are not lonely anymore. The cute behavior of the boy made the atmosphere of their home more crowded. Two years later, they had a son. However, their affection did not diminish for the boy. They took care of him and educated him into a kind and loving youth.
Not only that, Arya grew up to be a submissive child. He never denied his parents. For their sake, Arya was willing to do anything. However, Wicaksana and his wife never demanded that he do what he did not like.
"Don't say that, son. For Mom and Dad, you are our first child. Thanks to you, we are happy to feel how to be parents. Because of you, God has given us another child. Don't ever say that again because you're our son." Wicaksana gently stroked the head of Arya who was now looking down kissing her hand. With tears in her eyes, Arya hugged her father. Seeing them, Kania also shed tears.
How the affection of a child is so visible from Aryan attitude. The man looked so compassionate that he made Kania admire him even more. Seeing her affection and concern for the father, Kania becomes more and more convinced to link her heart and love for the man. "May you be the first and last husband of my life. May you be the last man I love and I hope we will forever be happy to sail the household ark without any obstructions to disturb." Kania assures her prayers. May what he wants come true because Arya is now his last moor.
It was late at night when the rain slowly started to fall. Wicaksana appeared to be asleep after Kania fed her a plate of porridge. Her vulnerable face looked calm with a blanket covering half of her body.
"Sleep, let me take care of you." Arya gently stroked the top of Kania's head as the girl finished clearing the room.
"How can I sleep while you're awake. Never mind, we better keep Dad together." Kania smiled and made Arya smile.
On the sofa chair, the two of them sat while clasping their hands tightly. For a moment, Kania looked at her husband's face to make Arya look at him in wonder. "What's wrong? Is there something you want to ask me?" Arya seemed to understand when she saw Kania's gaze leading to her.
Kania shook her head and smiled as she leaned her head on the man's arm. It felt so comfortable that it made Kania close her eyes.
"Do you want to ask about me in the past?"
Kania flanged back and grabbed her husband's hand and kissed him gently. "For me, it's not necessary for me to know. Because all I know, you are Arya Wicaksana. A great man who made me fall in love. I promise, I'll always be by your side, no matter what happens because I'm your wife."
Arya smiled and peeked at his wife's forehead. "Thank you, I love you." The man reveals his feelings. Now, without hesitation, Arya dared to express her feelings to make Kania smile happily.
The sound of falling rain water soaking the earth as if to bear witness to the sanctity of their love. By holding hands, they promise to always love and take care of each other.
Either their love will last until when, because it could be storms and typhoons coming to hit the ark of their love. A storm that could come crashing at anytime without caring about the sincerity of their love. Could they be able to survive?
