Just as Kania is leaving, Arya suddenly calls home just to ask her daughter's situation. "Why did my aunt lift up? Where's Kania?"
"Kania to the hospital, sir. He's on the phone by the doctor." Arya surprised. It was only fitting that when Arya contacted him, his phone was not picked up.
"Tania's fine, isn't she, Bi ?"
"Yes, Sir. Tania's playing."
"Yes, please take care of Tania, yes, Bi." Arya stopped her phone and rushed out of her office room.
"Tia, I'm out for a second."
"Good, sir."
Arya then got into her car and headed to the hospital. Upon arriving there, the man walked towards the room occupied by his mother Kania. In front of the room, Arya is surprised to see Kania who has been strangled by her own mother. Spontaneously, Arya immediately called some nurses and immediately ran into the room and tried to release her mother's hand which was still strangling Kania's neck.
With the help of some nurses, Kania finally broke free and the girl was seen crying. "Are you crazy? Why do you keep quiet when you're strangled like that?" Arya looks panicked, but Kania's answer makes her heart touched so much that Arya hugs her and lets her cry in her arms.
For a moment, Arya let Kania cry in her arms. I don't know what she felt when she cried in front of her. Pity and pity suddenly spread in his heart until he involuntarily stroked his hand gently on the girl's back.
Kania did not dodge as Arya stroked her back. Because right now, he needed someone to lean on and spill his grief.
"Sorry, shouldn't you check your neck? Looks like your neck is bleeding." Arya then sat down and examined Kania's neck which seemed to be scratched and bleed.
"It's okay. This wound is common to me." Kania just cleaned the wound with a tissue.
"Don't argue. Wait here, I'll ask the nurse to treat your wound." Arya then meets one of the nurses and asks him to treat Kania.
Although he refused, but the coercion of the nurse and Arya finally made him comply. The scratch wound was enough to make Kania feel pain when the wound was smeared with alcohol. After being treated, the nurse finally left.
Kania was still sitting in front of the door of the room where her mother was treated while occasionally looking at her mother from behind the glass.
"Is your mother like that?" ask Arya who is trying to find out.
"What do you want to know?" Kania looked at Arya with her face that looked cute.
"I'm sorry, if you don't want to tell, I won't force."
Kania smiled wryly and looked back at her mother who was now lying motionless. "Great woman's mother. I love her so much and anything I'll do as long as my mom gets well again." Kania fell silent and wiped away her slowly falling tears.
In her despair, Kania looked at Arya who was now looking at her. "Do you still want to help me? I have nothing to repay for what you gave me for my mother's treatment. Even though my life I give to you, it doesn't feel like it's worth what you've given me, because my mother is my life. I would have died for him. I ... " Kania was no longer able to speak. The sound of her crying became more heartbreaking. His face only looked down and occasionally wiped away his tears.
"Calm down, don't cry anymore. I'll keep helping you. Whatever your mother's medical expenses, I'll give you. I don't know what your past is like, but all I know is that I need you to stay by my family's side. Never mind, don't think of anything." Arya tried to strengthen her and suddenly she was surprised as Kania hugged her tightly.
"thank you. Thank you for believing in me. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't meet you. I promise to be there for your family until you don't need me anymore." Kania's crying became so much that Arya became confused. I don't know what to do for the girl's cry to stop.
Kania's body that hugged her tightly was then embraced. Although awkward, but pity and haru when he saw Kania crying as if forcing him to hug her.
"Wouldn't we hear the doctor's explanation?" Slowly, Kania let go of her embrace and nodded.
"Then, come on, let's go to the doctor's office." While embracing Kania, they walked towards the doctor's room which was not too far away from that place. Apparently, the doctor was waiting for them in his room.
"So, what about my mom?"
"We've done our best, but it looks like it's going to be difficult because the cancer virus in his body is growing very fast. Moreover, the immune system in the body is no longer able to ward off the virus due to age. And, I want to apologize, because it turns out you can't donate spinal cord because it turns out your blood type is not the same. And ... " The doctor stopped his sentence.
"Say it, Doc. I'll take anything." Kania tried hard, even though at the bottom of her heart she felt an overwhelming fear. She was afraid that her mother would leave her.
Although it was difficult, the doctor finally began to explain back what Kania should know. "I'd like to ask you before. If you may know, what's your father's blood type?"
"Paternal blood type O and maternal blood type O. Is something wrong, doc?"
"I'm sorry, but you better know. Your blood type is not the same as theirs. You have blood type AB, while your parents are blood type O. You understand what I mean, right?"
Kania speechless. The doctor's words were like a pain that cut his heart. It hurt to make him want to die and leave this world.
"Cania." Arya touched her shoulder and stroked the girl's back.
"No way, doc. They're my real parents. I'm their son, doc." Kania got up and walked out of the doctor's room with legs that could no longer be moved. His eyes were faint, until his body collapsed unconscious on the floor.
"Cania." Arya then approached him and immediately took him to a hospital room patient. On top of the hospital bed, Kania lay unconscious. His face looks pale and soft.
"Doc, is it true that Kania is not their biological child?"
"Really, Sir. I have checked their data that I got from the doctor who treated his mother while still at the Mental Hospital. At first, I didn't believe it either and checked it over and over again, but the truth is that Kania is really not their real child."
Due to Kania's weak condition, doctors eventually placed an infusion needle on the back of her hand. The news turned out to make Kania's condition become unstable to make him unconscious.
Arya sat on the side of the bed and looked at Kania's pale-looking face. The remaining wet tears on Kania's face slowly wiped away. There was a sense of compassion when he saw the weak helpless Kania. The smile that had been gracing his face was no longer engraved. All that is seen is a look of sadness and despair.
"Is your life really this complicated? You're willing to do anything for your mother, but she's not your real mother. Kania, be patient and accept this fact even if I know it's very difficult for you."
Curious about Kania's life, Arya then contacts Bastian just to tell him about his best friend's condition. Bastian was quite surprised when he heard the news about Kania. Not long after, the man then rushed to the hospital.
"How is he doing?" asked Bastian who had just walked into the room where Kania was being treated.
"He's still weak, so he hasn't been around, but don't worry. The doctor said, he'll be awake soon." Obviously Arya while looking at Bastian who looks panicked. The man looked sad when he saw Kania lying unconscious.
"What happened to her?" Bastian looked at Arya as if he wanted to ask her for an explanation.
"Well, let's talk outside." Arya rushed out of the room and followed Bastian. They sat in the front seat of the corridor.
"Explain to me what happened to Kania."
"Before, I wanted to ask, did you know about the Tania family?"
Bastian nodded. "I've known Tania since 2nd grade High School and I also know both her father and mother. Wait a minute, what is it you ask like that?"
Arya was silent for a moment. "Did you know that Kania wasn't their real child?"
Bastian's surprised. "Who told you this ridiculous thing?"
"Jawab my question. Don't you know that actually, Kania isn't their real child?"
"Really, I don't know anything about it." Bastian looked surprised, not even believing what Arya had just said to him.
"If you don't mind, can you tell me the real problem Kania is having?"
Bastian looks to bow his face. It was hard to accept the fact that his best friend would hear and experience the pain in his life. Not in pain, Bastian shed tears.
"Kania is a very nice girl. He is the only friend I have survived to this day. In the past, when I was difficult, he always helped me. When I needed money for school fees, he was also the one who always helped by setting aside his savings. Their family life at the time was very capable. His father owned a large company at the time. Until all that happened. His father was tricked by his own best friend to make him bankrupt. Their houses, cars, and everything they owned were sold to pay off debts. At that time, Kania was still in college, until she finally decided to quit college and work to help pay her father's debt." Bastian stopped his sentence while wiping away the slowly falling tears.
"When Kania works, the money she makes is always used up to pay her father's gambling debts. Due to stress, his father began to get drunk and gamble frequently. Until one day, that happened. His father came home drunk and beat his mother. Kania who just came home from work did not escape the blows of her father. Kania who tried to break up apparently made her father angry. Her father took a wooden block and was about to smash it into Kania, but her mother suddenly stabbed her husband in the stomach with a knife to death. Her mother was sentenced to seven years in prison and Kania lived alone. Not until there, Kania must accept the harsh reality because her mother had to be taken to the Mental Hospital because of a mental disorder." Bastian was silent again. He was no longer able to continue the sad story of his best friend.
Arya who had listened to Bastian's words was unable to speak. It seemed, the difficulty of his life was not comparable to the suffering of Kania. Losing his wife like a heavy blow in his life was not comparable to Kania who had to lose both parents. Coupled with the bitter reality that had just been known by Kania to make his body limp unconscious.
"I think for the next you know. Honestly, I was so happy when I found out that you were going to help her with her mother's treatment. If I had the money, I would have given all my money to her, but I was just a poor young man who had to support my mother and three sisters. I have nothing to help him. I just have a shoulder and a hug I can give her to lean on." Bastian wiped his tears. The man could not help but cry until he made Arya tear up.
The friendship that lasted for almost 10 years meant a lot to Bastian. He has promised to always be there and take care of his best friend.
Seeing Bastian crying, Arya could only pat her shoulder slowly and get up leaving the man who was seen bending his face.
Arya then went inside the room and checked the state of Kania. The man sat by the bed looking at Kania's pale face. "Patience, I'm sure it will all end beautifully. I'll help you through this difficult time." Arya held Kania's hand tightly. The girl's face looked helpless as if bearing the weight of life.
Slowly, Kania opened her eyes and looked around the room. Despite being exhausted, Kania tried to sit down.
"Lay a minute, you're still weak." Persuade Arya, but Kania still forces to sit until Arya is devastated and helps her to sit. "Rest and don't move much first."
Bastian who realized that Kania had realized then entered the room. His tears felt unable to hold him until he immediately embraced Kania. Likewise with Kania when he saw Bastian in front of him. Both hands extended to Bastian as if asking to be embraced by his best friend.
In Bastian's arms, Kania cries. Her crying felt heartbreaking. The two friends cried so much that Arya chose to leave the room and sit in front of the corridor.
I don't know what she feels now. It felt, she could not bear to see Kania cry. The cries, the tears, and the sad face of the girl had melted his heart. A strange feeling now seeped in his heart and he himself was confused by that feeling. Is it just pity and pity or something he has not felt for a long time. Something that made him feel happy and miserable.
