Although their marriage was only a contract marriage, but Arya still told about Kania's life to her father. Although not all about Kania's life he said honestly, but at least he wanted his father to know the woman who had become his wife.
And now, Ryan was so shocked when he heard about Kania 4 years ago. Where, he had been hurt by the girl. He was once disappointed with the Kania affair to make him decide to leave Indonesia. However, all of those events again disturbed his memory until he decided to ask for an explanation from Kania. "Kania, what happened to your family 4 years ago. Answer me honestly, Kania." Ryan looked at the girl who was now lowering her face. Kania fell silent, either she had to explain what to the young man.
Looking at Kania who was just silent, Ryan grew curious to the point of making her grab the girl's chin and raise her face. Suddenly, Ryan was surprised when he saw the tears that had soaked the girl's face.
"Kania, please explain to me so that I don't feel guilty about you. Please be honest with me." Ryan stood in front of the girl. Until Kania finally decided to be frank with him.
"What you already know is true. I deliberately stayed away from you because I knew I no longer deserved to be with you. Family destroyed. My father died and my mother was in prison. I'm no longer the Kania that's always there when you need it because I have to spend my time working and I don't want you to know about it all. I purposely hurt you to keep you away from me and I managed to get you away from me." Kania wiped away her tears that were slowly falling. Recalling everything, Kania again felt a pain in her heart.
Hearing Kania's words, Ryan just fell silent, but deep down he was so hurt because it turned out he was not a good lover. Kania apparently did not believe it until it hurt her heart. Kania prefers to lose her rather than having to know the condition of her family. She was so selfish that she always expected Kania to be there when she needed it, but as a lover she couldn't be by Kania's side when she needed it most.
"I'm sorry that I couldn't be next to you. Honestly, I don't know what I'd do if I knew about your family back then. Maybe, I could have left you or I could have turned away from you, but you'd rather leave me and make me hate you. Kania, I'm sorry." Ryan shed tears until slowly his hand grabbed the girl's body and hugged her tightly. "I'm sorry, Kania."
Inside the young man's arms, Kania cried. He wanted to spill the disturbing taste in his heart all along. The love that began to unsettle his heart, may be stored and will never return he revealed because now, he is not alone anymore.
Kania slowly released her embrace and looked at the young man who was also staring at her. "Now, you already know the reason I left you first, so no more hate in your heart for me. I know, it's hard for you to see I'm here, but we have to get used to it. I am now the wife of your brother and let our stories of the past only we know. Please, just keep those stories in our memories and start living your new love story. Forget about me once filling your heart because I can no longer be in your heart." Kania uttered all of that with tears streaming down her face. Although he knows, the feeling has not really gone, but he must be able to make a decision because he does not want Arya disappointed in him.
Kania then left Ryan who was still standing looking at her disappearance, until suddenly she was surprised when the young man grabbed her hand and took her into his room. "Ryan, what are you doing?" Kania tries to let go of her hand, but Ryan doesn't care. The young man's reddened face restrained his anger and also tears.
"Ryan, I beg you, please let go of my hand!!" Kania pleads while trying to let go of her hand, until arriving at the door of her room, Ryan releases her hand.
"Are you crazy??!!"
"Yes, I'm crazy. Do you know what I've been feeling all this time? I am angry and hate you, but I cannot hate you. Did you know I was jealous all along? Supposedly, you are currently my wife not my sister!!" Ryan looks so emotional when he vaporizes all the uneg-uneg in his heart. She was so disappointed and angry that she was not the one who was in her heart anymore. He was angry that Kania had easily asked him to tell their love story in the past.
"Is it that easy you can forget me? Although I'm angry and hateful, but I can't forget you that easily. Do you think I can easily forget you? I don't care if you're my sister's wife, because I loved you first. I filled your heart first. You know that, right?"
"What are you talking about? Shut up, you can make the whole house hear what you say." Kania rushes to leave, but Ryan follows her back until their steps are stopped as Tania stands in front of them. "Mama." The little girl woke up and walked towards Kania. Gently, Kania grabbed the body of the little girl into her carriage.
"Mama and Uncle why fight?" tania asked as she looked at Ryan who was still standing beside Kania.
"Uncle and Mama don't fight, really. We're just talking about buying Tania another doll. Uncle wants to buy you a teddy bear, but Mama wants to buy you a panda."
"Don't buy me another doll because I've had a lot of dolls, Uncle." The girl smiled as she wrapped her hands around Kania's neck. "Ma, accompany me in the room, I'm still sleepy." Tania rested her head on her mother's left shoulder.
"All right." Kania nodded and walked away leaving Ryan who was still staring at them until they were lost behind the bedroom door.
On the bed, Kania laid the body of the little girl. Beside her, Kania lay down while stroking her back gently. Slowly, the little girl's eyes closed, but Kania could not close her eyes for a second. Her memory is back on Ryan. "I hope you can accept everything. It's our destiny to part ways and I can't possibly be with you anymore because it will hurt you and your sister too" batik Kania with a gushing tear-spear fell on the corner of her eye.
Inside his room, Ryan stared at the piece of photos he still kept. The photo where he was embracing a girl who was smiling at him. It was a photo of her togetherness with Kania in the past. The photo he always carried and always stared at when longing disturbed his heart. The longing for a girl who can't be easily forgotten by him. And back, he felt that longing even though the girl had become his own brother.
The sound of a car just sounded in the courtyard of the house. Tania rushed out when she heard the roar of the car she had memorized, because the roar of the car was her father's car. With a smile, Arya grabbed her daughter's body and carried it. "Princess Papa is beautiful and fragrant. Where's Mama?" ask the man to make his daughter smile.
"Papa misses mommy, huh?" asked the little girl while whispering in her father's ear to make the man smile.
"It's okay, Dad. Tania understands, really." Arya made him laugh again to make Kania who walked towards them smile. "What are you two laughing at?" asked Kania who was curious about the behavior of the child and her husband.
"Secret, Ma." Tania then got down from her father's sling and ran into her room.
"Tania why?" kania asked as she grabbed the bag that her husband was carrying.
Arya just smiled. "After the night I'd like to take you out. Do you mind?" asked Arya who was walking on the side of Kania.
Kania nodded and smiled at him. "Alright," answered Kania briefly. Kania has never refused Arya's request to her. What the man ordered, he always did. For some reason, Arya looks more mature and gentle in her eyes to make her comply with her request.
"Sum while it's still warm." Kania placed the glass on the table with some snacks she had just made.
Arya smiled and nodded. The glass was then grabbed and gulped the contents in the glass until the remaining half. "Thank you." Hearing the man's words, Kania smiled and rushed towards her bed.
"Arya, it looks like dad is sick. When I got home, his face looked pale. I'm just worried that dad is really sick and he doesn't want us to know about his illness" Kania said, forcing Arya to close her laptop.
"Are you sure?" Kania nodded.
Arya got up from her seat and walked out of the room. His steps were now directed towards his father's room. After knocking on the door, the door of the room opened.
"Dad sick?" arya asked as she entered her father's room.
"Did Kania tell you?" asked Wicaksana while sitting on her bed.
"Yes, Dad."
Wicaksana smiled and patted his son's shoulder. "Your wife is too much. I know he's worried, but your dad's fine. Dad was a little dizzy, maybe it was because Dad was tired after almost a day at Dad's best friend's house." Wicaksana smiled behind his lie.
"Dad, I know you're kangen with your best friends, but you also have to think about your health. If you're tired, you could be sick. Can't it be if Dad's friends come to visit Dad at home?"
"Yes, I'm sorry, I'll tell them to meet in this house. Never mind, don't worry about Dad too much." Wicaksana then got up from her bed. "Come, accompany me to play chess." Arya smiled and accepted her father's request.
Arya is a great friend to play chess with. His broad insight, his patient character and of course his gentle attitude made Wicaksana prefer him to be a chess opponent compared to Ryan who was always impatient and angry.
In the living room, the father and son looked seriously at the chessboard that was already filled with black and white pawns. Seeing them, Kania only smiled with relief because Arya was able to make her father excited again. On the table, Kania placed two glasses of warm honey tea with a plate of snacks. The girl sat down next to Wicaksana and watched the chessboard closely.
"You want to play too?" wicaksana asked as she saw her daughter-in-law sitting next to her.
"I don't know how to play chess. I just want to sit here with Dad."
"Oh, so. All right, I can beat your husband." Wicaksana seemed excited to make Arya smile even though she knew, her father never won from her, but for this time she will succumb.
"Well, I admit defeat." Arya raised both her hands in surrender. Her father smiled proudly in front of Kania and the girl smiled and looked at her husband.
"I know you're purposely giving up. Aye, right?" kania asked as the two of them were in the room.
Arya nodded and smiled at the girl. "I'm happy because you can smile like that. For dad, I would do anything because he's the only parent I have right now. In her old age, I want to make her happy and I want you to be able to help me make her happy."
Kania smiled and nodded slowly. "I will help you to make your father happy. Didn't I tell you that your father is my father too?"
Kania then rushed to the bathroom and before long she had come out using a long peach-colored dress.
"Hurge, don't you want to take me out to eat?"
Arya looked at him in wonder. Kania just smiled looking at the expression on the man's face. "Don't you want to take me out to eat?"
"Why do you know?"
"Because now I'm your wife and every wife's birthday, her husband must take her out to eat. Right, right?"
Arya was surprised to hear Kania's words and made her nod without a word. "Yes, you are my wife now, but do you want to be my wife forever?" inner Arya while rushing towards the bathroom.
