Chapter 5 - The Strange Cave

Shira and Megumi started walking in the middle of the forest while showing a look of tired expression as they continued to walk straight without turning left and right, "Hah... Huh... Huh..." Shira began to lie on the ground with a tired expression as the two of them had been walking for three hours until now the day started towards the end of the afternoon, Megumi stopped walking then she looked at Shira who looked exhausted, "Are you tired...?" Ask Megumi.

"Shut your mouth... Who's really to blame, huh...!?" Shira asked as she showed an annoyed expression, "Who tried...? I was just eating insect snacks and Aw-drinking water! Aw! Aw!!!" Shouted Megumi who suddenly both cheeks were pinched by Shira very loudly, "Sick...!!! Pain, Shira...!!!" Megumi shouted loudly until both her cheeks began to turn red.

"IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT BECAUSE EVERY FEW MINUTES THAT GO THROUGH, YOU ALWAYS DRINK OUR WATER BATH TO THE END...!!!" Shira shouts annoyed that Shira can only drink one glass of water while Megumi may have consumed a lot of drinking water and now Shira is thirsty, she is eager to try to drink something, "Now I'm thirsty...!!! What should I drink, huh!? Your sweat water is that!? Or your piss!?" Shira asked who started saying something no-no, it made Megumi show a look of sadness.

"It hurts...!!!" Megumi directly hit both hands of Shira until both hands began to stop pinching Megumi's cheeks, "Huuuu... It hurts..." Megumi began rubbing her two red cheeks, "You should know that Neko Legend needs a lot of water... More than an ordinary legend like you, fool." Megumi began to puff out her cheeks, Shira immediately held the tip of Megumi's head while showing a look of annoyance and an expression that Shira had was able to make Megumi frightened, "Kyahh...!?"

"YOU THINK I'M A GHOST OR SOME KIND OF LIVING THING THAT DOESN'T NEED WATER WHAT...!? WITHOUT WATER I CANNOT DO ANYTHING...!!!" Shouted Shira loudly until Megumi began to raise her index finger up, "I have an idea! What if I taught you some important lessons about the magic energy of the Legends, Lenergy. You're such an amateur legend that you don't know what Lenergy is." Said Megumi who began to rise up to the tree behind her, Shira began to calm herself and then she saw Megumi who began to sit under a large tree.

"At least learning something is able to withstand this thirst..." Said Shira, she started to approach Megumi and then she sat down in front of her while showing a serious-looking expression, "So...? What is lenergy...? Is that some kind of Mana?" Shira asked because usually someone if you want to use magic then you have to have magic energy called Mana, but this is different, it seems like Legend requires magic energy called Lenergy.

"No, Mana is the source of magic energy for Humans while Legend... We need Lenergy to use magic." Megumi stretched her right arm forward and began to create a ball of energy made from wind, "Lenergy forms are usually formed differently according to the magic you have. My magic is the wind and my Lenergy is surrounded by winds." Shira nodded then she started to hold her chin while staring at the energy ball surrounded with wind.

"Lenergy can also be known as 'burdened magic energy' or "fighting power," which can be directly interpreted as also 'life force.' This power is the real energy within each nation of Legends, with its main focus being at the center of the body. By pulling it out, a Legend can manipulate and use it outside the body." Megumi started moving her tail and then she started picking up the insect in front of her and she ate it.

"Lenergy can be used for a variety of techniques. Since there were physical limitations on the strength of the body itself, it was necessary to raise the Lenergy of a Legend to overcome this barrier and become stronger. Usually, the more concentrated the mass, the more time it takes the user to expel it by powering on. When a Legend gathers Lenergy, they can gain strength, speed, enhanced endurance, and can increase their attack power to inflict greater damage on an opponent." Shira started rounding her eyes because Lenergy could also be used for anything other than a source of magic energy.

"Usually, the more Lenergy increases, the harder it is to control it, so controlling Lenergy is also important. Lenergy can be lost when the user has an injury in certain parts such as organs because usually Lenergy is always present in the organs of the body." Megumi.

Shira immediately nodded then she began to close her eyes and after that she pointed forward using her right palm, she tried to take out her Lenergy, "You just have to remove or exert all the Lenergy in his body, can you feel the flow in your body...?" Megumi and Shira asked directly, "... ...!" Shira rounded her eyes and then she started to create a ball of energy surrounded with light, "B-Successful..." Shira instantly disappeared that Lenergy.

"Great! Well then, what if you try to create a magic using your Lenergy and light magic?" Megumi asked as she showed her smile, Shira began to rise from the ground and then she glanced back and began to point forward using her right palm, "... ..." Shira closed her eyes and began to create a light energy in her right palm until suddenly Shira's entire body began to be protected with a golden aura, "Ahh...!" Shira instantly stopped as she was shocked when she saw the golden auras surrounding her entire body.

"What was that...? How could those golden auras surround my entire body...? This isekai world is completely different from all the others." Shira starts staring at both palms and after that Megumi starts patting Shira on the back, "Why did you stop, Shira...? You were almost able to create the magic you wanted." Megumi said with a puzzled expression, Shira began to look at Megumi, "What was that aura...?!" Shira asked while showing a look of confusion because usually if someone uses magic then their body will not be surrounded with strange auras.

"The aura that smeared all over your body was your Lenergy, Shira. Looks like your Lenergy heard your call... Your spirit and self-esteem are like being able to make your Lenergy rise. You were almost able to create light magic! Let's try again!" Megumi said, Shira nodded then she started pointing forward while showing a serious look, Shira's golden auras appeared then suddenly four light waves began to appear and her right palm.

The waves started to spin like a fan and after that Shira raised her index, middle finger, and thumb fingers forward and shot a powerful energy towards the tree that was in front of her, that streak of light energy was able to pierce through the trees that were in front of him and inflict a great amount of damage. *BOM!* Shira and Megumi immediately round their eyes when they saw the magic that Shira launched was very strong, "H-Great..." Shira and Megumi at the same time.

"It turns out you have potential too with your light magic, Shira." Said Megumi who started looking at Shira, Shira started to show a tired expression, "But my body feels tired and heavy, ugh..." Megumi patted her own face then she started helping Shira sit on the ground because it seemed like Shira was really an amateur legend, "You should get used to this, Shira. Don't forget to always train your body and your Lenergy as well." Megumi said until Shira began to answer him with a small nod as her arms began to feel weak.

Suddenly the raindrops started falling from above the sky until it started to fall down heavily and was able to make Shira and Megumi's hair a little wet, "Ahh... It's raining...!" Said Megumi who glanced up at the sky where she could see a lot of cloud overcasts, Shira sighed and leaned her back against the tree behind her, Megumi began to lower both her ears and tail, "We can't sleep well if it keeps raining, even the soil will turn into dirty mud." Said Megumi who started to hold her tail and started rubbing the tail.

"We have no other choice but to wait-" Megumi suddenly begins to take out two glasses of leaves inside the bag she was carrying, Megumi directly patted the two glasses outside the leaves blocking the two of them, Megumi sat next to Shira then she stared at the two glasses of leaves that slowly began to fill with water, "Those two glasses of water are for you, Shira. At least my curiosity was gone when I saw you use your light magic."

Shira smiled then she started to nod, "Egumi..."

"Hmm...?"

"Help what...?"

"Well, help me to be a strong and worthy Legend. So that I can protect someone and fight for someone." Shira started to smile and it made Megumi smile as well, "I will help you anyway, you will have invited me to leave this forest then I will follow you, Shira." 

"Thank you--"

Megumi begins to point at Shira using her index finger, "Unconditionally... You have to help me in my parents' search. For now, what if you help me find a family and then I'll help you too, Shira. Maybe forever because I want to go on an adventure with someone." Megumi said, Shira nodded then she stretched out her right arm, "Agreed." Shira answered and the two of them began shaking hands, after which Megumi approached the two glasses and Shira began to take off her jacket, when Megumi sat back next to her Shira directly put the jacket on to Megumi.

"Ehh...?" Megumi began to look at Shira with a look of confusion, Shira could only shut up and take the two glasses and then she drank them without saying anything because she currently felt quite awkward, "Thank you, thank you, it's warm..." Megumi smiled as the hot temperature began to turn cold due to the heavy rain, Shira even started to feel refreshed when she drank the two glasses of leaves, "Fresh, fresh, for now let's stop this rain." Shira said, he rose up from the ground.

"If you say that then I'll remove the cloud using my wind magic." Megumi said, she got up from the ground and started walking forward with a body that slowly started to be surrounded with winds, the water droplets that hit Megumi's aura were able to bounce everywhere including hitting Shira's body, "O-Oi...!" 

Megumi closed her eyes and suddenly the fingernails all over her fingers began to extend and the nails began to be circled with winds, "CYCLONE FRENZY!!!" Megumi immediately swung her hooves up until she immediately launched a few wind pushes that were able to make all the cloud cloud split into pieces to cause the rain to stop, "Whoa..." Shira rounded her eyes when she saw that happen, Megumi glanced back, "Shira, what if you try to find a way?" Megumi asked, Shira nodded and climbed up the tree behind her.

When he reached the top of the tree, he could only see the trees, Shira could not even see the river and her main goal was the exit, "Megumi!" Shouted Shira who tried to summon Megumi, Shira started to look around and she could see nothing but a large rock in the east, "Huh...? The rock...?" Shira started to look at the stone with a serious look as she wanted to check back if the stone had an answer for them coming out of the labyrinth forest.

"Oi, Megumi! Did you hear!?" Shira asked because Megumi did not answer Shira's call, she immediately glanced down and suddenly Megumi disappeared without realizing it, "E-Ehh...!? She disappeared where did she try!?" Shira asked annoyed that she saw Megumi's footprints, Shira jumped down and she stared at them, "Have she run--"

"Shira, hurry!!!" Shouting Megumi loudly, she was currently in front of Shira while kissing someone's footprints, Shira began to approach Megumi from behind while showing a look of confusion, "You're doing a what-" Megumi pointed at Shira using her index finger, "Shhh... It seems I smell the scent of a noble who once took me to this place." Megumi started running forward using both her palms and both her legs, so she was currently running away like a pointy, "Oi! Wait!" Shira runs after Megumi from behind.

A few minutes later, Shira and Megumi arrive in front of the rock that Shira saw a few minutes ago, "Ehh...? This rock...?" Shira began to show a surprised look, she could see a huge entrance, which meant that the stone was the entrance to the cave or dungeon, "I can feel those nobles going inside this dungeon, Shira. That means they must all be trying to go towards the city of Ezlento!"  Megumi ran towards the entrance of the cave, but Shira immediately pulled her tail, "Don't rush!"

"Yahhhh...!!!" Megumi's entire body immediately tensed up as Shira pulled her tail, she glanced back then she smashed into Shira's cheek using her tail. *CLOTH* "A.w..." Shira rubbed her cheeks that had just been slapped from her tail, "Don't just grab hold of my tail, you idiot...!!! You are a fool, Shira...!!! Light magic yes, but your brain has dark magic that is able to bring you to the abyss of...!" Said Megumi while showing an annoyed expression.

TUKS...! TUKS...! TUKS...!

Shira and Megumi hear the sound of the steps approaching, Shira immediately takes Megumi and hides on the rock, "I can--" Shira immediately blocked Megumi's lips and after that she began to look at her with a serious expression, reflexively Shira's body moved itself when she heard the bow, his movements also grew faster to be able to catch Megumi, "I'm not like seeing Shira covered with light magic... Did he use his light magic again which was able to make his speed increase...?"

Suddenly two nobles began to walk out of the cave while smoking, Shira took a few steps back so that he did not breathe because he hated cigarette smoke, "Mffhh... Mfh..." Megumi tried to speak but in her speech it was very unclear to Shira, "Yes... Yeah..." Shira could only answer 'Yes' and 'Yes' because she wanted to see what plan or purpose the two nobles had.

"Are the reinforcements trying to locate this cave...?" Asked one of the nobles until the other noble simply replied with a nod, "Take it easy, Moro. I'm sure they'll both find the heart of that Saint you're after. Not that this strange cave behind us has the heart of a Saint who is still nowhere to be found...?" Ask the nobleman who started calling the nobleman who stood next to him as Moro.

"Yes, I want as soon as someone takes the Saint's heart." Moro turned around and he went into the cave, he held the cigarette butts and after that he threw them away, "Hopefully the Neko Saint does not smell us, if he kissed her then he could have found out about the family he was looking for." Said the nobleman, he began to follow Moro from behind.

"Saint's heart...?" Shira began to show a look of confusion as she did not know what the Saint's heart was.
