Towards the Unbeatable

Towards the Unbeatable
Act 262: Respect

The three of them finally entered the forest area again, about to find a suitable place for Danny's final resting place.

Eventually Brock and Vincent return to the place where they first found Danny dead, where there is a large enough area of land to serve as a tomb for Danny.

They both feel the place where Danny died is the one that deserves to be his final resting place too.

After a short conversation, Patricia agrees with Brock and Vincent's proposal for the location of his friend's final resting place.

"All right! We've all agreed that Danny will be buried here, indeed if remembered again this place will be sad because Danny died here, but that's not what we have to think about at this time; Danny has struggled and been a good man until the end of his life, he should have received more than this, but we have nothing but to bury him simply, let him rest in peace with this."

After Brock delivers messages about Danny's final resting place, he puts Danny's body right under a tree with visible bloodstains, it was this place that witnessed that his life had ended there.

Vincent asks permission to search for a large stone which he can use to make Danny's headstone; not long after he finds a suitable stone, with his fire magic he writes Danny's name, the, he wrote the name using a hot tip of the fire that could produce black smoke, by focusing his magic then the tip of the black smoke could form a flame with a sharp black smoke that he could use to write on the stone.

After doing his job, he returns to meet Patricia and Brock, who have also dug up Danny's grave; yet strangely he has no idea how the great man did it, they have no hoe, they have no hoe, or any tool that can make the ground perforated like that.

"Brock, how did you dig up the ground for Danny's body? We don't have any equipment right now." Vincent was astonished when he saw the tomb hole that was available today, how did they do this?

"Vincent, I've used my earth magic, using that power we can bury him quickly, he said, I just need to manipulate the shape of the soil from hard to soft and then remove the soil easily based on the calculations that match the size of the tomb usually."

Vincent saw that the pit had been dug perfectly and beside it was a mound of earth to close it back; he stuck the tombstone made for Danny on a mound of dirt next to the tomb hole.

"Oh that? It turns out that magic can be useful for things like this, too" Vincent said

"I thought magic was only used to fight and protect myself, but after you explained it, it felt like my view of magic had changed." Vincent nods to learn something about magic that turns out to be useful for other things than being used for combat.

"There are still many secrets to Vincent's magic, and many different uses as well." Brock supported Vincent's opinion.

With the existence of special abilities such as magic, it is not impossible that science can facilitate its users in various ways, if used properly.

Witchcraft is an ability that cannot be estimated by ordinary minds, a special science in which the impossible can become possible and occur in the real world.

Brock then showed something in his palm like two glowing red and brown rocks on Vincent and Patricia.

"Th-this!" Patricia realized something when she saw the stone pointed out by the big man, it seemed like she had seen the stone somewhere.

"You realize something Patricia?" Brock knew that Patricia who was close to Danny must have known something about the two glowing red and brown rocks.

"I-I've seen it, Danny pulled some kind of rock out of his own body, and it's that rock you showed me."

"It seems to be true what I said earlier, Danny gathered the power of the stone with a specific purpose."

Brock was rather astonished to hear the girl's words. "Looks?"

"Ah, actually I don't really know about this stone, Danny was like closed when talking about this; I know it because I accidentally heard the talk on various occasions when he was training first."

"Hm." Brock and Vincent put up a face mimic unhappy at hearing the girl turned out to like eavesdropping on other people's conversations.

"I-I accidentally heard it! If Danny had kept this from me he would have had his reasons, but now I'll never know why he's hiding it from me." Patricia tries to explain that she doesn't really want to know what Danny is hiding; she only finds out accidentally and still wonders why Danny hid his purpose from her.

"I see, when we found Danny's body here, for a while we were with him and not long after we found out he was dead, moments later inside his clenched right hand was a kind of light shining, when I checked it turned out that he was holding these two strange glowing stones" Brock explained to the girl.

Patricia argues that the stone is indeed a magic stone called a precious gemstone that belongs to Danny.

"When I found it, I was shocked and did not know what this thing was; but in the end I decided to take it with me and hide the existence of this stone from Mr. Arthur who then came to see Danny's condition." Brock gave a detailed explanation of the incident that had happened.

"It looks like this stone belongs to Danny, and this is all he left behind; so let you Patricia keep this for him." Brock reveals the reason why he showed the stone.

"Ah? Why me? Aren't you Danny's friends, too? Surely Danny also believes in you guys ...." Patricia feels that keeping Danny's belongings by the weak seems to only disappoint him.

"Why do you think that? Aren't you the one who was with Danny the first time? Even spend time with him? Right now there's no one she trusts more than you." Vincent finally spoke up, supporting Brock's intention to hand over Danny's legacy to the current Patricia; his lewd nature was dramatically diminished at this time.

"Really?" Patricia who had felt unworthy to keep the item that Danny considered valuable, but after hearing input from both men who were also known Danny; he felt more confident to keep the item with him.

Patricia finally accepts the two glowing magic stones, keeps them in her pants pocket and intends to keep them at all times.

"With this, Danny can be more relieved because the object he left behind is in the hands of people he believes at this time," said Brock, he smiled as well as Vincent at this time.

Gaining new responsibilities, Patricia wants to carry out this trust as best she can.

"Oh, may I ask for one last thing?" Patricia was thinking about something right now.

"Yes? What do you want?" Brock answered quickly.

"Ah-ah no, I don't think I need to ask for anything else anymore." Patricia suddenly also did not come up with what she wanted to say earlier.

"Hm? Wh why? Is there something?" Vincent asks to see if anything is bothering the young girl; his sharp instincts force Patricia to say what she had just said.

"I think before we bury Danny, it's good to wash our hands first." Patricia finally said what she wanted to say.

"Washing hands?" Vincent was a bit clueless as to what the girl meant.

"Do you not know Vincent? Washing hands before burying someone who is gone is a form of respect as well." Brock tried to explain to his friend.

"Washing hands first? But where can we find water, do we have to wait for the weather to come back cloudy and drip on us?"

"Vincent, it's not as easy as you say, the water used to wash our hands is not just any water; we better look for the water that flows and wash our hands there; a pure and clean spring that can make our hands clean again as before."

"Ah? How is it different from ordinary water? I don't think I know, but if we had to use clean water, we'd go to the little river we just passed when we tried to get Danny to run when Mr. Arthur told us to."

"Ah you're right Vincent, we did take a detour a little far, and we had time to pass through a small river whose water was clean and clear, it's not so far away let's wash our hands there." Brock invites Patricia and Brock to go to the river he and Vincent met earlier.

Patricia wants Danny to rest in peace; the last respect they try to do is a form of loss and willingness to let go of his current departure.

"We'll be back soon Danny." Patricia followed Brock and Vincent down the river not too far away; they had to go back through the thick trees to reach it.

Although the location of the river is not too far away, but still if you walk then their journey there can not be said to be fast, but it is not easy, the cause is a path that is quite stamped by rocks and does not forget the various branches and twigs scattered in the forest area that forced them to walk slowly to reach the place.

Danny was left by the three of them at the spot where he died, under a tree with a bloodstain on the side of that tree.

Not too long later, the wind blew; this made the fresh air re-spread in the area of the young man at the moment.

"Noe ...."
