Act 18: Memory - The Rain Forest

Rhart's entourage finally arrived at this forest called Dawn Forest, a forest that was mysterious because it was shrouded in incredible magic energy.

Birds, rolling animals, insects, or all kinds of ordinary animals are not here that there are only various kinds of strange animals that have magic power.

Each squad leader was : Rhart, Claus, and Ther, Rhrat brought three hundred troops, Claus brought four hundred troops and Ther brought three hundred troops. They scattered every corner of the forest to start hunting wild animals there.

Rhart was accompanied by his best friend Rudolph with two hundred and ninety-eight other knights. They began to explore continue to explore the forest, at first there was nothing strange besides a variety of very large trees there but the situation did not last until the end.

After reaching the deepest part of the forest, their view was limited by the size of the leaves and branches of the tree so that they could not see freely.

The roots of the big trees, the large dry leaves scattered, the carcasses of the big trees that had collapsed they had to pass through all this, until suddenly a thick fog enveloped the Rhart squad. He told them to be on alert, a tiger-like voice roaring so loudly that their ears were in pain to hear it.

"A...what is it?!" said one soldier

"A.I don't know." said Rhart.

"We should be careful.." Advice Rudolph

Suddenly a big tiger star appeared that blocked the squad.

"EVERYTHING IS ON ALERT!!!"

The great tiger was the size of a house in general, it was very large, had large sharp fangs ready to bite whatever was in front of it.

One of the knights attacked him from behind but his sword attack did not even hit the tiger's body just hitting the red magic energy that enveloped the tiger. The poor knight was violently thrown into a big tree until his whole body was broken.

Seeing that the other knights did not remain silent, they tried to attack simultaneously, but what was the power of the simultaneously ineffective attack that there was the tiger made a very large scratch on the bodies of the knights so that they were exposed to a body full of blood.

Rhart began to order his insertion

"HEY, STOP ATTACKING LIKE THAT!"

"WE MUST USE MAGIC TO DEFEAT HIM!!"

The Knights were wide-eyed to hear the statement, since some ordinary knights did not have advanced magic abilities, they only had basic magic abilities.

"Hey.hey...."

"Then we're all-"

The head of the soldier who was talking was lost from its place was thrown deep into the dark forest because of the tiger's big claw.

The other knights who saw him shuddered in horror and tried to escape from the huge Tiger.

"HIN!!!" Rudolph ran forward using a sharp thin sword that had been strengthened with magic.

When his attack was almost until suddenly Rhart attacked him from behind it suddenly made his attack unable to be launched.

Rudolph fell around the other soldiers who were feeling scared.

"Law...." Rhart held his stomach

"Well?!" He saw that his stomach had been carved into the tiger's large claw as well

"It turns out not to be sem.pat ya..", he felt a tremendous pain that he had never felt before blood began to flow from his stomach.

"GART!"

Rudolph had not had time to go to the place where Rhart threw a sharp shudder tiger scratches back to target it, but he swiftly avoided it.

The knight who saw it tried to take Rhart to safety away from the terrible danger. The knight rests Rhart behind a large tree.

"Thank you..."

"Yes commander..."

Meanwhile Rudolph rose up and continued to fight the great tiger along with other knights but unfortunately the ability of the knights was classified as below average in the face of magical energy creatures so that one by one of them fell.

Seeing the massacres going on in front of him the knight began to speak

"Commander..."

"Are we just here to die in the hands of that monster?"

"..."

The backup so moved the knight's mind that he began to laugh in despair.

"hey-hey!"

"Calm down!" Said Rhart while holding the knight's shoulder

"Well?!"

"Quiet down?! how could you possibly say that?!"

"We....WE'RE JUST PICKING UP BY BEING HERE!!"

"DIDN'T YOU UNDERSTAND THE SITUATION, COMMANDER?!"

So loud was the cry of the knight that the big tiger looked at him instead.

The atmosphere in the battlefield was now only Rudolph, Rhart, and the knight. Now that the Tiger had slaughtered the entire army led by Rhart, Rudolph holding his thin little sword covered with blood now his entire body was covered in wounds, having drawn his attention the tiger darted at the knight, unfortunately the knight could do nothing.

"SIAALL!!!!" Rudolph jumped forward to stop the tiger, not yet had time until the attack twigs around the tree was split in two it also happened to Rudolph. His wind attack was so powerful that Rudolph's body was unable to accept this sharp and deep attack, even his entrails were about to come out, yet he did not give up either.

"RUDALPH!!!!!"

Rudolph smiled at him and returned against the ferocious tiger attack after attack but his attack did not grow stronger due to the stamina that continued to drain throughout this fight.

Rhart tried to get up in the pain, his suffering was nothing compared to Rudolph's struggle to protect himself, his head was dizzy from not being able to withstand the pain in his stomach.

"To..please stop....."

"I.please...."

A torrential rain appeared in this forest as if weeping for those who had left this world.

Suddenly a teleportation circle appeared around Rhart, he was puzzled as to why this magic could appear all of a sudden.

"A...what is this?!"

Seeing the magic-circle surrounding Rhart being exposed, made a small smile on Rudolph's face. Rhart who did not understand it all saw Rudolph being thrown so hard that his body bounced so far away.

Rudolph, realizing this was the end, gave up everything, even his own life, for his best friend, he shed his last drop of tears mixed with the torrent of rain.

"DON'TKKK!!!!"

This teleportation circle brought him into the royal room of the eastern palace, as soon as the royal floor was filled with blood, Rhart saw not only himself who was there but the other two commanders as well, too, Cleus and Ther both of them were also in a terrible condition.

At first glance Rhart heard the king say 'Take them for treatment'

And Rhart's consciousness disappeared

Rhart then woke up in the middle of a patient's room in an eastern royal health center, still sick but not as bad as before. To his right and left lay Cleus and Ther who were being treated together with him.

He has no understanding of this incident at all, the only thing he could capture was why the royal party had clearly sent them to a forest of death where no one expected to go and also why at the last moment it was only the squad commanders the saved.

Emotions and anger ruled over Rhart who did not understand the situation at all. He had to wait a few days until he could recover and be able to know everything.

After the three of them recovered, outside the Rhart health center asked the two of them a fundamental question

"What happened to our mission?"

"Mi.misi.kita failed" Cleus said.

"What do you mean fail?"

"By sending a thousand soldiers to die in the forest, huh?!"

Ther started talking

"Only we are saved from this"

Rhart left the two of them and went towards the royal palace. Arriving there he was forbidden to enter further into the royal room, he was held at the entrance by two royal guards

"Hey! what-what's this?!"

"Let me in!"

One of the guards spoke to him

""Sorry Old Rhart, the current King is nowhere to be found"

"Huh?!"

"Why is that?!"

"The king is taking care of a business"

"Urusan?!"

"Compared to that, I want to know why you sent us into that deadly forest"

"hey-hey!"

The guards force Rhart to leave the palace. Rhart who was confused in anger stepped his feet away from the palace.

He went to his house and at the front door was waiting for Cleus and Ther to speak to him.

"Rhart we need to talk to you"

Rhart agreed to speak with his two co-commanders. They sat on the couch while Rhart prepared a warm tea for them.

"So what do you want to talk about?"

"It's about the events in the Dawn Forest forest" Ther said

"?!"

"Ugh"

"Hey are you okay?" Ask Cleus

Rhart recalled each of those horrific events after he had not thought about them during his treatment.

"A.me.nothing"

"We know the events in the forest are out of our control."

"Yes" Rhart agreed.

"What.we are only told to die for the purpose of serving the kingdom?" ask Rhart.

"I don't think I can give any opinion, because all the members of my squad and Ther are dead too."

"?!"

"I'm getting suspicious of the royal side.."

"Rhart?"

"Cleus, if this is not intentional there is no basis for it, all I can think of is that it is a premeditated act!"

"How could the royal side kill its own knights, right?" Refute Cleus.

"A. I don't know, but this is how I feel about this reality!"

"You can't depend on how you feel."

"It violates the code of chivalry" Ther said

"It's like this I don't care what the code of ethics is!"

"That's just an excuse so we don't bring any further on this matter!"

"I lost my best friend, maybe you lost someone valuable too!"

"What to do with those who have died?!"

"Are we keeping those innocent people quiet?!"

Rhart's emotional outburst made him shout in his words.

"..."

"I know Rhart, as you said earlier I and Ther also lost our closest people" Cleus said

"Maybe our sadness, our resentment, our anger are the same at this moment."

"So we want to invite you to make a plan" he continued.

"Plan?"

"We will call the royal knights to hold a meeting together with us" Ther said

"Meet?"

"Don't it have to be done under royal supervision?"

"Not really, that's why we have secret and closed meetings in hidden places too."

"Hmmm"

"What are we gonna talk about?"

"About this problem." replied Ther

"All right."

Finally the three of them agreed to hold a secret meeting with the royal knights.

The day of the meeting arrived the three commanders were present along with several representatives of the royal knight one of whom was named Korthes.

The meeting was held in an empty house far from the downtown crowd. The meeting opened with discussion of mission issues during the mission in the Dawn Forest forest, all six members of the meeting agreed that it was the king's fault for ordering the completion of an impossible mission that could not have been completed from the beginning. And they all agreed that they planned to overthrow and replace their current leader for the sake of justice the fallen knights completed the futile mission.

Plan after plan they prepared, and the final decision was that they would start doing their plans at the city fesfival next year just as the event was closing. Day after day passed by nothing unusual but one day Rhert, Cheus, and Ther were called the King.

No wind no rain, the King decided to dismiss the three of them from the royal knight membership, the three of them were not surprised and also did not ask why the King did this. It was their hatred and anger that made their attitude cold even while coming out of the royal room.

The three of them did not care about anything other than overthrowing the kingdom for having done so arbitrarily to his own knights. Since then they have always been together so that the plan can be successful, even though their relationship with the royal knights has been broken, but the results of the meeting they have held do not change anything because of the plan, the purpose, the goal, and the end result was clearly planned in their minds.

The young knight was the leader of the plot to overthrow this kingdom, he mingled as usual in the kingdom like an ordinary royal knight. But he has a high idealism and is able to hold fast to what he believes, he did not hesitate to wear the mask needed for the achievement of the goal and so that the government does not suspect and arrest him.

He secretly spreads his plans and goals to the other knights neatly and unknown even he prepares prevention by bringing memory-busting potions if the persuasion does not work, but most knights agreed and cooperated with the Kortes so that more and more soldiers participated in the overthrow of the kingdom.

As time passed, Rhart realized that he was reminded of the advice he had received from Rudolph that he 'Shouldn't decide if he didn't know the truth'.

Those words he had long forgotten because of his hatred for King Tarnatos, he had more frequent dialogue with his two friends and their paths of thought slowly began to change as well.

They are not aware of the consequences of their actions later, by overthrowing the kingdom means indeed violently defending the rights of the knights but surely the people who will feel the terror of the knights.

They decided to change their plans but the power of their relationship with the knights had been completely cut off, while more and more knights would carry out the plan.

The choice that benefits one side is indeed interesting, though, but to choose it must be with a one-sided and selfish decision only looks good in front of the opposite unfortunate choice must require sacrifice or even self-esteem stepped on to create a peaceful atmosphere in the future.
