Towards the Unbeatable

Towards the Unbeatable
Act 160: Is There Hope?

"There was once an adventurer who came to our village." The young man began to explain.

Kibo certainly noticed how the story will be told by the young man.

"But the arrival of the adventurers brought bad things to our village ...."

"Bad thing?"

The young man nodded. "Our village was plundered, the valuables belonging to the villagers, the shops, and even the livestock, were all taken by them ...."

Kibo heard something strange in the story of this young man. "Tu-wait .. Then they are not adventurers but robbers, right?"

"Yes sir, but before the robbers carried out their plan, they disguised themselves first as adventurers and lived near our village ...."

"We had no premonition whatsoever, other than indeed seeing them as adventurers from afar, in groups as well. In fact, their arrival was welcomed by the residents because they also had time to socialize with the residents."

"God ...." Kibo did not expect him to hear a story like this.

"They had stayed for three days, before we had time to realize it, he said, they wore face masks and all-black clothes on the third night and began their hidden plan of looting all the places in the village" he said.

"We could not anticipate this incident at all, nor could the entire population defend themselves, for which we could only surrender when the sheep-furred robbers attacked us."

"That's a good thing that many robbers did not take the lives of the people here."

"So that's why you guys are acting like this? Because of that past incident?" kibo Terka.

The young man nodded.

Kibo finally understood why the residents here look at foreigners or adventurers who come to their village like that, because they have a shadow of the dark past.

Anyone will definitely remember the past events, if indeed similar things happen in the future.

Now Kibo can judge for itself that indeed today the villagers feel traumatized by the arrival of robbers disguised as adventurers, so it feels that now in the eyes of everyone in this village every adventurer is worth suspecting, they do not want to repeat the same mistake, which is not fully alert.

Now Kibo has fully figured out the reason why they behave that way.

"So yeah .. so you guys increase alertness ...."

The young man did not speak anything which meant Kibo's statement was correct.

Kibo realized that if this had been so, it must have been a lesson for all the villagers, he could accept the treatment and not think about it anymore.

"I understand .. forgive us if our presence makes you restless," Kibo said, looking down.

"Thanks ... chief .. you young man ...."

Kibo obeyed what the old grandfather had ordered, he raised his head again.

It feels like there is nothing wrong here either from the villagers or the Kibo group itself, this is just a pure feeling of vigilance.

"Village Head!"

Then from the direction of the bamboo area came back one father-father who had a beard and mustache around his face, thin and neatly impressed.

"Village Chief?" Kibo just found out about this.

"Is Grandfather the Village Chief here?"

The old man smiled. "Yes ... child .. young ...."

When the fathers came he immediately invited the grandfather to speak. "Where is the Village Chief? I'm afraid you're going too far from this village and can't come back."

"Hush! I still ... remember ... with the village ... which ... ku .. lead yourself," replied the Grandfather slowly.

"W-is there a quickest road around here leading to near the center of the western royal city?" Kibo asked like that because it was possible that the Village Chief knew the fastest way there.

"Fastest street?" The fathers answered the question Kibo asked the grandfather.

"To-please .. je-obviously .. kan .. to him.." Pinta Grandpa Desa Head was to the Father who had just come.

The thinly clenched Father understood and finally replaced the question that the Village Chief Grandfather should have answered.

"Gentlemen inquired about the fastest road on the way to near the center of the western kingdom right?" asked the father to confirm Kibo's question.

Kibo nodded his head, this time hoping that his answer was in line with what he expected, because otherwise he could not do anything more.

"If it were ...."
