Looking for a New Job

"Vara, why haven't you been at work lately?" ask Rani.

Vara who just returned to his desk looked at Mbak Rani with guilt because so often asked Mbak Rani to replace him to do Vara's work. Vara realized, that lately, he did feel like he was ignoring his work, making the work more piled up than usual. Vara also could no longer every day overtime, because it felt bad for Viceroy who felt objected if Vara overtime. So that Vara could only overtime when Viceroy did not pick him up on time because there was still other business.

"Have you had a job interview lately somewhere else?" ask Rani.

"That's how it is, Ma'am," replied Vara briefly.

Vara was forced to lie to cover up the truth. She could not say that she did not go to work much because she was too busy hunting pleasure with her husband. It is not yet time for Vara to announce her marriage, plus Viceroy who has been betrothed again by her mother, becomes a big obstacle for Vara. Vara is eager to announce her wedding, maybe hold a simple wedding party at one of the restaurants on the beach, then invite her friends and especially her office friends. But in retrospect, it felt Viceroy was too good to show off. Moreover, Vara is also not a person who likes to show off.  What if there's another woman who's attracted to Viceroy's charm?

It's hard to have a husband so handsome, then many are smitten.

"It doesn't matter if there are other places that are better prospects in the future, there is a career level, really no problem, Vara," Mbak Rani advised.

"Yes Ma'am, I honestly think about Alya's words" said Vara. 

"Alya says, my degree is redundant. I also felt like I was walking in place. Not to mention until now I have not also been able to SK appointment permanent employees," continued Vara.

Rani's brother saw a look of sadness from Vara's eyes. As a long-time employee at Victory Group, somehow Vara has not been withdrawn as a permanent employee.

"Vara, in life, certainty is important! People who are dating just need certainty to be married, do not want to just be taken to and fro without the purpose of Vara," said Mbak Rani. "How, has your boyfriend been in the direction of the conversation taken your relationship to a more serious level?" ask Rani.

"Ah, I'm sorry Vara, just ignore my words, I sound like I'm meddling in your affairs, but I'm definitely just trying to give you a little enlightenment, because I see you as a confused person myself," mama Rani.

"Yes, Ma'am," said Vara.

"Loh, Ms Rani knew Mr Ryo before?" ask Vara.

"Yes, Mr. Ryo used to be my neighbor, when he was still contracting a house in my home area. Mr. Ryo my younger brother, yes, my husband's hangout friend also turned out, who could have guessed that years later he was this successful," replied Rani.

"Yes, but I know myself, even though I am Mr. Ryo's innate person, I cannot possibly do as I please, I really know myself, Vara," Rani continued.

"Sir, really I just know now, it turns out that Mrs Rani and Mr. Ryo were once neighbors" said Vara.

"Yes, but now Mr. Ryo has different levels, it is not like Ryo who I knew a dozen years ago," recalls Mbak Rani.

"Yes Ma'am, Mr. Ryo can only be admired" commented Vara.

Vara really does not know, if what he did is true, he has already lied by saying that he was so busy looking for another job. If this is the case, inevitably, Vara must try to find a job elsewhere.

Quietly Vara tried to spread back his memoirs to several companies that open job vacancies. Somehow Vara felt jealous of Ozy who could work in a large company, with lucrative salaries and bonuses, despite having a fierce boss like a monster, for Vara it was natural. His name was paid to work and scolded. 

Mr. Ryo also never sounded angry because there was a big project that did not succeed, making the company atmosphere so tense. That's the news in the office.

It's been wet to lie like this, so it's better to just find a real job. Seven years of work without any clarity of staffing status makes Vara have to make a decision. Vara had to leave her comfort zone to find another job. A job that could sustain his life. He must find a job that can give him more income, new challenges, and give new experiences.
