The Marrying Bet

The Marrying Bet
Skip Work

Vara was reluctant to get out of bed, sleeping far away at night made him wake up late. The clock was showing at nine in the morning when Vara checked the clock on the phone. Vara was just about to get off the bed, but Viceroy immediately held her back.

"Just skip work" said Viceroy, who hugged Vara again.

Vara chuckled, "I never even skipped school before."

"Yes, I know, you're a diligent child" Viceroy said.

"Did you know, for seven years of work, my attendance list was always the best among all employees?" said Vara proud of himself.

"Eat it, skip it, diligent employee," Viceroy chuckled. "Once in a while you need a break, don't work on it."

...*****...

The shopping center visited by Vara and Viceroy is quite crowded with visitors because it is approaching lunchtime. They soon entered a Japanese restaurant for lunch together.

"Look Viceroy, I'm the deal, today I payday! Just eat what you want, I'm rich!" Vara chuckles.

"What's your salary, 'til you brag like this?" ask Viceroy.

"My face was five commas, five days straight into a coma, haha..," Vara laughed.

Viceroy smiled looking at Vara who looked always cheerful. The waiter immediately recorded their order. Viceroy reactivated his phone while waiting for their order to arrive. His two phones vibrated violently like they were about to explode, so many notifications.

Vara just realized, that for a man who looks like 'unemployment of many events' like Viceroy, having three smartphones certainly seems excessive. But in this day and age, it is not surprising that everyone can have more than one smart phone.

Viceroy seems busy struggling in front of the screen of his phone, his fingers seem to be typing agilely on a wide flat screen. He immediately put his phone on the table as soon as their food order arrived.

"There's a lot you've ordered, Vara," Viceroy said.

"Viceroy, didn't I tell you, 'face the reality is hard', so eat a lot!" sahut Vara began to taste all the food on the table.

Viceroy smiled when he saw Vara who seemed busy chewing one by one the various sushi he ordered. Viceroy was thrilled to see Vara seem so enthusiastic every time she tried different sushi. The expression is predictable, if the food is less liked Vara, Vara will stop eating it. Then he switched to another sushi. Once it feels good, Vara again adds the same menu up to three times.

"Viceroy, this one is so delicious, you have to eat it too" Vara said.

"You seem to be a good match for a culinary host" Viceroy said. "Your appetite is so big, but why are you still skinny, huh?" Viceroy laughs.

"I think this is a gift, out there so many women who diet desperately, even complain only drinking water can be fat," said Vara.

Viceroy laughed again, seeing Vara so enjoying her food made Viceroy's appetite aroused as well.

After eating, Vara also invited Viceroy to accompany her to the clothing store, Vara was seen looking at the clothes. Viceroy followed Vara, wherever she went. Vara picked up a few pieces of clothing, checked the details, then paid them to the cashier. Viceroy wondered, usually women always go around to and fro, comparing all the clothes before deciding which one to buy.

Viceroy once accompanied Regina to choose a dress. Regina was busy trying on dozens of dresses, as if Regina was a magician on stage, wearing a lightning-fast dress, and confusion over which one to choose.

"Roy, do you think that's good, this magenta red or this fuschia?" regina asked showing her two dresses in her hands.

Two dresses were painstakingly selected, after going through a selective selection process. Viceroy furrowed his eyebrows, two dresses of similar color and the model looked the same.

"Pink is good" pointed Viceroy.

"It's magenta, Roy!" Regina rolled her eyeballs.

"Which better do you think?" insist Regina.

"That's it," pointed Viceroy at the dress that Regina said was fuschia-colored.

"I think this magenta color is better Roy" Regina said.

"Yes, that's good too" Viceroy said.

"But this model is more elegant" Regina said.

"Everything is good, you fit in all those dresses" Viceroy said.

"Oh Roy, your opinion is completely useless!" chirps Regina.

Regina did not buy the dress. She chose to go to a designer to design the dress she wanted.

While Viceroy had to endure the annoyance that Regina was wasting her time. From that moment Viceroy told him that Regina had asked him to accompany her in search of anything. Regina is a very complicated person. Totally inversely proportional to Vara.

Vara is seen entering the perfume shop, Viceroy is still following her.

"Viceroy, do you like this scent?" tanya Vara thrust a white paper sprayed with fragrances by the salesperson at the perfume shop.

"Yes, that's fine" replied Viceroy.

"Your brother, boy or girl?" ask Vara.

"Male," replied Viceroy.

"That means fitting, look, there's a promo, buy two perfumes get four!" said Vara.

"Why buy so much perfume?" asked Viceroy in astonishment.

"Two women's perfumes for me and your mother, one for you, and another for your sister, instead of buying one can't discount the price, buy a lot can be a pretty decent cut," sahut Vara enthusiastically brought four bottles of perfume to the cash register.

Vara smiled, hefty, can discount up to two million to buy four pieces of perfume.

"I don't know what to give your mother and sister a gift for" Vara said.

"So, you're gonna bribe my mom and brother?" Viceroy chuckles.

"Your mother is so fragrant, she must love fragrances" said Vara.

Viceroy smiled, he did not expect Vara to be so considerate.

"Here, a gift for you, thank you for accompanying me shopping, Viceroy," said Vara, handing Viceroy a paper bag of perfume.

"Thank you" replied Viceroy.

They rushed from the perfume shop to the parking lot on the basement floor.

"Vara, just wait here, I'll get my motorcycle there," Viceroy said, leaving Vara near the basement entrance.

"Well, Vara!" someone called Vara.
