Rejected Application

Viceroy looked straight at the woman enjoying dinner at a fancy restaurant. The woman had beautiful skin with long shiny copper hair, her tall and slender body was always wrapped in beautiful dresses that amazed anyone who saw her. 

The woman had been close to him for the past two years. Women who become business partners because they are involved in the same project. Besides being beautiful, this smart woman also works as an architect. Especially for Viceroy who in recent years is developing a business in the property sector, the presence of the woman really helped him. Twenty-seven-year-old woman who could impress a Viceroy. For Viceroy, beautiful women were many, but beautiful, intelligent, and attractive women were only these in front of him.

"Roy, there's something important that I have to tell you," the woman said as she commented with a faint smile.

"Yes, I also have important things to say to you, Regina," Viceroy said.

"Alright, let's hear what's important you want to say" Regina said.

"Regina, you must know I'm a person who doesn't like to mince words" Viceroy said with a look that did not escape the charming woman.

"We've been close for two years now we'd better get married" the man continued.

Regina put her fork on the side of the plate. He nodded at the words of the man before him.

"Roy, what do you mean?" ask Regina not to understand.

"I'm comfortable with you, we better get married" replied Viceroy.

Regina put on her smile, this man before her is indeed always full of surprises.

"Roy, we're not even dating, how can we get married?" ask Regina.

"Then, we'll just go on a date after marriage," Viceroy replied as he chewed on his steak meat.

"Roy, it seems that you misrepresented our closeness" Regina said, laughing.

"Our closeness is purely down to business, after all I'm not interested in marriage. I'm so young and I have so much to do. There are still many dreams I haven't achieved, in essence, I'm not ready to commit!" reply Regina diplomatically.

Viceroy was still staring at Regina with a feeling of disappointment that she had to cover up well. 

"So, what's the important thing you're going to say?" viceroy asked to shift their subject.

"I'm going to go back to school, I have to improve my experience" Regina replied.

"You don't have to wait for me" Regina said. "After all, to be honest, all this time I never felt attracted to you as a man, to me you were a good business partner" Regina continued.

Regina could see the disappointment emanating from the look in Viceroy's eyes. However, Regina realized that the words she was saying were the truth. He was twenty-seven years old, he was too young, and did not want to commit. If the man misrepresents their closeness, it's Viceroy's own fault. Regina is close to all men, because she is very happy to be admired, let alone the results of her work. As a perfectionist, of course, he thirsts for perfection. After all for Regina, Viceroy certainly doesn't deserve him. A man who has just started a business and is still so far from the benchmark of a man's success for Regina.

"Thank you for the dinner, Viceroy, I'm leaving now, hopefully we can work together again next time" Regina said, shaking Viceroy's hand.

"Yes, may all your dreams be achieved" Viceroy said.

"If you want to get married, get married. I'll give you your happiness Viceroy" Regina said goodbye.

Regina immediately entered the taxi she booked, she did not want Viceroy to drive her to the airport. Regina realized that she was never willing to take advantage of the good of others for her own personal gain. He really did not think that Viceroy misinterpreted their closeness all this time. The man even got carried away with his feelings and invited him to marry. There is no marriage in Regina's dictionary and Viceroy did something wrong by proposing to her.

Viceroy felt very disappointed, he did not expect that his proposal led to such a firm rejection. Though he had prepared himself in order to propose Regina. They do not date because they are close because of business interests. True to what Regina said, Viceroy misrepresented their closeness. Viceroy never officially dated any woman. She did not have time to date because she was so busy taking care of her work. 

His phone shook, he stared lazily at the name on the flat screen.

"Yes" she replied coldly.

"So, when are you getting married?" ask caller.

"I'll get married, as soon as possible" replied Viceroy.

"Don't forget, you'll have to hand over the land to me if you don't get married" said Viceroy.

"I'm a man who's unflinching my words, and you're ready to give up your company for me" Viceroy concluded.

Viceroy let out a heavy sigh, he took out a tiny black box from inside his pants pocket. Staring at the nanar of a diamond ring that was supposed to belong to Regina, if the woman received her proposal.

Viceroy really felt very silly and his pride was so hurt. It turns out that Regina had only considered him nothing more than a business partner. 

If he had not made a ridiculous deal with the person who called him earlier, he certainly did not have to be this stupid. He must find someone who is willing to marry him in the near future. Otherwise, he would lose the private land he already had.
