The Marrying Bet

The Marrying Bet
Deal

Vara immediately picked up her lunchbox ration in the office pantry. The atmosphere of the pantry looks crowded, the women are busy gossiping while enjoying their lunch.

"Have you heard the news that Mr. Ryo is getting married?" tanya Alya started their gossip.

"Seriously? Married to whom?" ask Dinda enthusiastically.

"For sure with women!" Imel.

Vara was stunned to hear his gossipy office friends enthusiastically, it turned out to be true that was said by many people that the walls of this company have ears.

"The woman who will marry Mr. Ryo must be an amazing woman! Mr. Ryo is so handsome, young, and rich, his future wife must be from the upper class" said Alya.

Vara immediately returned to his study, he decided to have lunch in his room only. He felt an unwarranted heartache. He is not even a person Mr Ryo, but why is he so hurt because Mr Ryo is getting married?

Is it because for seven years he so adored Pak Ryo?

So that he feels very sorry Mr. Ryo will release his bachelor status.

Vara ate her lunch unappetizingly while staring blankly at her monitor screen. Somehow he felt a little sorry for making a deal with a man he had just met again after fifteen years they had never met. A strange man who was hostile to her during her school years accused her of stealing her lip balm.

Vara did give a V sign for all the items he had as a marker that the items were his. He really did not think, how could there be a young man who fires a beard just because of losing lip balm. Ransack all of her classmates bags just to look for lip moisturizer! Vara suspects that the man looks so bad.

There were pads in his bag too!

Vara actually felt her blood pressure rise if she had to remember the incident. Two nights ago he even made a deal with the man.

"I need a partner to get married, not a marriage in general, just to change the status on the resident's card" Viceroy explained to Vara.

"No party will benefit and no party will be harmed, I dare to guarantee it" continued Viceroy.

"When are you getting married?" ask Vara.

"If possible before the end of the month" replied Viceroy.

"It's just a wedding on paper, you mean like that?" ask Vara again.

Viceroy nodded.

"Let's just say we're in business" Viceroy said.

Vara exited the cafe room, she headed to the open space. Picked up his cigarette box, then lit a cigarette. He sat there enjoying the smoke coming out of his mouth.

Is the decision right?

Married a man who suddenly reappeared in her life. It seemed that his offer sounded very attractive because he indeed only needed status. It looks so easy and perfect for Vara.

Was God helping her through the man who was currently watching her from his seat?

Vara immediately put out his cigarette, he rushed back to where Viceroy was sitting waiting for him.

"All right, let's get married, '" said Vara.

"I'll prepare all our wedding documents, you just need to prepare the documents that must be fulfilled" Viceroy said.

"All right" replied Vara.

"For anything else we'll discuss further, I'll send you a draft" Viceroy said.

"Oh, yes, there's one thing you have to do Viceroy" Vara said.

"Do you want compensation money?" ask Viceroy.

"No, you have to see my parents" replied Vara.
