The Marrying Bet

The Marrying Bet
Vara Cuisine

Vara did not expect Viceroy to have a house that is not too big, but has a large yard. There is a mini garden planted with tomato trees, chili trees, cucumbers, peppers, basil, potatoes, and various types of rhizomes and onions. There are also hydroponic installations planted with watercress and mustard. In addition to fish ponds, there is also a pond that contains freshwater shrimp.

Viceroy catches fish and freshwater shrimp from the pond using grafts. While Vara immediately prepared the ingredients from the mini garden in the yard, then brought all the ingredients to the kitchen. Vara of course can cook because he had taken a cooking course on request from his mother. Viceroy was stunned, watching Vara who was busy cleaning fish and shrimp.

"Is there anything I can help you with?" asked Viceroy to approach Vara.

"Is there rice?" ask Vara. "Can you cook rice?" ask Vara.

Viceroy nodded, fortunately he had prepared all the necessities of the house before deciding to occupy this house.

Viceroy smiled, he did not expect that he would bring Vara to live in the house of his dreams. The house was designed by Regina according to Viceroy's wishes. Viceroy wanted a simple home that was comfortable, away from the crowds and really very private. He wanted to spend his precious time with Regina. He had imagined cooking with Regina in their modern and complete kitchen. Joking and making out between their cooking activities. After Viceroy thought it through, Regina would naturally not be willing to do that. The woman did not even want to eat, let alone cook. It was different with Vara. Vara seemed to enjoy her cooking time so much, in the eyes of the current Viceroy, Vara really looked like an angel who stopped by in the kitchen, cooking for her.

Viceroy immediately hugged Vara from behind, then kissed the back of Vara's neck.

"Viceroy," Vara was amused.

Viceroy smiled, then looked towards Vara.

"Sit sweet first, yes, soon ready," said Vara as he pushed Viceroy who was hunting his lips.

Viceroy sat waiting at the dinner table, stunned because Vara was really good at serving food. Although Vara only cooks fried fish and shrimp, lalapan and sambal, but it really makes Viceroy flowery.

Viceroy immediately tasted Vara's cuisine, especially sambal that looks tempting. Viceroy closed his eyes, hissing because of the spicy taste that so delicious filled his mouth.

"I really didn't know you could cook" Viceroy said.

"Don't I tell you I've been to a cooking course?" vara said as she poured mineral water into Viceroy's glass.

Viceroy's face turned red, and the sweat began to wet his forehead.

"Is it so spicy?" ask Vara.

Vara was pleased to hear Viceroy's praise.

"Did you remember, when I was in school, I always brought a lot of food that I cooked myself?" said Vara.

"really? I thought it was your mother's cooking" Viceroy said.

"My mother never cooked, there was already a catering subscription" Vara said. "So, usually I cook myself for my breakfast, if I don't have time to eat at home, I take it to school" continued Vara.

"Whoever, I regret never having tasted your cooking before" Viceroy recalled.

Vara laughing.

"I don't mind cooking every day, just so you eat it" Vara said.

Viceroy was touched to hear Vara's words, somehow to vent his now flowery feelings.

...*****...

Viceroy rode a motorbike towards the pier which was under the hill, quite far from his home. The speed boat driver immediately greeted Viceroy, and immediately escorted the man into the middle of the vast ocean.

Viceroy took out a black box containing a diamond ring. The ring she prepared for Regina if she accepted her proposal. Regina assumes that Viceroy misrepresented their closeness. Regina leaves him and asks Viceroy not to wait.

It was hard for Viceroy to throw away a ring that cost the equivalent of one luxury apartment unit in the property business he was running.

He casts the ring, along with all his feelings for Regina into the vast ocean stretching before him. At first he thought there were no more women 'over' than Regina. Only Regina deserves her. But his assumption is completely wrong.

A woman who doesn't care who Viceroy is and doesn't care about his background, makes him fall in love.
