The Marrying Bet
Marriage Rejection

Vara had just woken up from her sleep after hearing the scolding from her mother. Mother seemed ready to pack the things she would bring home.

It has been more than two weeks that I stopped talking to Vara as a form of his frustration with their child. He was upset because Vara refused the match that he had worked so hard to overcome.

The man who will be betrothed to Vara is still the son of his old friend. You have indeed promised to match Vara with the man, in accordance with the promise between the Father and the man's parents. Moreover, the age of Vara had stepped on the head of three, should Vara no longer need to refuse the matchmaking again.

Seven years ago, the man indeed refused when the match was made, arguing that the man already had another heart patch. The man married the woman of his choice of heart, but in the third year, the man's marriage did not go smoothly, until finally the divorce occurred. Now, the man actually came back to ask Vara.

The man was named Riko, a childless widower, thirty-seven years old. Riko used to look at Vara with one eye. This happened because Vara was considered not beautiful and not attractive at all.

Riko was surprised, because seven years later, Vara actually looks more charming than their meeting seven years ago.

"Vara, what's your busy life lately?" riko asked when she met Vara with four eyes.

"I'm still busy working" replied Vara.

"If we get married later, I want you to stop working and just focus on me" said the man looking straight at Vara.

"My previous marriage failed because of my wife's busy work, but she knew very well that the main task of a wife is to accompany her husband completely," continued Riko.

Vara smiled cynically, she was completely inexhaustible, a man who had not even become her husband seemed to have fallen out of line with her thoughts. If they continued this matchmaking, of course this man would definitely be widowed a second time.

"Riko, I know, seven years ago you rejected our arranged marriage. I received everything with a chest. And now it's my turn to refuse this match, I hope you accept it too" Vara said as she looked at Riko.

Riko's expression seemed to harden, he stared intently.

"If you're upset that seven years ago I refused this match, I'm really sorry. I was wrong because I didn't choose you at the time" Riko said.

"You haven't even been married until now, doesn't that mean you've been waiting for me all this time?" Riko continued.

Vara just smiled hearing Riko's words.

Vara still commented on her smile, she of course still harbored heartache on the man who had hurt her pride. Vara still remembers how this man said that he refused an arranged marriage because he already had a lover who he would marry. The man eventually married the woman who is now his ex-wife. Now this guy wants to come back?

"Riko, we used to be matchless, not even now" replied Vara.

"I used to be able to hold my chest, and now, you also have to be breastfed" Vara continued.

He sipped his iced coffee, still looking at Riko who was looking down holding back a feeling of annoyance. I don't know why Vara felt a sense of satisfaction seeing Riko who looked down.

"Related," replied Vara.

"All right," said Riko.

At that time, Vara thought by rejecting Riko the problem was finished, but apparently he was wrong. Apparently, the father had sold their house to Riko as a form of seriousness of the matchmaking. He had planned to return home after Vara married Riko. Hence, I was so angry when I heard that Vara refused the match.

You are very sad, because Riko refused when the father returned Riko's money. But for Riko, so or not the matchmaking, Riko had bought Vara's parents' house.

I sat at the dinner table watching the news on television. For Vara, maybe this is the right time to end his cold war with father.

"Sir, Vara is sorry" Vara told the father.

He just kept quiet, his eyes could not be separated from the television he was watching.

"Sir, Vara can't marry Riko, because Riko is not Vara's mate" Vara said.

Dad looked towards Vara, the middle-aged man was initially caught off guard.

"Then, who's your soul mate?" ask father.

Vara rolled her eyeballs.

"You should be married and have children, not busy pursuing your job! What did your company give you until you were so loyal?" the voice of the father sounded high.

Mother immediately approached the two, it was still so early, but the son and father had fought again.

"Mr, Vara is getting married! But not with Riko!" said Vara.

You just grunt heavily, the man of course doubted his daughter who had never even introduced any man because he was too busy working.

You even took the initiative to match Vara, because you feel sorry because Vara seems depressed because seven years ago his match with Riko led to rejection.

"Yes, bring the man to this house before the end of the month. If until the end of this month you're not married either, you should come home with Mom and Dad!" mr. glared sharply.

"Okay, sir, just wait!" said Vara.
