The Marrying Bet

The Marrying Bet
Cake Hunting

Vara walks through the traditional market. Suddenly Mrs Meneer aka Queen Mother aka Viceroy's mother sent another impromptu task to Vara. This time the test was not a list of magical items. The Queen Mother told Vara to look for traditional cakes with similar but not the same specifications.

Again Vara gets a strange task. Did Viceroy's mother really like those kinds of things? It was enough of the woman's appearance that for Vara was quite strange. Does Viceroy's brother look weird too? Vara amuses herself by imagining Viceroy's sister looking like Viceroy, the man wearing a crystal-studded shirt and pants, and wearing a gothic makeup.

Vara rushed towards the merchant's stall peddling traditional cakes. Traditional cakes are more unique than modern cakes. Most of the ingredients used, as well as the processing process is simpler than modern pastries.

The development of the era of making traditional cakes does not seem to have an exclusive place. There is no cake shop that sells traditional pastries except in traditional markets. Moreover, the cakes are also usually only a dish that is so much in demand at certain moments, such as the fasting month. Vara likes to hunt for snacks for breaking the fast, various types of traditional pastries are available at the annual market held for an entire month. Starting from various types of talam cakes, mud cakes, fried foods, to many kolak sold by traders.

"Search for what, son?" asked a middle-aged woman to see that Vara looked confused.

Vara looked at the middle-aged woman waiting for her traditional cookie stall.

"Mother, may I choose the one wrapped in the banana leaf, as well as that one, Mom?" tanya Vara pointed at the merchandise of the mother of the cake seller.

"You know what this cake is, son?" ask the woman kindly, then take the two cakes that Vara pointed to.

"I have to open the contents first, Mom, so I can know what the cake is, because the two look similar" replied Vara diplomatically.

Vara opened the two, then smiled. These two traditional cakes are very similar, but the contents are much different.

"Can I taste it?" ask Vara enthusiastically.

"Please," said the mother of the cake seller thrusting a plastic spoon to Vara.

Vara immediately tasted the cake in front of him enthusiastically.

"Enak once," said Vara stunned. "Mom do it yourself or take care of it, ma'am?" ask Vara.

"Make my own thing" replied the mother kindly.

"May you have another chip, ma'am?" ask Vara.

"Please, you seem to like traditional cakes" replied the mother.

"True, I prefer traditional pastries to modern cakes" Vara said as if finding treasure.

"Mom, please pack all, yes, Mother's cakes are all very tasty," continued Vara.

"You wanna throw a party?" ask the cake seller to be surprised.

"I love everything, Mom, thank you for selling good food" Vara said.

Vara bought all the cakes sold by the cake dealer. Vara even helped the merchant wrap all the cookies. With the prize cash from an internal badminton tournament, Vara buys all the cakes and intends to hand them out to her office friends.

Vara left two types of cakes that became the test material.

"Well, Vara, where do you buy the cake?" ask Mbak Rani and friends who tasted the cake that Vara bought.

"Buy at the center of the cake in the Market PS, Mbak, the seller is beautiful, white skin, and still looks tight even though he is old," replied Vara.

Rani's brother furrowed his brows.

"Which side, Vara?" ask Rani curious.

"The left-most field" replied Vara.

Mbak Rani as a market adventurer and traditional culinary lovers know exactly, there is no cake seller that is in accordance with the description of Vara. There is no such beautiful cake seller in the center of PS Market cake sellers.

"Thank you, Vara, the cakes are delicious," Alya said as she approached Vara.

"Yes, equally," said Vara.

"Oh my goodness, Vara, when he won the race, the treat was just pastries like this" said Dinda.

"Vara, later cut the goat if you are appointed as a permanent employee," Alya chimed in while chuckling.

At once Vara was suddenly upset, but he covered it with a cheerful smile.

Meanwhile, Virda has just returned from the market where he conducted his third exam for Roy's wife. Virda could have guessed the woman would definitely come to the PS Market which became the center of the traditional cake hawkers in the city. The face without Virda makeup certainly makes Roy's wife does not recognize him. Virda was lucky that he could call Roy's wife and chat at a glance with such a friendly and polite young woman. Their conversation was indeed very short, but Virda could see the honesty and sincerity that emanated from the woman.

In this third test also this woman is considered Virda passed from unique guesses given by Virda. However, Virda is still unable to accept it because given Ryo's message, that Roy's wife is a scheming, bad woman, and a duitan eye that is very dangerous for their family. The woman was really ambitious to master Roy's treasure. Even if Ryo loses the bet he made, Ryo will also lose his fortune. The presence of that cunning woman really did put their family at risk.

Virda really has to act to get that woman out of Roy's life. Truly, Virda did not want the woman to be his daughter-in-law.
