Vara wondered in his heart, Mr. Ryo did not drive his car to the office, but to another place. Vara wants to talk, but Mr. Ryo seems to be still focused behind the wheel. The car is still traveling at medium speed. Vara's phone rang many times, the names of his office friends changed to contact him. Vara reads the incoming message, hesitant to answer what. He could not admit that he is currently with Mr. Ryo.
The man seemed to be able to read the mind of Vara who had been busy typing and deleted the message.
"Let's just say, you have a task outside the office" said Mr. Ryo.
"Indeed, since when can operational cash staff be outside duty, Mr Ryo?" sahut Vara's.
"Can you not be with me now?" ask Mr. Ryo.
Vara pursed her lips, she just kept silent while replying to the message according to the direction of Mr. Ryo. Vara again wondered, why did Pak Ryo to ask him to go to the outside service like this? Is this man doing tests to consider Vara's staffing status?
"How long have you been working in Victory Group?" asked Mr. Ryo breaking the silence.
Vara was surprised Pak Ryo asked like that.
"This is my seventh year, sir," replied Vara.
Vara became increasingly convinced, that his leadership was conducting staffing tests for him. Vara had indeed heard rumors that the leadership of their company has its own way to test the feasibility of employees who can be appointed as permanent employees.
Is this a test for Vara after seven years of service as a contract employee?
If that is the case, Vara should try to do the best she can.
The car entered a quiet area on its right left presenting a view of lush trees. After traveling for an hour, they finally arrived at the fishing area. There are large pools with gazebos lined up neatly along the murky water pool mixed with mud. This fishing place is also facilitated by restaurants, soup kitchens, outbound locations, fishing equipment rentals, grocery stores, to lodging.
Mr. Ryo was seen entering the fishing gear rental place.
"Can you fish?" ask Mr. Ryo.
"Fishing the commotion I can," replied Vara.
Mr. Ryo smiled, he rented two sets of fishing gear. They immediately headed to the shady gazebo with many lush trees around it. The fishing atmosphere is very quiet, because it is not a holiday, or a weekend.
Mr. Ryo rolled up the sleeves of his white shirt, he looked so deftly put the bait on the hook eyes. Vara tried to cover the gel taste when he saw the bait in the form of worms wriggling in the box.
Vara was stunned to see Mr. Ryo who seemed reliable when throwing a hook into the pool, he was seen stalling the fishing line, then handed the fishing rod to Vara.
"Hold the right one" ordered Mr. Ryo.
The man turned to another fishing rod and did the same.
"Have you ever fished a fish like this?" ask Mr. Ryo.
"It's my first time" replied Vara.
Mr. Ryo put down his fingers, he opened his briefcase, took out a box of cigarettes and a lighter. The man immediately ignited a cigarette and exhaled his smoke into the air.
"I just found out you smoke, Mr. Ryo" Vara said.
"Are you bored right now?" ask Vara.
Mr. Ryo smilingly looked at Vara, then turned back to his fingers.
Vara took the cigarette box and also the lighter. He observed with interest the silver lighter with the engraving of the letter V embossed with small foliage ornaments surrounding the letter. Vara even tried to light the lighter, he was stunned because the fire was so easy to ignite and the fire was stable. In contrast to ordinary gas lighters are colorful, which for Vara is rather difficult to ignite.
Vara could have expected it, this lighter must have been expensive, specially designed. Vara wanted to try Mr. Ryo's cigarette, but he remembered the words of Viceroy, Viceroy's mother did not like women who smoked. What if there was a sudden test call from the woman?
Joran held by Vara moved, apparently there were fish that had eaten bait.
"Oh, how's this?" Vara gasps.
Mr. Ryo immediately snatched the fishing rod from Vara's hand, the man looked so calm as he rolled up the reel and pulled out the fish that had been lured from the pond.
Vara's eyes sparkled as Mr. Ryo stuffed a tilapia into the fish gravel, then moved it into a bucket of clean water.
"Sir Ryo, I just found out, you're a fishing whiz" Vara said.
Mr. Ryo again got a tilapia fish that he immediately moved into the bucket.
"Can you cook?" ask Mr. Ryo.
"Why, Sir?" ask Vara.
"Before lunchtime, cook this fish in the soup kitchen" said Mr. Ryo while looking at his watch.
Vara could not refuse this order of her superior, as this man was the owner of the company. Is this part of the exam given by Mr Ryo?
Mr. Ryo immediately brought a bucket of his catch fish to a public kitchen located not far from the fishing equipment rental. Vara was surprised because the kitchen was so clean and complete. This public kitchen reminds Vara like a kitchen that is used as a location for cooking competition events on television. The concept is the same as the cooking course that Vara used to follow at the request of her mother to fill Vara's free time while still unemployed.
Actually, Vara has been fond of cooking since she was in elementary school. She loves watching cooking shows on television. At home, his mother never cooked, because there are catering services that provide a different breakfast, lunch, and night menu.
So usually Vara cooks himself what he wants to process. Classmates Vara used to be a taste bud of processed cuisine Vara. So no wonder, in the past Vara always brought a lot of food to school and distributed to his classmates.
Vara picked up the ingredients available at the grocery store that was next to the public kitchen building. Mr. Ryo followed Vara who seemed enthusiastic about choosing ingredients for his cooking. When Vara will pay for the ingredients he bought, Mr. Ryo actually told Vara to return to the soup kitchen to start cooking.
After picking up the cooking utensils she needed, Vara immediately headed to the cooking table to start cleaning the tilapia under the running water. Mr. Ryo stood watching Vara as if he was a judge in a cooking competition on television.
Vara also took the time to cook the rice.
"Sir Ryo, do you like spicy?" ask Vara when going to prepare the ingredients to make sambal.
"If the sauce, yes it must be spicy," replied Mr. Ryo briefly.
