Edgar smiled wryly as he responded to a remark from Benjamin just now. He did not take seriously what the man said. "Please. Do whatever makes you feel confident. But let's see who will survive. You don't know me very well, Mr. Royce. Maybe after this we can know more about each other's character. If you really want to marry my daughter, then show me who you really are. I'm not going to be a selfish father, but I also have principles and rules to abide by" explained Edgar with his style of speech that looks calm, polite, but full of authority.

"Don't you hear and know everything about me?" reply Benjamin who also seemed not to be daunted at all when dealing directly with Edgar. Moreover, the two men across ages did have almost the same character. They are not easily provoked by emotions.

"It was just 'he said'. Of course I need a real proof. So, if you have genuine intentions, then it's time to prove yourself. Let's see how strong you can be in loving my daughter" Edgar's challenge sounds much deeper and more serious than ever.

"I've done something like this, even though it doesn't end well. Hope you didn't hire someone to spy on me" Benjamin replied, squinting his eyes.

"I wouldn't do something like that. Let your honesty and sincerity speak. I don't want it until you lie to yourself by pretending to be nice. Therefore, just live your life as usual. Again, I just want to see how capable you are if faced with this situation."

"What should I show you? I thought, there's nothing I need to prove to anyone. Genuine feelings do not have to be exhibited to the world. Without me showing it directly, then everyone will definitely be able to know it clearly. What do you think of yourself, Mr Hillaire? By looking at my body language and just looking at my eyes, you should be able to ascertain what kind of feelings I have for Elle. But if you want to see me like that, that's okay. I'll follow whatever the rules are" Benjamin said with confidence.

Edgar raised his eyebrows. The man's gaze also looked a little strange. But Benjamin was not bothered at all. "All right, Mr. Royce. I think that's enough for today. Go ahead. The exit was over there," Edgar directed his hand towards the slightly open door.

Without saying much, Benjamin turned his back on the body. He walked towards the door. Before he actually came out, the man turned his head back. "If Elle doesn't want to see me yet, then at least let me know how she's doing right now. If you call her later, tell her that I miss her so much" said Benjamin. As much as possible the man controls himself so as not to look excessive. After speaking, Benjamin continued until he completely disappeared from the sight of Edgar, who immediately walked to the door. He made sure that Benjamin had actually gone from there. After that, the door of the room closed tightly. Edgar then reached into the cell phone in the pocket of the shirt he was wearing. The man started to check it.

Benjamin drove the car with a straight forward look. His mind is not bad. It had never been imagined by her, that she would fall in love that deeply towards Autumn. The twenty-two-year-old young girl had become an opium to him. Benjamin felt helpless if he had to stay away from the beautiful gray-eyed girl who was hiding from him.

Mid-autumn has passed. Benjamin must be willing to lose the wonderful delusion of family gathering, while enjoying the warm fireplace in winter. It is possible that the first snow will fall, without the sweet smile of Autumn in the embrace.

Dark skies have enveloped Paris. At about ten in a few minutes, Benjamin was back. The man looked very messed up. His hair and appearance, not as neat as usual always looks and characterizes a Benjamin Royce.

"You just got home, Ben?" asked Aamber who was sitting in the living room.

"I'm waiting for you" Aamber replied as he moved from his seat. He walked over to Benjamin, then stood not far from the man. "Fleur's been looking for you since noon, but you're not around" said the middle-aged woman.

"I'm out. There's important business" said Benjamin looking lazy.

"What about Elle?" ask Aamber curiously.

"Why is that?" Benjamin asked back. A slow laugh just slid in. Laughter full of misery. "Elle, I don't know where she is now" said the man regretfully. "You know Aamber? It feels the same as when I lost track of Samantha. Wh why? Why does the woman I love always leave without a trace?" The smell of liquor was emanating from within the mouth of the gray-eyed man.

"You drunk, Ben?" Aamber held both of Benjamin's arms and held the man.

"I only drank a little, just a few glasses. It won't get me drunk" Benjamin argued. He intended to pass from there, leaving Aamber in the living room. However, just a few steps, Aamber immediately confronted him. "Get aside, Aamber. I don't want to talk much" Benjamin said coldly and flatly.

"Why did you become like this, Ben? Look atyou. You're so fucked up just because Elle left," Aamber shook his head cluelessly. "Would Fleur be afraid and threatened? Your attitude towards that girl is already excessive. Remember, Ben. Fleur is everything to you. He's the one you should prioritize, not the other. Moreover, the girl who is now leaving without giving any news at all and only makes you in turmoil ...."

"Shut your mouth, Aamber!" jolt Benjamin with a fairly high tone. She doesn't usually say that to her daughter's nanny. "I told you, don't bother me right now," Benjamin's voice came back low and even sounded so deep. "However, my relationship with Elle is none of your business" he said.

"It would be my business if it had to do with Fleur!" aamber's words again held Benjamin back. The man turned his head with a look of unfriendly eyes. "If Fleur feels pain, then I feel it too" Aamber said in a trembling voice. He stood right behind Benjamin who was again directing his gaze forward.

"Fleur is my daughter, and there's no way I'm gonna hurt. So, never make it up!" firmly, Benjamin said he addressed the middle-aged woman.
