The Gray Autumn's

The Gray Autumn's
After Already

Arumi who sobbed while looking down, immediately raised her face when she heard Edgar's voice. The gray-eyed man stared coldly at him. A moment later, Edgar turned his gaze to Moedya much colder.

"Please don't misunderstand me," Moedya pinta with a slight movement on her lips. She turned to Arumi who was wiping away the tears that were soaking her cheeks. Darren approaches Autumn. Both of them stand on the steps of the stairs, while watching the bath scene in a drama film. Unfortunately, they did not understand what the three adults were saying, because they spoke Indonesian.

"You know what's the matter between them, Elle?" asked Darren slowly as he glanced at the older brother.

"none. It was just a misunderstanding in the past," Autumn replied without taking her eyes off those who were at the time silent to each other. While Keanu who just appeared there, joined watch the reunion of the sister along with stories from his past.

"Please don't get me wrong, Ed," Moedya said. "I just want the misunderstanding between the three of us to be completely wiped out" the man said.

However, Edgar did not respond to Moedya's remarks. He preferred to cast a glance at Arumi. It has been a long time since they got married, only this time he saw Arumi crying again like that. The mother of Autumn did not express emotions in her heart excessively. However, just by looking at the slowly dripping tears, it had made Edgar understand the feeling that was stirring his wife's heart. For a while, Edgar and Arumi just looked at each other.

"Take it, Arum. Accept," Edgar's heavy voice came back, breaking the silence between them. "I won't be angry. Just accept it" said Edgar again. However, Arumi still looks doubtful.

A moment later, Edgar turned his attention back to Moedya. It must be admitted that he never liked the best friend of his brother-in-law. However, did he have to continue to carry feelings from his past to the present?

A small whisper was heard laughing at Edgar. He is a man who thinks very rationally and is also modern. However, for some reason, for something related to Arumi's past, he seemed to be someone who was very narrow-minded.

"I am well aware that whatever happened in the past, can never be abolished even if I make a very extraordinary request to God" Edgar said.

"One thing you have to remember, Ed," Moedya chimed in. He looked back at Arumi who was now calming down. "You've been wrong to think that I took Arum from you. We met after his return from France. At that time we both fell in love. Isn't that right, Arum?" Moedya looked closely at her former lover decades ago.

However, Arumi preferred not to respond to Moedya's explanation of Edgar.

"You have also been very mistaken to think that Arum betrayed you. But honestly, I feel happy because Arumi came back to me. I should have thanked you for leaving him" Edgar said with a cynical smile.

"Of course, Ed. You know how much I struggled to get to this point" said Arumi lirih.

"You're totally mistaken if you still think that way, Ed," Moedya chimed in. "Twenty years have passed, many things have happened in our lives. For me, it all started when Ranum's mother was gone. From then on, I thought of becoming someone who should be able to guide rather than continue to be guided. I let go of all the odds in my heart and hope to meet Arumi again to finish it. However, even as decades passed, that desire was not accomplished as well. I am grateful to be able to meet Arumi again at this time. Not to reminisce about our past, but to close and finish something that is still a wedge in the heart" said Moedya at length.

"Ed, I know you're a good man and very responsible. That's why Arumi chose you, not another man. I was happy and calm, because Arumi was in the hands of the right person," Moedya lowered her head while watching the clear box containing Ranum's ring. "My mom wants you to accept and keep this ring, Arum. He said that it was already yours, though ...." Moedya paused her sentence. He looked back at Arumi. "Receive it, Arum," he thrust the small clear box he held onto Arumi.

"Thank you, Arum," Edgar said the same thing.

Doubtful, Arumi's hand looked a little shaky as she received the thing that Moedya thrust at her. However, in the end he grasped tightly the object with the roar of tears that re-wetted the cheek.

Puspa who just realized that something was happening inside the house, immediately approached Arumi and grabbed the body of his sister-in-law. "Arum, what's going on?" tanyanya. However, no one was willing to explain. Nor Keanu who had just stood up and listened.

"When can we meet again, Arum. You rarely even almost never go back to Indonesia. That's why, I don't want to waste this opportunity," said Moedya again. "I'm sorry, Ed. Sorry if this makes you feel uncomfortable. I hope that your journey back to France will be smooth" Moedya then looked up at Autumn standing up, then smiled. "You don't want to hug me before you part, Elle?"

Autumn smiled bitterly. The girl rushed down from the stairs where she was standing. He immediately approached Moeda, then hugged the man with a full hug.

I don't know what kind of feelings they felt at the time. However, Moedya seemed to love Autumn so much. In fact, they just met. "Please be good. I would love to see you in a wedding dress, but I can only send you a prayer. May this decision that you have taken be the path that will lead you to a real happiness. I hope Benjamin is the right man for you. I say this sincerely as a father. You're like my daughter, and I wish you all the best" Moedya ended her words with a warm kiss on Autumn's forehead.

"Thank you, Uncle," Autumn replied. The girl's tears fell as Moedya let go of her embrace.

Moedya then turned to Edgar. Confidently, he thrust out a hand and invited the gray-eyed man to shake hands. At first, Edgar seemed hesitant. However, a moment later he received a handshake from Moedya. After that, Moedya then turned around. He had greeted Keanu before stepping back towards the exit of the magnificent house with a nanar gaze fixed straight ahead.
