Autumn did not answer immediately. The girl was silent for a moment. It seemed that he was thinking about a reason that felt reasonable and acceptable to his father. A moment glanced at Arumi who was just smiling softly. His eyes beckoned for Autumn to answer Edgar's question immediately.
"My first impression was not so good to Mr. Royce, Father," Autumn brought up the reason despite a slightly hesitant tone of speech. "Oh well, I just kind of feel a little bit .. weird seeing it .. and ...." Autumn did not continue her words. Honestly, he doesn't usually lie to his parents.
"That's not a reason I can accept, Elle. You can't make your point of view that hasn't even been proven right for you to make excuses. I've known Mr. Royce for a long time, and you only met him yesterday" Edgar argued.
"I know that, Dad. But sometimes that first impression ...."
"First impressions don't always determine what is really. You have to learn to get to know someone better before you think about what that person is like. I know, sometimes another feeling arises, when we first see someone, but what you feel is not always true. Keep using your logic, Elle," Edgar began to give his advice.
"Your father is right, Elle. I don't think Mr. Royce is as bad as you think. He is a successful businessman. Is that so, honey?" Arumi glanced at the husband who was still glaring at Autumn.
"Yes, you're right. Benjamim Royce has several business fields, one of which is a five-star hotel under the name The Royal Royce. He's a real businessman. At a relatively young age, he has been able to achieve success that I think is very extraordinary," Edgar said again.
"Yes, and her lover is everywhere ...." Autumn fell silent not continuing her words. "Ah, forget it," he continued looking clumsy.
"What do you know about Mr Royce?" edgar's sight was suspicious, and instantly made Autumn look nervous. The girl couldn't possibly admit to her father that she had spent the night with him.
"none. I just read his profile on the internet. That'sthat's all. There it is listed if he has a relationship with many women. I think it's something that ... um ...." Autumn again felt confused by his words. The girl cursed herself in her heart. He should not have talked too much, especially the gaze of Edgar felt so intimidating. Highlight the eyes of the father impressed filled with suspicion that made Autumn feel bad.
Edgar looked at the girl. I don't know what the man was thinking about his eldest daughter. "Don't mix personal matters with work, Elle. You didn't go there to take care of his personal problems" Edgar said. "What Mr. Royce looks like, let that be his business. You just need to absorb the knowledge, how he can develop the business, the work system, and other things outside of personal affairs of course, because it's not your domain," again, Edgar gave his advice to Autumn.
"Dad was also a great businessman, why did I not learn directly from my father," Autumn still insisted.
"You already know how your father works. You feel for yourself all the rules I made for you and Darren. I do the same thing to all employees. Yeah, there must be a slight difference, because you and Darren aren't my employees. But not too far from that" replied Edgar.
"What do you have to learn from your father? Every day I give valuable lessons to you and Darren, in all areas, though not directly. However, it was all something that was interrelated. It's impossible if you haven't been able to absorb all that, Elle. Never mind. You'd better prepare your internship proposal soon, and send it to the personnel section tomorrow," Edgar said without further ado.
"Tomorrow?" Autumn again widened her beautiful eyes. "That means I have to draft a proposal today? God, I haven't even rested yet, Dad!" the girl's protest was loud. However, Edgar did not criticize him. The man just smiled calmly as he stood up. He then went to his work desk.
Autumn glanced at the mother who nodded slowly. Arumi doesn't want Autumn to continue debating her father, even though she knows that her eldest daughter is just like she was. There was no other choice, Autumn immediately moved from her seat. He then said goodbye out of there.
Autumn stepped swiftly towards her room. He closed the door of the room tightly and immediately grabbed the cellphone lying just above the bed. Autumn unlocks the screen and appears to be contacting someone. Not long after, the call was connected.
"Miss Hilaire?" a heavy voice sounded from the other end of the phone. "Is there anything important that you call me?" benjamin Royce's voice sounded sexy in Autumn's ears.
Autumn did not answer immediately. Just hearing Benjamin's voice, his body already felt trembling. The shadow of what he had done with the man on the sofa, came back and teased him. However, as powerful as Autumn dismissed everything. "I'd like to talk to you for a second, Mr. Royce."
"Oh, sure. Just tell me," Benjamin said, sounding so calm.
"Are you aware of my father's crazy plans?" ask Autumn. "Ah, yes you must know!" Autumn spoke with annoyance. Benjamin sounded softly.
"Then, what's your problem, miss?" ask the man.
"The problem is that I'm not interested in interning at your luxury hotel, Mr. Royce!" autumn. "Please, tell my father if you're not willing to accept me!" pinta Autumn with half pleading.
"I'm sorry Miss Hillaire. However, Mr. Hillaire and I have agreed on this. You're late," Benjamin said, still sounding so calm.
"Can't you rectify it?" Autumn is still hopeful.
"I never make up my mind" Benjamin replied seriously.
"Come on. Please!" pinta Autumn is half pushy.
"I'm sorry that this will definitely disappoint you" the man said again, making Autumn grunt in annoyance.
"You're such a bitch!" the girl was upset. He terminated the phone call without permission. Autumn even threw the phone on the bed. He was then pensive, before finally deciding to sit in front of the computer and start drafting an internship proposal that must be sent tomorrow. However, his concentration again collapsed, when he heard his phone ringing. Autumn immediately examined him while scrunched his forehead. A call came in from an unknown number.
