Autumn stared at the man who was not far from her. Gabriel stood next to the girl. "I've known for a long time that our boss had a special relationship with my apartment neighbor" whispered the blonde. But Autumn did not respond. He seemed a little disappointed by what he saw.
Sayup-sayup heard a low boisterous voice that made Benjamin force to release himself from Esmee's embrace. He turned to the source of the little commotion. Instantly his facial features changed completely, when he saw Autumn standing not far from him along with several other employees. Benjamin then turned his gaze to Gabriel. The head of marketing smiled politely. "Mr Royce," said the man warmly.
Benjamin looks a little clumsy. Sometimes he looked at Autumn who looked to turn her face away. Esmee continued to hold the gray-eyed man's arm. "It's crowded. What's the show?" benjamin asked as he let go of Esmee's hand and stepped before Gabriel.
"What a coincidence, Mr. Royce. I used to hold introductory events for new members on the team. We used to have a little party here in my apartment. I deliberately brought Miss Hilaire here so that she could be more familiar with her other colleagues, because she is a new member. We have to maintain cohesiveness both inside and outside the office. Don't you think, guys?" Gabriel looked at some of his team-mates. They nodded in agreement.
"Oh, that's very good. I just found out if you live here. I also feel very impressed that you have a unique ritual for welcoming new members. All right, have fun," Benjamin replied with a calm smile.
"Yes. I've been living here for a few years now" Gabriel said. "What if you join us?" hail that blond guy. "Inside there is no fancy menu, but I think this small party will be much more festive if it can be attended by a big boss of The Royal Royce. How about, Mr Royce?" Gabriel stared fixedly and slightly looked forward to Benjamin.
Benjamin did not answer immediately. He glanced at Autumn for a moment. The girl was not willing to return her gaze. Autumn preferred to set his sights on Esmee who was staring intently at him. The short-haired woman still remembered the last incident when she met Autumn at Benjamin's residence. Now, the woman knows who exactly the girl she met in the lover's room.
"If you don't mind, then I'll gladly join you" said the gray-eyed man calmly.
"Of course not. We would be very flattered if you joined" said Gabriel. He then unlocks the door of his apartment room and invites Benjamin to enter first. Then he invited all his team-mates to come in. While Esmee just stood in front of the door of her apartment with a pouting face. The blue-eyed woman was so upset. He could imagine what Benjamin would do inside, especially since Autumn was there.
Meanwhile inside Gabriel's apartment, the carefree atmosphere was so pronounced. Autumn, who has yet to get to know her teammates, is forced to stand up and tell her something about herself. It was as the opening of the welcoming party ritual commonly held by Gabriel.
"What am I supposed to tell you here?" Autumn looks misbehaved, especially because she knows that Benjamin keeps watching her closely. The eyes of the man looked completely different from usual.
Autumn paused for a moment and thought. A moment later the girl smiled. "alright. I used to leave the house without my father or mother's permission to meet with Maeva. We have been friends for a long time. Sometimes I go home more than ten in the evening, when the main door of the house is locked, and my brother Darren is a helper god. He always helped me get into my room in secret. That's all, I hope that none of you will know my father and complain to him about this" Autumn ended the story with a soft laugh.
"Is your father a fierce man, miss?" Benjamin asked his question, making Autumn even more misbehaved. His gaze now collided with Benjamin's gaze, which made him instantly goosebumps.
"My father was a good man and very responsible. He was an unyielding warrior and loved my mother so much. A character that I find very difficult to find in any man, I mean .. It is very difficult to find a man with a great sense of responsibility in him. Most of the men I met were losers who could only run away and hide behind a well-built body, "either consciously or not all of the words that came from Autumn's lips at the time. While his gaze still continued to clash with Benjamin's gaze.
"I hope I don't belong to one of those men, Miss Hillaire," Gabriel responded to Autumn's remarks.
"Of course not, Mr. Archambeau. I hope you're not like most men" Autumn replied, turning her gaze away from Benjamin's handsome face. He did not want to get back late and stuck in the feelings that had made him so stupid, so he could not use his common sense and logic.
"How deep can you judge a person's character, miss?" ask Benjamin again. He took advantage of the moment to continue to pry something about the brunette girl.
"I'm not a fortune teller, Mr. Royce. At first, I was just a girl who always sat back and had fun. But the longer I think. Life isn't just about having fun or how we go through the day with someone different" Autumn replies, looking back at Benjamin.
"You mean?" ask the gray-eyed man. Occasionally he moves his right leg which he places on the left thigh.
"I think about learning to do and live the day with the same things and people every day. I just want to prove how strong I am in dispelling boredom" Autumn explained again. He looked back at Benjamin.
The copper-haired brunette man did not immediately respond to Autumn's remarks. He could grasp the meaning of everything the sweet girl said. However, both Autumn and Benjamin seemed to forget that at that time they were not alone. What they did, had made the others look astonished. No exception Gabriel. The man wore a small smile as he watched Autumn's attitude before Benjamin who was their big boss.
