"Uncle Moe had a long conversation with Uncle Keanu and Ben, but why didn't you join? Dad just got off after Uncle Moe left" Autumn said as she tidied up her bed. Something he rarely even did in Paris.
Arumi, who was standing while watching her daughter, did not immediately reply. Should he say that Edgar was still often jealous of Moedya? It would just be the subject of his daughter's banter. Arumi is aware that they are not young people anymore who are often stirred by love problems, although he is sure that Autumn can understand it well.
"Uncle Moe looks very awkward. In fact, yesterday - yesterday before mom and dad came here, he seemed ordinary," said Autumn again. He's done with his job.
"Did Moedya come here often, Elle?" ask Arumi. His tone sounded a little hesitant when asking that.
"Yes. Uncle Moe often came and accompanied me to talk. There are many things we discussed. I think he might actually want to ask Mom, but he didn't dare to do it" Autumn said. The girl stood in front of the mirror, then noticed her own reflection. "What does it feel like to lose someone we love? Must've hurt. However, it was certainly much more painful to see him belong to someone else. I can't imagine that" Autumn seemed to be talking to her shadow.
Arumi gave a small smile as she strode quietly near her eldest daughter. He stood a little behind the girl. Arumi placed her chin on Autumn's shoulder which had almost the same posture as her. He looked in the mirror and looked at each other with the child. "This is why we must learn to let go of everything that is not destined for us. At first, it must have felt so heavy. However, God knows better what is best for us" Arumi gently stroked Autumn's two arms. While the gray-eyed girl was still fixated on looking at herself and her mother through the reflection of the mirror.
"Your father and I were lovers for almost two years. After my education in Paris was over, I returned to Indonesia and left everything in France. Unexpectedly, it turns out your father followed me to Indonesia. However, at that time I had first fallen in love with Moedya," Arumi smiled bitterly. "What does destiny mean to do such a game. Look now, I'm back with your father, Edgar Hillaire," Arumi bowed for a moment.
"Uncle Moe's a good man, but my father must have been much better. That's why I chose him. Aye, right?"
"Yes, you're right" said Arumi, peeping at her daughter's shoulder. "I'm glad to see Benjamin treating you so lovingly. His attitude reminds me of ...." Arumi did not continue his words. He went up near Autumn, then chose to sit at the end of the bed.
"To whom, Mom?" ask Autumn. The girl turned around and looked at the mother.
"Of course to your father. He's a very mature man, although he sometimes acts spoiled to me," Arumi laughed crisply. A moment later, he fell silent again. I don't know what he was thinking at the time, Autumn didn't even know. The more he looked at his mother, the more he felt clueless about the emotional changes the forty-eight-year-old woman showed.
A moment later, Arumi moved from her seat. "I'm going to the kitchen and help Aunt Puspa" he said. He leaves the room leaving Autumn alone. After tidying up her appearance, soon the girl decided to leave the room.
Jenna's gone to the store. While Darren went with Edgar and Keanu out of nowhere. Autumn then went into the kitchen. There, he saw Arumi and Puspa who were busy talking in Indonesian. Finally, the girl decided to go to the side porch. However, his steps came to a halt when he saw the new Moedya being welcomed in by Titin.
"Uncle Moe," said Autumn with a sweet smile.
"Hi, Elle," Moedya replied, "don't you go to the store?" tanyakanya.
"No. We will be back in France soon. So, I don't want to add to the good memories here," said Autumn with a soft laugh.
"Yes, it should be like that, but ...." Autumn played both of her beautiful eyeballs. "Do you want to meet Uncle Keanu?" tanyanya shifted the topic of conversation.
"Yes. I contacted him since then, but he didn't answer my call" explained Moedya.
"Uncle Keanu is away with Darren and also my father. I don't know where they're going. Why don't you just wait with me to talk?" Autumn moved next to her eyebrows.
"Not a bad idea. After all, I was relaxing," Moedya accepted the offer from Autumn. They both walked to the porch and sat there.
"So, when did you get back to France?" moedya asked to reopen her conversation with Autumn.
"Late this week. I've been leaving Paris too long. My father also still has a lot of work there," explained Autumn while hugging a sofa pillow.
"Yes, that's for sure," Moedya responded as the mangosteen softly. "So, Benjamin Royce is the man you've been talking to me about all this time?" moedya asked again, making Autumn blush while nodding slowly. "Looks like he's a good guy and he's well established. I read the book yesterday. He's among the top ten businessmen in France, alongside your father."
"I don't care about it" Autumn said lightly. "For me, Ben is a very good grown man" he said. Autumn then fell silent for a moment, before she resumed her words. "Ben and I are getting married. It would be nice if you could come to France. However, I could understand the situation, "Autumn took a slow breath, then accompanied by a short complaint.
"What do you understand, Elle?" moedya.
Autumn turned her head and looked at the middle-aged man next to her. The girl smiled wryly. "Come, Uncle. I see you and my father as two magnetic fields opposite each other. You're a very nice man, and so is my father. He's the greatest. But it is ...." Autumn did not continue her words.
"You won't understand it in detail, Elle. There is a very long story between ... between ...." Moedya.
"Why you and my mom?" continued Autumn made Moedya gasp for a moment. "I already know who the woman you talked about the other day" Autumn said.
"What did your mother tell you?" moedya asked doubtfully. "Did he say how cowardly a Moedya used to be?" the man said again as if he regretted and judged himself. A complaint slowly slid in just like that. "I was really feeling stupid and chaotic back then, by letting your mother go and be asleep from me for good," Moedya scooped up the roughness of her face.
"I don't know in detail what your relationship with my mother was like. However, I like you, Uncle. You're like a father to me. It would have been a lot of fun, if you could have seen him chatting in casual chats with my father. Just like you often do with Uncle Keanu," Autumn said slowly.
"Is your father willing to do it too?" ask Moedya.
