Not Him

Sometimes there are certain things that would be much better if we didn't know them at all. The dark past is better kept and not revealed anymore.

Hyunjin exhaled slowly, whether this had been how many times in the past few minutes. His gaze was fixed on the window, watching the slow-flowing rainwater on the glass surface. The girl sat by her bed, clutching her knees, holding back the cold that was being spread by the heavy rain outside. There was nothing he could do, it made him feel bored. If this is the case, Hyunjin will definitely think again about the problems that are plaguing her, making her fall back.

Before, I had no idea how many tears she had shed to cry for the man, leaving him stuck in a cycle of regret that kept ensnaring him. But now even crying he was not able to, too many tears were wasted on it. The fact remains true, all that will not change the fact that he can not return to Kyuhyun―gain the love of the man. He didn't want to part with Kyuhyun, but he decided that. Hyunjin felt that he was the most stupid person who ever lived in this world. He is constantly in a difficult position, it feels like he can no longer distinguish between right and wrong. Everything looks faint, not clear anymore.

Kriet..

Hearing the sound of the door opening, Hyunjin immediately turned to the origin of the voice.

“You want to come with me to visit Appa?”

The girl thought for a moment to decide. Shortly after, he nodded his head.

“I wait. Don't be long!” Siwon smiled, then disappeared behind the door.

Once again Hyunjin stared at the window. The rain has not subsided, it looks even more intense. When will this bright and cloudy day pass?

“How about this one, miss? I think this is very suitable for you.” the woman thrust a white wedding dress with the end of her dress dangling to the floor on the girl in front of her. The girl narrowed her eyes, scrutinizing the beautiful-looking dress closely.

“Let me try first.” she took over the dress from the woman's hand, then walked towards the dressing room.

Shortly after, the girl came out, this time changing into a dress earlier. “This is good.” the comment is short, while rotating the body in front of a large mirror. But a moment later he stared uncertainly, “But it still seems less suitable for me. I want to see another one again.” he said while looking at the woman who is a boutique employee where she is fitting a wedding dress at this time.

The man sitting in the corner of the room snorted in annoyance. He slammed the old magazine, which had been turned around meaninglessly, and then walked closer to the girl.

“Jung Yeoram! What the hell do you want? Can't you decide on one dress and then we'll get out of here? I'm tired of seeing you go back and forth in the dressing room and keep asking for another dress. What of the many you've tried, none of which fit? What is it for picky? The important thing is the wedding dress and fit on the body, right?” the man exploded, his patience had been waiting for hours to accompany the girl. Is it hard to find a dress?

“Whoa! It's as if you're talking. Look, yes, this is for my wedding. Once in a lifetime. How can you think like that? You think it's as easy as buying underwear, eh?” the girl glared wide, very unaccepting with the opinion of the gentleman. “After all I did not ask you to accompany me.” Yeoram sneers.

Who told him to come along? I'm even happy that he's not here and keeps ruining my happy moments. Yeoram grumbled in her heart.

The man, Cho Jino, gnashing his jaw withholding emotions, “If it wasn't for Kyuhyun hyung asking, I wouldn't want to accompany you either.”

“Oh. Geez! Why did Oppa tell you to? I'd rather go alone than with you. You're a bitch, unlike Kyuhyun oppa.”

Again Jino's heart was hot. Can't the girl see the good side in her once? Kyuhyun oppa, Kyuhyun oppa. It was always that name that he kept. Jino sighed heavily, trying to maintain her patience for the sake of facing this girl, “I choose one dress, take it or I leave you here.”

“What? Just plain as it were. Yep! Cho Jino!” Yeoram yelled at the man, but Jino already looked busy picking up the wedding dress on the other end.

You shitty guy!

“How?”

“Hei!”

“Cho Jino, why silence?”

“Ah, yes. What?” Jino gasped in shock, quickly waking up from her daydream. Yeoram snorted to see it. The man was just silent when asked, instead seeing it like an alien who had just descended to earth.

“What do you think?”

“Cantics.”

“Really? I know I'm pretty.” Yeoram nodded, then smiled proudly. It was rare for such a chatty man to praise her like this.

“Not you, but the dress.”

Stupid jino. Can't you just see me as a woman once should? I know she must be amazed to see me wearing this dress.

Yeoram did not need a thousand words of praise from the man―ia knew, it was a very impossible thing to happen. But the girl was already satisfied with Jino's choice of wedding dress. It looks elegant and luxurious, so depicting her.

“Your choice is good too.” Yeoram told Jino, as if replacing the sentence “Thank you” which might be a bit impossible said from her lips for the man.

“I'll take this one.”

“Appa is fine, right here?” hyunjin asked his father that afternoon, when he and Siwon came to see him at the detention house.

The father nodded with a smile, imposing a fine look in front of his children. Although they actually know, the father is bearing the heavy burden of this case. Choi Minhwa's good name is defiled, her position in the office is threatened if good fortune does not support her to prove her innocence.

Siwon looked at his father full of regrets. So far he has always succeeded in his work, it is sad if this time he failed in defending his own father. He was not incapable and incompetent in doing this work, but the confession of a witness was strong enough to ensnare his father. Siwon could only try as he could.

Siwon's phone rang, he asked for a moment to pick it up. For no more than a minute, the conversation on the phone was over. “I have a sudden affair, have to go now.” Siwon stared unkindly at his father.

“We go now?” Siwon asked his sister for her consent. Hyunjin shook her head, she still wanted to be with her father for longer.

“You go, oppa. I'm going home by taxi,” he said.

Siwon nodded in understanding. He nodded and immediately left. There is something to be taken care of, and this concerns the development of the legal issues that are being dealt with.

“How is your mother, son?” hyunjin's father asked suddenly, after Siwon left among them. The girl was quite stunned by the question, not knowing what to answer. Hyunjin shook his head weakly―it doesn't take long sentences for his father to know what his daughter meant.

“Eomma is still recovering. The condition is getting worse.” Hyunjin knew this would add to his father's mind, but he had no right to hide it at all. His father needs to know his mother's situation.

“Im sorry appa. Because it makes you suffer with all this.”

Hyunjin shook her head again, but this time for another gesture. As if saying, ‘ini is not Appa's fault. Don't keep blaming yourself.’

“Can I ask you something, Appa?” hyunjin exclaimed with doubt. He wasn't sure if this question was worth asking the man or not. But he must know the truth. He would go crazy thinking about this alone.

“About what?”

Hyunjin did not answer. He was silent, still hesitant. Not knowing where to start, he himself was confused how to convey it. “Only a small thing, not at all important.” Said later.

“Whatever it is, just ask. Will Appa answer if it can.” Choi Minhwa smiled sincerely, as if she could guess the hesitation that was taking over Hyunjin.

The girl looked at her father―still hesitant. But his curiosity was much greater, he was eager to find out. “What is Appa's relationship with Mr Cho Taewoo?”

As if there was an electric current stinging him, the man froze after hearing Hyunjin's question. Why did his daughter ask that? It reminds him of the past. He did not want to open the old wounds again.

“Is this important to you?” Choi Minhwa stared fixedly at Hyunjin, trying to guess how much curiosity the girl was. From his eyes he knew, Hyunjin wanted an answer from him― wanted it so much.

“Appa no need to answer if indeed―”

“Is this related to Cho Kyuhyun?” cut the man off quickly. Hyunjin. Indeed, that was the only reason he asked. That's what he's been thinking about lately. One of the reasons for him to forget Kyuhyun is because of his father, because the relationship between the two men his father and Kyuhyun― father does not seem to be going well. But even to this day, he still did not know what was going on between them. What kind of relationship causes the two people to be hostile. He never knew that.

“There's something that's happened between us. It's been going on for a long time.”

“I won't ask again. Appa doesn't need to answer.” Hyunjin halfheartedly. He was forced to abandon his intentions, he would not force if his father objected.

The girl continued, “After all I and Kyuhyun are not together, know it is no use anymore.” Hyunjin forced a laugh. He wanted to calm his father down, but it made Choi Minhwa feel even more guilty.

“Sometimes there are certain things that would be much better if we didn't know it at all. Dark past better saved and not revealed again.”

Hyunjin digested her father's sentence just now. Yeah, that guy's right. Why reopen old sheets that have been closed, if it can not change the situation? Free, it's pointless. In fact, it will make the wound that is still scarred even more painful.
