“how is this oppa? I'm so scared.” Hyunjin continues to fidget waiting for news from the police who she says have managed to track down the whereabouts of the car carrying Kyuhyun. Donghae sat next to her, trying to keep the girl calm. On the one hand he felt very stupid because he could not escape from the girl, but on the other hand he could not let Hyunjin face this alone.
“quiet me, I'm sure the police will find Kyuhyun.”
“sorry, are you Miss Choi Hyunjin?” a man was standing right in front of him. The girl looked up, then nodded her head, “tak.”
“mari come with me.” the man in the police uniform walks towards a room. Hyunjin and Donghae immediately stood up and followed him.
“are you the one who reported the abduction of Cho Kyuhyun?” the policeman asked, as they were sitting in the chair.
“True. How then? any word on the case? We've been waiting here for hours.” asked Hyunjin impatiently, hoping they've found where Kyuhyun is.
The policeman sighed softly, “Nona, you should just go home. This case will not continue.”
“Mwo? Why?” Hyunjin was shocked, not believing what the police said.
“the young man was not kidnapped, you can be prosecuted for misinterpretation.”
“how can? I myself saw Kyuhyun being forcibly taken by them, even to the point of being beaten. Is that not a kidnapping?” hyunjin exclaimed in emotion, but Donghae immediately grabbed the girl's hand to calm her down.
“you can't report this as a kidnapping. He was brought home to his own parents' house.”
“apa? his own parents?” Hyunjin screeched in disbelief. “how could her parents treat her like that? you must be wrong.”
“please both of you leave this place. Your business is done.” The policeman pointed towards the exit of the room with his hand.
“you can't ignore this case!” Hyunjin stood up, staring intently at the policeman.
“sorry, please go.” the policeman got up from his seat, then came out leaving the room. Hyunjin was about to chase after her, but Donghae swiftly restrained the girl.
“Oppa.. how about Kyuhyun?” Hyunjin started crying, she was really worried about Kyuhyun's state.
Donghae patted his back, whispering to the girl, “all will be fine. Now let's go home.”
Hyunjin nodded, she had no choice but to return home, as both her parents must have gone home. He could get into trouble if caught running away. But that's not the case, he doesn't care anymore if he gets punished or what, he still can't calm down thinking about Kyuhyun. Hyunjin was afraid that Kyuhyun would be hurt again. Why was Kyuhyun's father so hearty to let his son be hurt?
___
“oppa, get here only.” Hyunjin said as Donghae's car began to approach his home complex.
Donghae stopped then turned to look at the girl, “still a few hundred meters away. Do you want to stay down here?”
Hyunjin nodded confidently, “I don't want my parents to see me coming home with you. You'll get in trouble later. Let the consequences be my own responsibility.”
“don't, what if there's nothing? the road is very quiet.” Donghae pulled Hyunjin's hand ready to open the car door. Slowly Hyunjin let go of Donghae's hand, the girl smiled reassuringly, “I'm fine. I used to go home alone at night, that way.”
“but still, you are yeoja, Hyunjin-ah.”
“already yes, I go.” Hyunjin immediately got out of the car, he did not want to trouble Donghae again this time. It's enough he hurt that name first. Hyunjin did not even believe Donghae would come when he called, she thought the name was no longer willing to connect with him, considering Donghae often avoids him. Although he did not deny, he also often avoided Donghae after the incident.
Donghae was just resigned, Hyunjin had already come out and waved her hand. But Donghae didn't leave right away, he still saw the girl from the windshield of his car. Suddenly seething with worry in his mind, Donghae did not calm down to let Hyunjin walk alone nights like this. Finally he got out of the car, following Hyunjin silently behind him.
Donghae stops near the fence of Hyunjin's house when the girl has entered her house. He peeked a little from the gap of the fence, “hopefully you can get through this, Hyunjin-ah.”
___
Hyunjin went inside her house, locked the door and walked to her room. He was grateful that his father was not waiting for him to come home. At least he could wait until tomorrow to be scolded, he was already too tired for today.
“where have you been?”
Hyunjin flinched, she turned around and found her father's silhouette behind the darkness of the room. “a.appa.”
As the pace drew closer, Hyunjin felt her heart being completely pumped to beat faster than usual. It turned out that his father was waiting for him, the man did not even sleep until this late, sitting waiting in the dark.
“answer question appa!”
“aku.. from the police station.” Hyunjin lowered her head, better to stare at the floor than to look into her father's eyes glittering furiously.
“Police office? What the hell are you doing? You're making trouble?”
Hyunjin shook her head, still keeping her head down, “Kyuhyun kidnapped.”
“mwo? Then how?”
Hyunjin looked up, his father seemed to be worried about hearing this as well. “he said this was not a case of kidnapping, because Kyuhyun was brought to his home. But tomorrow I will try to come again. That cop can't be as careful.”
“no, you can't go anywhere tomorrow. Did you forget that you were in the law?”
“but I have to do this, appa.”
“have already told you not to have any more contact with him, right? Why can't you just obey this time?”
“tapi-“
“no buts, now go into your room and sleep. From tomorrow you won't leave it alone. Am I trying to be a dissident child now?”
“not like that, I really should see Kyuhyun.” Hyunjin said it, even though she knew arguing with her father was meaningless.
“don't say much! Now go to your room!”
Hyunjin was silent, she could not argue anymore. Soon he walked into his room.
Hyunjin dropped herself on the bed as soon as she reached her room, and immediately buried her face in the pillow, she cried as she pleased.
Choi Minhwa stands at the door of her daughter's closed room. From there he could hear the sound of Hyunjin sobbing. He also actually did not have the heart of Hyunjin, but the girl was too stubborn. “forgive appa nak.”
Hyunjin's phone rang, she saw who the caller was, it turned out Donghae. Hyunjin grabs the phone and searches it. The girl then deactivated her phone. He couldn't and didn't want to talk to anyone this time. She knew Donghae must be worried about her situation, but she really wanted to cry alone.
“Kyuhyun.”.
