***If you were given a choice, which one would you choose?
Keeping the person you love by your side, or letting go if it makes you happier?***
___
Hyunjin looked doubtfully at the high gate in front of her, her heart still hesitating to go any further. He wanted to go in there, but there was still a feeling of fear that was reaching him. The girl almost gave up and turned away, but the other side of her forced her to stay. Many things he had done to get in front of the mansion, he even lied to his father by saying he wanted to go to the bookstore, though he was actually in front of the Cho family's current residence. Hyunjin painstakingly forced the police who handled her report yesterday to give Kyuhyun's address to her, and finally succeeded. He has come so far, it feels like what he does will be in vain if he gives up only until here.
Still feeling doubtful, Hyunjin pressed the bell at the gate. Someone's voice from the income asked him, “Who?”
Hyunjin was silent, still hesitating to answer.
The person across muttered softly, “Hyunjin-sshi?”
After a few minutes, the gate opened and revealed the figure of a man that Hyunjin had known lately. He smiled kindly at the girl, “how did you get here?”
Hyunjin scratched his nape in doubt, how could he possibly say he came here to make sure that Kyuhyun wasn't actually kidnapped? Now he knows―and already sure―here really Kyuhyun residence. So what should he be afraid of? Shouldn't Kyuhyun be safe here?
“aku just happened to pass by, and―“
“certainly you want to meet Kyuhyun hyung ‘kan?” Jino narrowed her eyes, trying to guess. Hyunjin just nodded her head, that was the purpose of coming here.
“is he okay? she's healthy ‘kan?” hyunjin asked repeatedly, looking at how worried she was about Kyuhyun.
Jino didn't answer right away, I don't know what to say. Kyuhyun is fine physically, but not mentally. It had been a whole day since waking up from his stupor, Kyuhyun kept shouting and throwing things. He forced want to get out of “prison” at the house.
“enter, she's inside the house.” Jino opened the gate wider, and invited Hyunjin to enter.
Hyunjin was a little stunned as she entered the mansion, looking at the furniture and its extremely glamorous architecture. He never thought, the Kyuhyun family is so rich, remembering the life of Kyuhyun― whom he knew― all along is very simple. He even had to work part-time to pay for his own studies. Secretly he feels proud, his lover is not a person who relies on the wealth of his family.
“you just wait a minute, I'll call him.” Jino gestured for Hyunjin to sit on the sofa. He then goes upstairs, to tell Kyuhyun that Hyunjin is in the house, looking for him.
Jino was just about to open the door handle, when suddenly one of the two people standing guard in front of the room prevented her hand. “you can't enter.”
“I want to talk to hyung, can you guys step aside?” Jino said ketus, but the two men still kept him from entering. They were bodyguards assigned to keep Kyuhyun from escaping, of course on the orders of Mr. Cho―ayah Kyuhyun.
“sorry young master, we only carry out the duties of Mr. Cho.”
“aish. alright.” Jino gave up, she couldn't do anything. He knew his father's will was very difficult to be about. Now all Jino had in mind was to find an excuse to tell Hyunjin that Kyuhyun could not be met, of course he could not tell the truth.
___
“again I'm sorry, I forgot he was gone. But later I will definitely tell him if you come here.” Jino bowed for the umpteenth time to Hyunjin, feeling bad for not being able to bring them together.
Hyunjin felt more bad, Jino's apology he felt too excessive, considering it was not his fault. “uh, it's okay. Knowing she was doing well was enough for me.”
“Hyunjin-sshi.” call Jino slowly, sounding hesitant.
“Ye?” the girl replied, still feeling sad if only Jino would say her apology again. Looks like he has to take note of how many times Jino said the word “maaf” to him today.
“hyung never told you anything?”
“eh, about what?”
Jino shook her head quickly, “ah, no. Forget it.”
“all right, then I'm leaving. Greetings to him if he's back.”
“nde, I will definitely convey.”
“thank you Jino-sshi.” Hyunjin smiled, then turned her body and walked away. He immediately stopped a taxi that happened to pass by.
Jino smiled wryly, “seems like she does not know anything.”
___
Without saying much, one of them immediately took out the key from inside his pocket, then opened the door. Jino immediately entered, carrying a tray filled with dinner for Kyuhyun.
When Jino came in, it was so dark in the room. He immediately looked for a light switch to give light. And when the lights came on, he was so surprised to find the inside was so chaotic. The items scattered out of place, it seemed as if Kyuhyun had been on a rampage all day. The food that was given before had ended up horribly on the floor, without eating a single bit. Jino hurriedly placed the tray she carried onto the table. He immediately approached Kyuhyun who was sitting with a blank look in the corner of the room.
Jino looked at her half-brother. Kyuhyun's hands were bleeding, and the large glass in the room was already smashed to pieces. Jino didn't have to think again to guess where the wound on Kyuhyun's hand came from.
Jino sat next to Kyuhyun, leaning against the same wall. “hyung, don't you want to eat first? haven't you eaten anything since yesterday? What if you starve to death? Hyunjin will definitely scold me.” Jino chuckled, still trying to joke around to make the atmosphere melt, even though she knew this was not the right time to throw jokes.
“I know the outrageous abonyms of locking you up like this, but he definitely has the best plan for you.”
“Hyung, you're home, don't you miss the atmosphere of this house? Hasn't you been gone long enough?”Jino continued to talk, but Kyuhyun just kept silent, staring blankly at her.
“tadi Hyunjin came here.” Jino was silent for a while, waiting for Kyuhyun to react to what he had just said. And sure enough, Kyuhyun immediately turned his face towards Jino.
“He's looking for you. I didn't say you were in brackets. I said you were gone, and he understood, then went home.”
“for what? then how does he know this home address?”
Jino smiled, finally Kyuhyun would also respond to his words, since earlier he was like talking to a stone. “I don't know. Oh yeah, he said he was glad to know you were okay. Well, even though I'm sorry I lied to her. I think he's very worried about you. Am I wrong not to tell you the truth?”
Kyuhyun shook his head, “no, it's better he doesn't know.”
___
Hyunjin got off the taxi, and was a little surprised to see someone's car parked in the yard. With a small run, the girl hurriedly entered the house. Inside, he saw Minho who was sitting daydreaming next to the window.
“Minho-ya, oppa go home?” asked on the name, Minho only responded with a small nod, his face looks lethargic. Hyunjin smiled widely, then ran again into another room.
The girl's steps stopped when faced with the person she was looking for. He immediately ran, hugging the person. “bogoshippo Siwon oppa.”
“ya! Choi Hyunjin, don't be such a child.”
Hyunjin immediately let go of her embrace after being yelled at like that. “what wind is there until you get home? uh, where are you going with that bag?”
The guy glanced at the big bag he had in his hand, “ini oemma-shirts, he's in the hospital now.”
“MWO? How can?” Hyunjin was strangled, shocked by this sudden thing. Though just this afternoon he said to go to the bookstore― who actually went to Kyuhyun's house. Is it because he lied, so his mother fell ill? The girl could not imagine it.
“you've eaten? You better eat first, then take us to the hospital. Oppa and Minho will go there first.”
Hyunjin nodded in understanding.
“Minho-yeah, kajja!” call Siwon to Minho. Minho got up from his seat, then followed his older brother from behind.
Hyunjin went straight into her room as soon as her brother and sister were gone. He lay in his bed, again daydreaming. The girl's mind started to fidget, thinking of her mother. His older brother, Choi Siwon, works as a lawyer in Daegu, and he rarely goes home, usually only on year-end holidays. What pain does eomma have until oppa returns to Seoul? Is that serious? The girl muttered in her heart.
The phone in her bag rang, the girl immediately took it out. “yobosseo, what's up Jiyoo-ya?”
“You all right? where are you now?”
“i'm at home. Why?” Hyunjin asked confusedly, was this friend wrongly eating medicine to worry about it like that? unaccustomed.
“Hyunjin-ah, I heard your father was arrested. You have to be strong yes, I don't know what's going on, but I'm sure ahjussi is a good man, he can't be―”
“Mwo? In custody? You mean.”
“k―you don't know?”
Hyunjin immediately turned off her phone connection with Jiyoo. The girl rushed out of the room.
