Love of the Monster

Love of the Monster
The Souls (2)

Every time I see a couple holding hands, or just plainly sitting together I look away. It's not that I hate seeing lovers. But because it keeps me of a question nobody can answer.. "Where's mine?"

Angry honking sounds can be heard from several other cars that are forced to stop to avoid consecutive traffic accidents.

"Torak!" Raphael rebuked angrily at him.

The sight before their eyes was spinning very dangerously which made their vision blur for a while.

"Call me right!" snapping Torak in a dominant tone of voice.

After hearing the powerful voice of their Alpha, Raphael and Calleb could not help but bow their heads in obedience.

The dominant tone of voice of an Alpha cannot be considered light, especially of a Donovan Torak.

Those of low status would not be able to survive. The effect of not obeying the dominant tone of an Alpha is like physical torment to them.

"Yes, Alpha.." They both said almost simultaneously.

Torak then leaned on the back of his chair and allowed Raphael to take control of the steering wheel again. Torak's eyes were still as dark black as the overcast night sky.

The path Torak chose was a long straight path, so along the way Raphael can be a little relieved because Torak will not be able to take the steering wheel again like before.

"Supreme Alpha Torak. We have another meeting with Alpha Romulus in twenty minutes and this route.." Calleb tries to remind Torak in a slightly vibrating tone. "…this route is the reverse route."

However, Torak did not heed the sound as he stared intently at the road that lay on the side of the car window.

Raphael understood very well that no one could speak if the monster within Torak was taking control.

The monsters inside them were the most vicious, brutal and dangerous part, therefore they needed to control them all the time.

The only time they let the monsters inside them come to the surface is when they have to protect or in a fierce fight.

"What am I supposed to do?" Calleb asked silently to Raphael. Since the Alpha refuses to answer, asking the Beta is the next option.

Once again, Raphael looked at Torak through the central rearview mirror. His stiff and uncaring face showed a warning that said; he would pay no heed to anything at this moment.

In the end Raphael shook his head and said in a normal voice, so Torak could hear him. "Cancel." He waited for a moment to see that Torak gave an indication that said otherwise.

However, when he remained unconcerned about this, Raphael let out a sigh and gave Calleb a signal to cancel the meeting.

The noisy man then pulled out the phone from his pants pocket and pressed down on a row of numbers, in the third ring someone raised his call and Calleb spoke in a language and a professional attitude that did not match his personality at all.

After hanging up the phone, Calleb steals a glance at Torak through the rearview mirror and lands his gaze on Raphael. "So?"

Raphael only returned the gaze for a moment before he refocused his gaze onto the streets.

The atmosphere in the car feels more stifling with the appearance of monsters in Torak. Calleb had never seen Torak run amok before, but from the stories he heard about it, it was enough for him to make all the feathers on his body bristled.

The long road took them out of town to another nearby small town. They were on a narrow path when Calleb couldn't help but lock his mouth longer.

"Supreme Alpha Torak," Calleb turned his head and called out to Torak timidly while scratching his nose. "Where are we going…?"

He waited for Torak's reply with hope, but when there was no reply from Torak, Calleb sighed and turned his body back and looked into the almost deserted and dark streets.

It was raining a lot out there as they entered the more crowded streets.

"Supreme Alpha, can you tell us what your goal is? At least I can prepare myself if we have to fight.." Calleb muttered as he propped his chin up on his hand, his eyes stared one by one at the shops they passed by that were still open even at midnight.

From the side, Raphael glared at him, the last thing he wanted was to provoke Torak. Only God knows what Torak will do if he really gets out of control.

They thought Torak would not answer the whimper of Calleb's question, but what was surprising was Torak, with a slightly melted cold expression, said;

"To meet my soul mate."
