Love of the Monster

Love of the Monster
Welcome Home (2)

Raine continued to stare towards the frenetic city out there which was slowly becoming more deserted as they took the long road towards the pine forest.

The deeper they entered the forest, the fewer cars passed through them until they finally got off the main road and now the surrounding area is completely surrounded by pine trees.

Raine doesn't know how Torak and the people in this group know which direction to go, but Raine assumes they're used to being in this area, so from tiu Raine continue to enjoy the scenery out there.

It did not take long before finally the row after row of pine trees ended and at the end of the road was a village.

Raine stared out the window as they passed through the streets filled with people walking on the shoulder of the road.

They drove past several pastry shops, coffee shops, schools and bookstores as well as houses. All this is so beautiful.

The lights from each side of the road begin to turn on as the sun begins to leave the horizon.

"This is Raven's village." Torak informs Raine of this when they stop to let a woman cross the street. "And they're all werewolves." Torak said carefully, looking deeply into Raine's eyes to see how he reacted to the information.

Raine's eyes widened, fear began to spread and made himself have to grip the jacket he was wearing tighter.

Damnit damnit!

Torak cursed himself when he saw how panicked Raine was when he heard that. Torak thinks it's a good idea to let Raine know about his surroundings early because he's going to stay there.

"No, no.." Torak took off his seatbelt and held Raine's face with both hands.

When Torak realizes how small Raine's face is, he can break his face if Torak is not heart-hearted. "They won't hurt you, they'll protect you."

Raine did not look into Torak's eyes, he lowered his head with tears welling up in his eyes.

"Please don't cry.." Torak begged, his voice was very soft. No one would believe that this kind of intonation came from a Donovan Torak.

[Someone tried to kill me.]

"No, my love." Torak pulled Raine into his arms, clutching his face into his chest.

After a while, Raine pulled himself up slowly. Raine doesn't know why but he wants to be close to Torak and this strange feeling still leaves a big question in his head.

Why did he behave like that when he was with Torak?

"I'll take care of you, I promise." Torak promised really.

After the promise, Torak drives the car back and says nothing more, his left hand gripping Raine's hand very tightly while at the same time, he drives the car, towards their destination.

Nothing happened for the rest of the journey, while Raine, subconsciously, focused himself on his hand that was being held by Torak.

Raine trusts this man when he says he's gonna take care of Raine. Torak has proven it, but imagining himself living surrounded by supernatural creatures brings him back to his senses.

However, when he thought about this again, even if he lived with normal humans, they were not very good to him either, so why would Raine be disturbed if he lived here? Maybe these Lycans aren't so bad…

With those thoughts in her head, the tension within Raine slightly receded, she raised her head with renewed hope and then she looked at the mansion in front of her.

Raine was startled and he could not take his eyes off the beautiful building.

Compared to her seedy orphanage, this mansion was the most beautiful and incredible place to live, Raine had never seen a place like this before.

Torak runs his car to the garage in the basement and says, "Welcome home."

Raine smiled at Torak, he was very enthusiastic and happy to know that he had a place that could be called 'home' now.
