Love of the Monster
His silence (2)

They hurt you then they act like you hurt them and because no one lists so she gives up.

She just sits there in silence.

"I think Raine needs to change clothes before he gets the flu." Raphael pointed at Raine's wet clothes and pants.

Torak stared intently at Raphael who continuously wanted to send Raine away from him, but for this one thing, he agreed. "Yes, you need to change clothes." He grumbled.

Reluctantly, Torak releases Raine's body, which has shivered from cold and fear, and quickly hides behind Anne's body.

Raine does not leave immediately to change clothes, but instead, he looks at Anne, asking her for permission. Only after Anne nodded in agreement did Raine step away.

Torak doesn't like this at all.

Why did Raine have to ask permission before he left?

"Raine, I thought, you forgot something." Raphael lifted up the white plastic bag containing the medicines he had bought earlier.

Raine stopped and looked at Raphael, but made no movement to approach the man. Maybe he was still afraid that Torak changed his mind and caught him again.

Occasionally, Raine would also glance towards Calleb. This gesture further strengthens Calleb's guess, which states that Raine can see it in this form.

Torak snatched the plastic bag from Raphael's hand and stepped towards Raine.

Raine becomes tense as if considering escaping, but Torak quickly takes his hand and hands over the plastic bag containing the medicine. "Replace your clothes, we'll be gone soon" he said.

Torak could see the confusion and fear within Raine's eyes as he grasped the plastic bag in his hand and immediately left, severing the touch between them.

Torak took a deep breath to calm down the monster inside him who was eager to chase after Raine and be with him.

[Follow him.] Torak said through a mind link to Calleb who was busy chasing his own tail.

The gray wolf stood on its four legs and began to walk casually towards the direction where Raine had gone.

Inside the office, Anne leaves Torak and Raphael with an old woman with round glasses sitting sweetly on her nose, saying that she will check on Raine.

The old woman looked frowned because her night sleep had been disturbed.

However, neither Torak nor Raphael paid any attention to this detail. They need to solve this problem as soon as possible.

It's been very polite for them to want to deal with all the adoption documents and follow the rules that apply rather than taking Raine without permission.

"Mr Donovan, you still have to attend counseling sessions." Mrs. Lang held a document containing Rained's personal data when explaining his adoption procedures.

"Yes have to get back to Red River city this morning as well and I'll take Raine with me, the next procedure will be handled by my confidants." Torak gave his final decision while taking the documents from his hands. Lang impatiently.

He sat down on the sofa and let Raphael who overcame the old lady who was upset before them.

While Raphael and Ms. Lang is discussing the adoption process, Torak is flipping through documents about Raine.

"He's been in a mental hospital for three years?" Torak questioned this question while holding the report in his hand.

"Yes, Raine just got kicked out of there a year ago." Mrs. Lang says. He pushed his glasses on as he continued. "Raine hasn't spoken since he's been here."

"What happened to her?" Raphael asked.

"Based on the reports I received, at the age of eight, Raine lost her parents, after which there was a family very close to her family who adopted her, but the family found something wrong with Raine and put him in a mental institution."

"For what reason?" Raphael asked again, although for some reason, he knew what the answer was.

Mrs. Lang shrugged his shoulders. "They keep saying that Raine keeps saying things that don't make any sense at all."

"As it is?"

"Raine kept saying something about the monstrous creatures around him and there was one of them who wanted to kill him."

Raphael glanced at Torak who had tightened his grip on the document in his hand, his jaw tightly shut when he heard that there was a supernatural being hunting Raine and the foolish man just placed it in the mental hospital.

"The family that adopted Raine didn't want to bring Raine back with them, so the rules put Raine in this orphanage." Mrs. Lang sighed. "May I know why you're so eager to adopt her?"

Raphael will answer, but Torak will say first. "I owe his father quite a debt of gratitude, so I intend to pay this."

Looks like Ms. Lang only asked the question out of curiosity, not because he really cared to ask more details.

It just seems that he feels relieved because there is someone who wants to take Raine.

Honestly, Ms. Lang was a little scared by Raine's behavior. That girl looks terrible sometimes…

Torak doesn't like to see antipathy in your eyes. Lang whom he showed when they talked about his soul mate.

Subconsciously, Torak let out a growl that shocked the old woman.

Raphael cleared his throat to melt the awkward atmosphere as Anne walked into the room.

"Where's Raine?" Torak stood up, alert when he found Anne coming alone.
