Arthur's Challenge
A woman standing in the middle of the room and directly highlighted by the sunlight from a glass dome that became the sky - the sky of the room, Jessica Arielle was seen standing and bowing her gaze before Arthur Gates, who was looking at her, Andrews Gates, William Gates, Phillips Gates, Marrie Gates, two Andrews wives and one Phillips wife. Behind Jessica was seen Jester staring at Jessica's back while sitting on Naomi who was looking slightly back at Jessica's back.
A pair of eyes with a sharp and hateful gaze did not stop staring at Jessica Arielle's figure. He is Arthur who looks full of anger towards Jessica, while Jessica herself seems to have no expression at all as if an empty container without emotion. On the other hand Andrews who looked panicked could only lower her gaze as if she knew where the trial was going today, but among all Marrie was the most surprised to see his high school friend was presented in the middle of this creepy family.
"Jessica.." muttered Marrie in disbelief at what she saw this morning
"Who is he?" jester asked whispering to Naomi, Jester looked puzzled by the presence of someone she did not know.
"His mother... Sarah.." Naomi answered and hid her face in the field of Jester.
"Jessica Arielle built the Arielle Corp company and became a fierce competitor of one of my company branches, able to defeat it with her own abilities, I was betrayed by my own son" Arthur said sadly, all fell silent again and no one was able to say and defend him.
Arthur's statement made all those present in the room begin to guess - hell about the purpose of this meeting was held, he said, although it is still a question for Jester and Naomi who can not understand what the relationship between the existence of Jessica Arielle with their marriage plans. Not to mention Marrie's surprise about the presence of his high school friend who turned out to be related to the Gates family business, a reality that is still difficult to accept.
"Is there anything you want to say?" arthur asked in a pressing voice
"Nothing" Jessica replied briefly and firmly
"Your courage has increased since we last met. Nineteen years ago, you did not dare to answer me then, but now you.." Arthur said, Jessica cut off.
"I never thought I could escape your clutches and from that moment on I always thought I was dead, I had nothing to fight you and not for a second thought I would fight you... you may destroy me, even my life I am willing to take right now but I beg you for one thing." - Jessica knelt down and pleaded before Arthur, seeing Jessica kneeling suddenly Andrews stood up and stepped foot several times to get close to Jessica.
Tension began to occur when Jessica knelt before Arthur, look sad face of Andrews for Jessica's actions but behind him there are two wives who tried to hold Andrews step with a face full of emotion. But the two women could not hide like they could not bear to hold back their laughter of Jessica's helplessness, Marrie who was also not well received by the Gates family was like being able to feel what Jessica felt at that time.
"Sarah is your granddaughter. She has suffered enough to never know who her real father is. Forgive him and let him live a quiet life..." sounding clear Jessica said it, her tears fell so profusely soaked the marble floor.
Naomi who heard Jessica's words instantly squeezed Jester's shoulder so tightly, she said, so do Jester and William who seem to hold back emotions but they both know there is nothing that can be done at a time like this. Denying and helping Jessica now will only make matters worse, even if it goes against their conscience but both Jester and William can only be silent.
"Sarah. I've heard his work ethic, his attitude, and his way of thinking. It's appropriate for Gates' blood to flow in his body, but it won't change my intention to destroy those of you who have opposed me!" arthur refuses Jessica's request
"Grandfather! this is too much!" snapped Jester arrived - suddenly chimed in Arthur's clash, the clash made all who were there turned their eyes to look at Jester.
Jester's bravery overshadowed his grandfather with a surprise clash of all, and, Marrie and Naomi are two women who are so anxious about Jester's actions because they feel all of Arthur's sons are only able to be silent about whatever the actions of Jester's grandfather. They were afraid that Jester's actions would aggravate the current situation, while William did not expect his only son to have the courage to oppose his grandfather. The thing that William had avoided and preferred to leave his extended family, while it was good Andrews, was, Philips and their wives could only remain silent with shocked expressions at what Jester had done.
"What did you say?!" arthur asked Jester in a pressing voice, William turned to look at Arthur because of his instinct as a father to protect his son.
"I said it's outrageous!" jester replied again impressed not afraid of Arthur's pressure
"You know what you just said young Gates?" ask Arthur again
"Do I look drunk in front of Grandpa?" jester asked back with insinuations, Arthur smilingly looked at Jester.
"No, but I feel you don't understand the situation young Gates" Arthur replied with a smile looking at Jester
"I understand the situation, I also understand what grandfather wants me to do. Don't telephoto anymore, just assign it to me immediately" Jester chimed in with a slight snatch, Naomi's hand squeezed Jester's shoulder again and whispered back.
"Jess... You want to destroy Sarah? he's our friend..he's also Luna's friend..don't do this. please.." Naomi stammered and trembled, but Jester fluttered and continued to stare at Arthur sharply.
"Destroy Arielle Corp and I'll give you my blessing to marry young Miss Scott" Arthur said
"Well, grandfather can't.." Jester said, Andrews cut Jester's words emotionally.
"You can't destroy Arielle Corp!! my son is there!!" he snapped with emotion
"Ooh... Finally my uncle is talking too, since when did uncle arrive - suddenly dare to talk?" asked Jester with insinuations, Andrews was increasingly emotional made Jester.
"Young man! you are too arrogant!!" snapped Andrews to Jester
"Grandfather, I'm going to face Sarah who is my friend and then I'm going to face my own uncle and Sarah's mother. How could I possibly carry out your duties against a powerful person in the Gates family?" jester asked slightly, Arthur was silent for a while but still kept staring at Jester sharply.
"You...!!" andrews was cut by Arthur.
"What do you want young Gates to do?" arthur's question sounded calm and flat, Jester smilingly looked at Arthur with a meaningful smile.
"I need my father and my mother to help me" replied Jester firmly, William and Marrie was surprised by Jester's request but both still seemed to dare not to say anything in front of Arthur.
"Why them?" arthur asked curiously, Jester's smile making Arthur frown at his forehead trying to figure out what Jester was really thinking.
"There's nothing else I can trust to help me, however the parents are my only support as a child" Jester calmly answered Arthur's question, the two of them stared at each other with their own expressions. Arthur knows this is a trap but he cannot think and guess what Jester wants, Jester really cannot be predicted by Arthur.
"I'll give you more people" chirped Arthur broke the silence instantly, Jester's smile changing with a look of astonishment. Arthur picked up a bell at a small table just to his right, Arthur shook the bell and the sound of bells echoed throughout the room. Shortly after someone came in from the door where Andrews, William, and Phillips had entered, Julius was seen walking up to Arthur and standing right next to him staring at Jester and Naomi.
"Grandfather!! wait!" somewhat shouting Jester called Arthur, Arthur immediately stopped his steps without turning to look at Jester.
"My job is just to make this family company number one right?" jester asked to confirm Arthur's orders
"Arielle Corp has long-term contracts with various famous fashion brands, there is no other way you can do other than destroy it so that the family company engaged in the same field becomes number one. Isn't that clear enough for you young Gates?" with pressure Arthur said it
"I just want to reinforce your orders" casually and weightlessly Jester said, Arthur smiled back at Jester's carefree reply.
"Surprise me young Gates, I have high hopes for you, Son of William" Arthur muttered and walked back to the room, Phillips stood up and approached his wife, who had been standing in the back and immediately walked out of the room.
There was Jester holding Naomi, Jessica kneeling in the middle of the room, Andrews and his two petrified wives there, William who stood up and walked up to Jester followed by Marrie, and Julius is still standing in his place.
"Naomi... is safe" Jester chirped to Naomi in a soft-sounding voice, slowly releasing her arm circles on Jester's boat and moving from Jester's lap.
"Cool look, son!" william said with enthusiasm and pride to Jester, but Jester looked at William with an annoyed face.
"What was that? why is it a vegetable chicken?" jester asked with insinuations, William immediately embraced Jester tightly
"As for my son, papa can't possibly argue with your grandfather right? papa is a dutiful child" William chimed in a voice that sounded very happy to see Jester's appearance in court this morning, Jester was silent looking at William who was next to him still looks upset.
Suddenly the sound of "Plak!!" was heard!!" which was loud enough to echo throughout the room and make everyone stare at the source of the sound. Seen Jessica brushed Andrews's hand off quite violently as if she had turned down Andrews' hand to help her stand up, Jessica's actions at the time shocked Marrie.
"Enough..you don't have to care about me anymore." joked Jessica then she stood up but still lowered her head when faced with Andrews.
"I.." Andrews said, Jessica cut it off.
"I don't want to hear anything from your mouth from now on, it's enough you've made me suffer Andrews Gates. Don't make Sarah take away our sins!!" jessica snapped with emotion, she turned around and left Andrews and approached Jester who was still sitting in her chair.
"Young master Jester Gates I.." unfinished Jessica said, Jester cut straight.
"Call me Jester alone Miss Arielle" said Jester flatly, Jessica was silent for a while while staring at Jester.
"Destroy me and let Sarah go. I beg you.." Sarah immediately knelt before Jester, saw Jessica kneeling making Jester, Naomi, William, and Marrie surprised. Immediately Marrie raised the body of Jessica who was kneeling while crying, Jester immediately squatted in front of Jessica.
"Mrs calm down first, don't kneel like that in front of me" Jester said frantically.
"Sarah does not know what - what..this is purely my fault..please do not involve him...I beg you.." sobbing - sobs Jessica said to Jester, jessica's roaring voice left Jester puzzled as to what she was acting like at the time. Slowly the look in Jester's eyes stared at William without a word, but as if William knew what Jester wanted.
"Let's get out of this place" William said firmly
"Wait!" a bit of a snarl Andrews said, but Julius's dull voice caught everyone's attention.
"Ehem, Mr. Andrews, please leave them. I was assigned to give all the facilities and remove all the distractions to the young master of Jester" Julius said as he walked to prevent Andrews from approaching Jester.
"But.." Andrews said, Julius cut down while bowing in front of Andrews.
"Pardon Julius sir, please leave us" Julius said, Andrews immediately turned and walked away from the room. As soon as Andrews came out, Julius turned to look at Jester.
"We're moving, it's not nice to have a discussion in such a stressful place" Julius said politely and calmly
Jester stood up from his squat and then took Naomi to leave the place, followed by William and Julius behind Jester, then Marrie followed by embracing Jessica who was still crying to move places. In a room that looks luxurious with a sofa - a sofa that is neatly arranged and also decorations that are so aesthetic, the aura - the aura feels different from the previous room.
On the sofa Jester and Naomi were sitting next to each other and Naomi was seen leaning her head on Jester's boat, while William was sitting alone staring directly at the faces of her children, Marrie and Jessica sitting next to each other, and Julius was seen standing near the exit of the room. Before long four maid-clad women came in and served warm tea to all of them, as soon as the four maid-clothed women left the room.
"What's your plan, son?" asked William to open the conversation, Jester then turned to look at Julius who was still seen standing in front of the exit with a perfect attitude.
"Sir Julius.... Whose side are you on?" jester asked slightly pressing, Julius calmly looked at Jester and was silent for a moment.
"I Julius have been working for great master Arthur Gates for over thirty years, I would never betray great master Arthur Gates" Julius replied calmly, Jester sighing for a moment.
"I need you to help me, I have a way to live up to Grandfather's expectations but I can still maintain my friendship and not destroy Arielle's family. Is that gonna make you report my plans to Grandpa?" jester asked with a little pressure and hoped Julius would help him, Julius was silent looking at Jester.
At that time not only Julius who looks astonished by the words of Jester, but even William, Marrie, Jessica, and Naomi also look surprised to look at Jester. So quickly Jester finds a way to fulfill Arthur's wishes, but he also confidently will not destroy Jessica and Sarah.
"Julius heard nothing" Julius chimed in with an implied smile of pride, Jester smiled then looked back to the front and patted his hands together.
"Okay!! let's beat grandpa!!" jester excitedly said it, William also smiled proudly looking at the son alone puppet.
"Thats my son" murmured William proudly.
