The Story of Reynand and Cleo

The twilight had changed the night, the sunlight that was today bright had also changed with its dark starry-looking sky. Very beautiful for October which this week has always been muddled by rain and drizzle. The universe even knows that if there is a heart at peace, there is a heart that is trying to take back destiny and pick up its happiness.

Who would have thought if the love that was thought only always made a wound, but now feels starting to bloom again. The wheel is always spinning, as powerful as it is to control it, if it is time for him to turn, then everything can definitely change.

Pain that is always felt also will not be as long as it exists, although happiness cannot be achieved easily. There are still many steep stones that must be passed to achieve happiness as in every prayer.

This October, was the first October for Nara and Reynand after twelve years ago. The first October where there was no hatred and misunderstanding. This is their first October to start over.

Nara's smile was a beauty to Reynand. Reynand's smile was a joy to Nara. Things they must always unite if they want to reunite.

"I miss your madeleine" Reynand said.

Nara smiled at Reynand. They're in the back yard of Reynand's house. Sitting together looking at the night sky is quite bright, accompanied by a cup of warm tea made by mama. They had just finished dinner with the three of them, while Zelina had yet to return home from work.

"Tomorrow I'll make it" said Nara

"really?" ask Reynand. Nara nodded and smiled.

Reynand turned his face and looked up where so many stars formed a beautiful constellation.

"If time could be reworked, maybe our story wouldn't be like this instead" Reynand said.

Nara sighed and looked back at Reynand.

"Until when are you going to rely on the word 'may' Rey??" ask Nara

Reynand smiled and turned to Nara.

"Until I can make amends for all my mistakes with you" Reynand replied

"You made it up to me" answered Nara. Reynand nodded.

"No, not a bit yet. All I do is fix what I've broken and I destroy. But until now I haven't made amends for my mistakes with you in the least" Reynand replied.

Nara remained silent and looked at Reynand fixedly.

"If I can make you happy, maybe this guilt will be a little less" Reynand said.

Reynand looked back and took a deep breath.

"Do you want to hear my story?" ask Reynand

"About Cleo?" guess Nara.

Reynand snorted a smile and nodded.

"Four years ago, maybe more if it were counted now, at a nightclub, it was where I first met Cleo" Reynand began to tell the story. While Nara was still silent and waiting for the next story, while her brain immediately knew where the night club was meant by Reynand. The club was a nightclub owned by Cleo's mother's best friend.

"Grandfather who just died in an accident made me so sad and devastated, because since I was a child I have lived with grandfather more often, especially since I finished High School, my life is only with grandfather."  Reynand sighed deeply and exhaled slowly. He looked back at Nara and smiled faintly

"I was very drunk, and it was the first time I was drunk alone without anyone. I could not go home because my body was no longer able to hold my head that felt heavy. And at that moment, Cleo was the one who helped me. He took me to his apartment with a man. But..." Reynand seems to stop the story, making Nara more curious, but her mind has thought about things that are not now.

"But when I woke up I found our bodies without any clothes." Reynand's expression stunned Nara. But he was not surprised, because what he thought must have happened so far.

Reynand looked at Nara with a guilty look.

"I don't know why it was, but Cleo's been asking me to take responsibility ever since. She didn't ask me to marry her, she just asked me to be her lover. I was confused, but since she also never showed anything strange, then from then on we were in a relationship as lovers. Her comforting and warm enough attitude made my heart and eyes blind, I was lulled and became accustomed to her presence in my life. Especially at that time I was in a bad state. The responsibility is getting bigger because suddenly papa asked me to take care of the company alone. And Cleo she was always there to accompany me, until I finally got used to and did not see your presence, coupled with her claiming to have a deadly disease made me feel compassion and guilt" said Reynand.

Nara bowed with her heart back clouded. He again imagined how the day that Reynand spent with Cleo behind him.

"Nara.." call Reynand as she grabs Nara's hand gently.

"Do you believe me if I said I never did that with Cleo???" reynand's question made Nara instantly frown in wonder. Isn't that impossible??

"I know you can't believe it. But that's the truth. I'm a jerk and a cruelty to you, but really for God's sake, as long as we're married, I don't touch Cleo even if I'm with her a lot" Reynand said.

Nara looked at Reynand.

"Initially I didn't want to touch you either, because I knew I married you for being forced to. But.. I want to prove something" Reynand said back. Nara still remembers, if Reynand touched her the first time it was at the age of their marriage almost a year.

"The inexplicable feeling of having finished doing that with you is still always I remember. And it made me realize that the night I was drunk, I didn't do anything to Cleo. But I also don't know why we could wake up without a single piece of clothing. I didn't feel anything after waking up either" Reynand said.

"Is this really what you're saying?" nara asked still so amazed

Reynand smiled faintly and nodded as she rubbed the back of Nara's hand and let go. He looked back to the future, imagining the time again.

"When you're gone, I just realized everything. If for two years we've been married, you're where I go home, when trouble always makes my head almost break, all I'm looking for is you. And when I'm tired, your smile can distract everything"

"I was rude and cruel, not because of my guilt towards Cleo, but I was covering my heart to not fall in love with you, because at that time I was still always looking for the whereabouts of my little sister who I left under the yellow tree." said Reynand, his eyes still looking far ahead.

"I don't like to see you so close to other men, I get jealous when everyone looks at you with admiration. Especially with Bimantara, I'm really jealous." Nara snorted a smile and shook her head while wiping away the tears that arrived dripping down.

"My own love has blinded Nara's heart. I crushed you to make you give up and no longer work, but in fact, you gave up and left me" Reynand said with a laugh that sounded bitter and poignant.

"I really regret everything" Reynand looked at Nara.

Nara shook her head and smiled, if Reynand said it was true, then she was truly happy, even though the pain she had to feel before.

"Don't cry anymore" Reynand pinta rubbed Nara's face.

"I am a fool, so please teach me to be the man you want me to be. Because really, life without you, it makes me stupid and crazy" Reynand said.

Nara smiled and nodded.

"You want to take me back?" reynand asked a little hesitantly, because after all, for now it was an inappropriate time to ask about this.

"I want to, but when you've recovered and solved all your problems" answered Nara.

Reynand immediately smiled happily, she increasingly tightened her hand grip on Nara.

"I promised Nara. I pledge. I will make amends for all my mistakes by making you happy for the rest of my life. But after I avenge all their deeds" said Reynand.

Nara smiled and nodded, replying to Reynand's hand.

"I love you Nara" Reynand said

"I know" answered Nara

Reynand laughed and nodded.

"We're in, it's been quite a night" asked Reynand.

"Yes, but your wheelchair is inside" Nara said, pointing to Reynand's wheelchair, which her mother had placed in the corner of the house.

"It's okay, I'll try to walk, you want to help?" reynand Pinta.

"All right, come on" Nara asked.

Nara immediately stood up and extended her hand before Reynand. Reynand gently grabbed him, while supporting his body with his already healthy left leg. He began to step slowly with a slight ringing in his face.
