Giving Up Among Overlooked Love

A black metallic car drove at high speed through the streets of the capital that was quite blistering in the afternoon. The sunlight was so bright, but the light was also as if it wanted to burn anyone who passed under it. I don't know, last October was always rainy and overcast but this November, everything seemed to change so quickly. Hot, arid and worn out.

Reynand drove his car into a luxury housing that he had not been to for a long time. The house that was once his stopover, and the house that always adds to the wounds in Nara's heart. Today, Reynand will meet Cleo. He wanted to find out about Nara, wasn't Cleo a close friend of Nara's once?? It's obvious she must know something about Anara. Not like Reynand who has been married two years, but at least he does not know what about his wife. Really really outrageous.

There is nothing that Reynand is trying to do right now other than just Nara and Nara. How could the girl hand over the company so easily to him. Is it because of how upset he is with Reynand that easily Nara switched the company on his behalf. Really, Reynand really felt more guilty about the woman. No longer important Adidaksa company, all he wanted was an apology from Anara Polie. Even though he knew it would not be able to make up for all his mistakes. Reynand only thinks that everything she's been through must be because of the pain she's been giving Nara.

Reynand pulled her car over in front of a caffe, only halfway through, but she found a sight that made her a little surprised. Cleo and a man just got off a fancy car.

Reynand followed them into the caffe with a wall of glass on a busy day. Do not know why, but his footsteps seemed to want to follow and see what Cleo's relationship with the man in the mix.

What was clear was that some of their conversations made Reynand feel stuck. He sat right behind Cleo who was only blocked by thick black glass so as to disguise his existence.

"So how is your relationship with Mr. Adiputra?" ask the mixed man. Looks like a blend of Western Indonesia, pretty handsome.

Cleo sipped her drink and shook her head slowly. He looks indifferent but a little restless. Don't know what he's thinking. However it was quite capable of making Reynand so impatient to want to know what Cleo was going to say next.

"What do you want to know, you know our relationship is over" Cleo replied

"Is it because he is no longer the president of Adidaksa?" ask the man. And Reynand could hear the cynical laughter from the mouth of the woman who once filled her day

"Otherwise, he's too arrogant. And now he is getting his karma" Cleo replied trivially. Reynand instantly closed her eyes with tightly clenched hands. That word really pounded his heart firmly.

"Isn't he your lover you've always been proud of, even you've always turned me down because of him" the cynical man

"Oh come on Brian, even though I rejected you, but I had more time with you instead" Cleo said. Reynand's eyes immediately squinted at her hearing

"Well, even so I don't like it. You just think of me as an impingement" he said annoyed. And again Cleo's laughter again sounded in her ear

"Not now anymore?" ask Cleo. The man named Brian immediately clucked at his sight

"Hmh, I've been waiting so long. And now it is enough that you perform again" he said.

Reynand frowned, theatricalized??? What theatricality??

Cleo nodded and re-stirred her drink

"Well, three years with her is quite boring right. I'm tired, and now it's enough time. Although it was not as planned," Cleo replied

And again, Reynand back sculpting. His chest instantly rumbled looking forward to what Cleo had actually planned. Are all of Nara's words true? Is he going to get an even more painful reality now???

"You're sneaky, yeah but I like it" Brian said, and Cleo smiled

"Sometimes everything has to require cunning. You know my rival is Anara Polie, and if I don't play the part, then I'll lose her" Cleo replied

"But you are so cruel, even though Nara is your own close friend" said Brian

"That's because he bullied me. If he is silent and does not interfere, then he will not suffer, let alone bleed out" Cleo replied

And really for whatever sake Reynand really made confused with Cleo's statement

"You made such a big play, even for three years. What grand plan did you make, until now I never knew. Even when Mr. Adiputra was married to Nara, you were seen to be quite thin. But now, even you who left him" said Brian

Cleo sighed deeply and looked at Brian intently

"Are you so foolish as not to be able to decipher it yourself. Who wants to be with someone who has nothing left" Cleo replied trivially. Making Reynand again close his eyes tightly. Is this the character of the woman he defended long ago????

Brian laughed and nodded

"Yes, all because of treasure" Brian snorted. Reynand's hand was clenching her hearing

"Just this time I looked at your subtlety, you were willing to hire a doctor and some medical personnel just to get the man's attention. Even with his heart you throw away your own friend's blood"

"Don't be rude Mr. Adiputra" exclaimed Brian who also stood up

"Jawab Cleo" Reynand snapped so forcefully that all the caffe visitors were shocked and looked at them in confusion

"You've been lying to me all this time ha" growled Reynand who directly scooped Cleo's chin violently. Truly for whatever sake, Reynand really did not expect what he was listening to today

"What do you mean, I didn't lie to you" Cleo cried with all her might

"Take him off" Brian immediately threw Reynand's hand off Cleo's face and pulled the woman behind him. Cleo trembled in fear and hid behind Brian. He did not expect that Reynand had heard all of their talk. But, since when was Reynand here?

Reynand immediately hit Brian's jaw firmly to make the man slammed and hit the table next door. Cleo and everyone who was there instantly shouted in fear. Especially Cleo

"Rey, enough!!! You are wrong, why are you angry like this, you have betrayed me!!!!" cleo shouted as he helped Brian to get back on his feet.

Reynand's breathing rumbled looking intently at Cleo who was helping Brian. He no longer looked at the faces of those who saw them with a sigh. There are even some who recorded the incident, a former president of Adidaksa rampaged in a cafe when he saw his lover with another man. News that will be trending today.

"Tell me what you said earlier. What do you mean by killing him slowly" asked Reynand again

The look in his eyes made Cleo really scared. Reynand used to look at her in the shade, but now, she was like seeing a monster in Reynand.

"Cleo, don't tell me that you've been cheating on me all this time" Reynand asked so softly. Even her red eyes were now glazed with glass

"Jawab Cleo" cried Reynand. He wanted to pull Cleo again but Brian directly blocked her

"If so, why?" exclaim Cleo pula. Of course he did not want to be blamed, let alone see the gazes of everyone who was there

"He's trying to take you, he's trying to take you, so do you think I'll just shut up?" cleo was so excited

"I won't stay silent much less for a traitor like him. All the blood he took out was paid for what he did" Cleo said heartily

Reynand immediately leaned on the table so limp. He nodded with a frustrated face

"You don't know how cruel I've been to treat him all this time, and you have the heart to deceive me Cleo" Reynand murmured with a downcast look. A drop of her tears fell back, tears of regret that she could not make up for, and every moment her regret grew. Especially now with his newly accepted reality

"That's what I want" Cleo replied cynically

Reynand looked up, looking intently and resentfully at Cleo, the woman he defended with his stupidity. Why he never knew if Cleo was lying, why he never realized about Cleo's state. Why Cleo was able to play the charade so much that Reynand believed and even tortured Nara so cruelly. Nara is the one who is really sick. But the truth is, it was always Nara who he hurt and he drained her blood so vilely.

"Cleo, I've always been kind to you. All your wishes I have always followed. Everything Cleo, all. My treasure and love. But is this your reply?" reynand asked so painfully. It's not painful for Cleo's betrayal, but it's poignant for why she couldn't realize Cleo's lies until she couldn't see Nara's love.

"I've got what I want. And all that requires sacrifice" Cleo said. He immediately pulled Brian's arm to leave. Reynand immediately blocked it. Pulling Cleo's arm so firmly that it made the girl grimace again

"Let's go Rey" cried Cleo

"I won't let you go, you have to pay for what you've done" Reynand lamented,

"Tell me where Nara is now" exclaimed Reynand, not even heeding Brian trying to pull Cleo's arm

"I don't know" cried Cleo who was still in pain

"Say!!!!" reynand shouted so strongly

"Maybe he's dead." Cleo immediately threw Reynand's hand

Reynand's jaw hardened even more, his raised hand wanting to hit Cleo made everyone scream hysterically, but Brian immediately caught her hand

"Don't try to touch Mr. Adiputra. You are no longer valuable, and if I report you then you will end up in jail" Brian threatened

"I don't care" Reynand replied

"Mr Reynand, I beg you enough" came a young man, a new caffe manager, who had just arrived after being notified by his employees

Reynand snorted, and still looked intently at Cleo and Brian

"Sorry sir, excuse me" Brian immediately pulled Cleo's arm away leaving Reynand who had fallen back into the chair

And again...

His regrets are getting worse...
