The First Place to Meet

That afternoon, on the road that has always been a sweet memory of its own for Nara and Reynand. The road has changed a little since twelve years ago. Where once only a rocky road, now it has changed with paved roads that are so smooth.

The little street where they first met was twelve years ago. While Nara was still a very beautiful Junior High and Reynand a handsome young man full of smiles.

It has been a long time, and for some people there is certainly nothing to remember on the street near the Junior High School which has now begun to stand grandly.

Nara and Reynand are now just walking down the streets that began to be quiet in that afternoon. While remembering the sweet period that only happened for a moment, but always stored in memory.

"I remember, when my little sister cried in fear and looked at me so hard" Reynand said.

Nara snorted a smile and looked down at her footsteps.

"His scared face is adorable. Especially when he forbade me to leave" Reynand added.

Nara turned to Reynand at a glance and shook her head slowly, looking back to the front where the yellow tree where they had been shelter was not far away.

"Twelve years ago, not a short time Rey. Everything has changed, both this place and us. It's not the same anymore" answered Nara

"Hmm. You're right. Even my love has changed no longer as it used to be" Reynand said.

Nara turned to Reynand

"The more days, my love is always increasing. And of course it's not the same as it used to be. Because now I feel like I really love you Nara. I can't even count how deep I feel right now" Reynand said. His eyes looked at Nara with clinging.

But Nara even snorted a smile and shook her head slowly.

"Is that an appeal?" nara asked with a funny smile.

Reynand smiled as well

"I'm not good at seducing. And I'm not a woo. It may sound like a poet, but it is the reality" Reynand replied.

Nara nodded immediately.

"Yes, your face has always been flat since long ago. But different, you used to be a handsome young man full of smiles. If now, you have turned into a haughty man who is as arrogant as ever" seduced Nara.

Reynand laughed at hearing that.

"That's the demands of the profession dear" said Reynand while pinching the wrath of Nara's nose.

Nara smiled and turned her slightly blushing face away. The affectionate call of Reynand still always makes her misbehavior.

"Again, we used to have no burden at all. All we think about is school and play. Not like when we grow up and grow old like this. There are many responsibilities that we have to bear. Didn't you???" ask Reynand.

Nara immediately agreed.

"Yes, you're right. Sometimes, if I could turn the clock around I would love to turn to that age. An age where I am not alone like this" Nara murmured with a heavy sigh.

Reynand smiled as she grabbed Nara's hand and gently grasped it. Now they walk hand in hand towards a saung that still remains under the yellow tree.

"I just miss my parents Rey. This city is a city that remembers my memories with them" Nara replied.

"Before we get married, you can take me to their mahkam Nara" Reynand said.

"They won't upset Rey. Especially those of you who still want to remember them" said Nara

"Don't do that, I'll remember them. Because of them you can exist in this world. And I have to thank you for that" Reynand replied.

Nara snorted a smile and bowed.

"Don't be sad anymore, you have to remember you have me now. Yes, even though it's actually quite late I said that" Reynand sighed heavily.

"It's never too late if you want to change" Nara said

Nara just smiled and nodded. And not long after, they had arrived at the roaung which was right beside the road under the kemuning tree. I don't know why this saung is still standing here. Although the appearance and shape are different. But he was still standing under the same tree.

Even Reynand directly walked towards the yellow tree that he always went to first. Look at the tree trunk that is getting old and fragile.

"Nara see" pinta Reynand.

"What's wrong?" ask Nara

"Look at this, the writing is still there" Reynand said, pointing to the old tree trunk.

Nara's lip line was immediately attracted to form a very beautiful smile when she saw a carving that began to wear out on the tree. Although it has faded, it can still be read.

"You made it Rey?" ask Nara

Reynand chuckled and nodded.

"I still remember it. The day after our meeting I came back to this place. Waiting for you here. But somehow you didn't come" Reynand replied.

Nara was silent

"I guess you didn't go to school because you were scared, but for years, you never came back" Reynand said, looking at Nara, who had changed.

"Even I've been to your school. But they say you don't go to school anymore. Where you???" ask Reynand again.

Nara breathed her heavily. It was the most difficult time of his life, at which time his father was hospitalized because of the illness he suffered.

"That was Rey's hardest time. It was the moment my father lay in the hospital." replied Nara. Reynand immediately looked at Nara with sadness.

"He must be treated for having the same disease as me, end-stage kidney cancer. And at that time I didn't go to school because I just wanted to accompany my father in the hospital because of his critical condition."

"Not long after he was in the hospital, just a few days. He couldn't hold out for long, and finally chose to give up. Dad died and left me and mom" Nara said.

Reynand rubbed Nara's shoulder gently.

"I really don't know. What after that you left?" ask Reynand.

Nara nodded slowly, they walked towards the saung and sat together there. Looking at the quiet afternoon. Only on highways crowded cars and motorbikes passing by. And it's pretty far out of range.

"After my father died, my mother took me to Jakarta. I also went to school there. Starting a new life that feels so different. Especially since the mother married Mr. Baskoro" said Nara.

"I thought Mr. Baskoro was your real father" Reynand said. And Nara immediately shook her head.

"No, she was just a mother's assistant back then, but over time they liked each other and ended up getting married" Nara replied

"We are one city. But you're not looking for me. It is fitting that I never see you here again, it turns out that you are in the same city as me" said Reynand.

Nara smiled faintly and nodded.

"I don't even know if you're in Jakarta either. All I know is that you live here. And in Jakarta I just focus on my school. Until I finally knew you when Cleo introduced you to me at that time" Nara said.

Reynand was seen sighing heavily.

"And it's stupid of me not to realize that that beautiful woman is you" Reynand murmured.

"Rey. What happened I forgot about it. I don't want to remember that time anymore. Don't you want to replace those bad memories with more beautiful ones??" ask Nara.

"I'm just so sorry for what happened" Reynand murmured.

Nara grabbed Reynand's burly hand and grasped it gently. Reynand smiled and immediately returned the hand.

"With that, your love will be stronger. I just gave it a chance for the last time. Because I've been so ashamed of God for asking for anything again, after all I got. Long life, and also your love" said Nara.

Reynand further tightened her grip and looked at Nara in a clingy manner.

"I won't waste what I got Nara. Your love and your healing are everything to me right now" Reynand said.

"I want to make up for all my mistakes by giving my life to you, my love and everything I have" Reynand said.

"I just want your love and your health too. We are not the same now. Only live with one kidney" said Nara

Reynand smiled and nodded.
