Telaga Bidadari

Once upon a time, there was a handsome young man. His name is Awang Sukma.

Awang Sukma wandered into the middle of the forest. He was amazed to see the variety of life in the forest.

He built a tree house on a very large tree branch. He lived in the forest in harmony and peace.

After a long stay in the forest, Awang Sukma was appointed ruler of the area and got the title “Datu” .

Once a month, Awang Sukma toured his territory, and he arrived at a clear lake.

The lake was under a shady tree with a lot of fruit. The birds and insects live happily there.

“Hmm, how beautiful this lake is! This forest has incredible beauty,” said Datu Awang Sukma in his heart.

The next day, when Datu Awang Sukma blew his flute, he heard a bustling sound in the lake.

On the sidelines of the pile of broken stones, Datu Awang Sukma peered towards the lake.

Awang Sukma was very surprised and surprised when he saw 7 beautiful girls playing water.

“Could they be angels?” awang Sukma.

The seven beauties were unaware that they were being watched and ignored their shawls used for flying tools, strewn around the lake.

One of the shawls is located near Awang Sukma.

“Wah, this is a good chance to get one of those shawls,” muttered Datu Awang Sukma.

After taking one scarf close to him, Datu Awang Sukma immediately ran to hide back. But when running accidentally he stepped on a dry twig.

“Krak”

Hearing the sound of dry twigs breaking, the girls were shocked and instantly took each other's shawls.

They hurriedly flew away leaving the lake using their magic scarf.

But there was a girl who could not find her shawl. He was abandoned by all his sisters.

She was so scared and sad to be left alone.

That was when Datu Awang Sukma came out from hiding.

He pretended to accidentally pass the lake and asked what happened.

The youngest daughter told me about what she was going through.

Initially the youngest Princess was still hesitant to accept Datu Awang Sukma's hand. But because there was no one else, and he had started to fear being alone, then there was no other way but to receive the help of Awang Sukma.

Datu Awang Sukma admired the beauty of Putri Bungsu. Same with the youngest daughter.

He was happy to be around that handsome and dashing young man. Eventually they decided to become husband and wife.

A year later a beautiful baby girl was born and named Kumalasari. The family life of Datu Awang Sukma is very happy.

However, one day a black chicken climbed into the barn and scratched the surface of the rice barn.

When the youngest daughter tried to chase away the black chicken. Suddenly his eyes were fixed on the bamboo tube located in the rice barn.

When the tube opened, Putri Bungsu was shocked and cheered.

“This is my scarf!” The youngest daughter is crying. The magic scarf also hugged her.

The youngest daughter was disappointed with the husband who had lied to her all along. But on the other hand, she also loves her husband and children.

The youngest daughter finally decided to return to Kahyangan.

“Now it's time I have to go back !,” he said to himself.

The youngest daughter immediately put on her shawl while holding the baby.

Datu Awang Sukma was stunned to see what happened. He immediately came and apologized for the act of secretly hiding Princess Bungsu's shawl.

Datu Awang Sukma realized that separation is inevitable.

“Kanda, please take good care of dinda Kumalasari,” the youngest daughter told Datu Awang Sukma.

“When our son misses me, take seven candlenut seeds, and put them in a wiggling basket. I will definitely come to see him soon,” said the youngest daughter.

The youngest daughter who had put on her shawl, then flew to Kahyangan.

Datu Awang Sukma was saddened and vowed to ban his descendants from raising black chicks which he considered disastrous.

The bath of the youngest daughter and six other angels later known as the lake Bidadari.
