Sandhekala

Once upon a time, there was a randha (widow) who lived with his son named Sentot. They live on the edge of a forest with a livelihood as goat breeders. The goats they worked for were numerous and fat. Every two weeks some of their goats sell to meet the needs of life.

Because they live on the edge of the forest far from the residential area, almost every afternoon Mbok Randa always remind Sentot to enter the house before sandhekala or twilight time arrives. Usually, once reminded Sentot will immediately obey and enter the house following the orders of the mother.

Once upon a time, because it was too busy looking for grasshoppers for bird food, Sentot was reluctant to be told to enter. Mbok Randha then tells why before sandhekala people should be inside the house. He explained that every dusk arriving Den Bagus Sandhekala will come out of his nest to find food. He likes to eat the heads of living things, ranging from tigers, humans, and even small children who are still outside the house at dusk.

Hearing the explanation, Sentoto's mother became scared to death. He immediately ran into the house. Arriving inside he peered through the sidelines of the bamboo woven wall to see if Den Bagus Sandhekalau around his house. He and Mbok Randha actually do not know that from the direction of the forest there are two creatures that are stalking the goat pen. They are a large tiger on the west side and two burglars on the east side of the cage.

As long as the tiger was inside, it was the second turn of the thieves that since the afternoon also lurked in the cage. The tiger who had eyes alert was of course half-dead surprised to think that came was Den Bagus Sandhekala. He only fell silent stiff and resigned when Den Bagus Sandhekala ate his head.

On the other hand, in complete darkness the thieves began to fumble in search of the fattest goat. After a while they found one that was three times the size of a typical goat. They did not know that it was a tiger who was silent stiff in fear and was resigned if his head would be eaten. The tiger that was thought to be a goat was tied up and then put in a sack.

Arriving in the middle of the road is rather bright both astonished to see a goat in a sack of furred. Investigators have a search turned out that the waded is a tiger. They immediately threw away the sack and ran away to save themselves. Because it was still dark, one of the thieves fell into a latrine while his friend fell in a muddy pond.

While the tiger who was left for a moment was stunned and did not understand why Den Bagus Sandhekala threw it away. After realizing that what he put in the sack was a human, he could only grumble while walking into the forest. He forgot his original intention of stealing Sentot's goats.
