The Bird and the Bethet
It is said that in the time of Prophet Sulaiman there was a famine season.
The cause is many diseases that damage crops so that food is difficult to obtain.
One day, a Bethet bird was about to circumcise its young.
Betet did not have the money to buy the skullcap and sarong.
Therefore, Bethet then went to the market to sell his own rice.
In the middle of the journey, Betheth met with a giant bird.
“Where do You want to take the rice?” gelatik.
“I'm going to the market selling my paddy to buy sarong and skullcap. I want to circumcise my son. This is all I have. The rest is eaten with disease.” says bird Betet.
“Pause for a moment, I happen to need rice. I want to see your pad is good or not.” said the Spark.
The Bethet bird lowered its pad.
Tik..tik.tik sound of birds gurgling and flipping rice.
Gelatik bidding rice at a very cheap price which of course rejected by Betet.
Actually the bird has no money, so he cheated by pretending to flip through the rice when in fact he ate the rice.
“What are you doing Dark? Why do you eat my paddy?” shouts Bethet annoyed.
“I don't eat your paddy, I just check if you got sick or not?” gerdik Refutation.
The Bettens were angry with the cheater attitude of the Gelatik.
Betet gripped the trunk of the neck and then he pulled as hard as he could until it appeared flat.
The bird thrashed in pain.
Immediately he smashed the pikulan bar of rice into the beak of Betet until the beak of the Bethet bent down.
This is the origin of why the Bett has a downward bent beak and the Bell has a teleh around its neck. Also read The Sparrow and The Parrot.
