Mr. Mendong And Mbok Mendong




The family of Mr. Mendong is very poor.


Because of their poverty, they often do not have the money to buy food.


Called Mr. Mendong because his daily job is to make a mat of snarling.


Aided by his wife, they made mats to sell to the city.


They have a young son named Sumi.


The child's body was thin due to lack of food.


Clothes tattered.


They lived in a small hut with a narrow courtyard.


One morning, Mr. Mendong woke up and told his wife that he dreamed of meeting his great-grandmother.


His great-grandmother told Mr. Medong to hold a penduri inviting the poor by slaughtering the Ox.


“Mbokne, I dreamt of meeting my great-grandmother. He told me to have a pitcher slaughter an ox and invite the poor. I'm rattled. We are poor like this, where do we get the money to hold a pitcher? Is our house for sale?” said Mr. Mendong.


“What good will our house sell? Our home is small.” said Bu Mendong.


“Begin' with Mbokne. What if our Sumi pawns a while to the rich man in the village? If we have money later we redeem again.” said Mr. Mendong.


Finally pawned his son, Sumi, to the rich people in the village.


The money is used to buy cattle, rice, cauldrons and other sagging purposes.


Once everything was ready, Ms. Mendong immediately cooked for a punt.


They then invited the poor to their homes to enjoy a meal.


Because Bu Mendong is good at cooking, then in a short time all the dishes run out unceremoniously.


Many of the villagers were astonished, from where Mr. Mendong could hold a pitcher while they were known as poor families.


After the sagging, the poor have all returned home.


Stay Mr. Mendong and Bu Mendong sat dumbstruck sad to think about how to redeem their favorite child, Si Sumi.


How wonderful Bu Mendong saw the cauldron looking radiant glittering.


Upon taking a closer look, Bu Mendong was surprised as it turned out that the contents of the cauldron were filled with gold and silver.


“Pak...Sir...Look at our cauldron filled with gold and silver out of nowhere!” yelled Bu Mendong.


Mr. Mendong was surprised and very happy to find his quality full of gold and silver glittering.


Soon Mr. Mendong sold some of the silver gold to the village and the money from the sale of silver gold was used to redeem his son.


Not long after the villagers were thrown into an uproar with the family of Mr. Mendong who was suddenly rich.


There was a rich but miserly person who was curious about the origin of Mr. Mendong's wealth.


He then asked Mr. Mendong about his wealth.


The honest and innocent basis of Mr. Mendong, without hesitation he and his wife told how he could get his wealth from beginning to end.


After returning home, the rich but miserly was soon preparing a massive sagging.


He hoped that by holding a pitcher for the poor, he would get a lot of gold and silver like Mr. Mendong.


The miserly rich man then went to the market to buy an ox.


You miser, he bids cows for too cheap a price.


He failed to buy the cow.


The miser is not out of sense.


Go home and slaughter his pet dog.


The meat is cooked for the sip event.


The poor were invited to their homes to enjoy their cooking.


But by the will of the Almighty, during the recitation of the prayer, the dog that had become a side dish, miraculously came back to life and bit the miser.


The people who attended the penduri were frightened and ran off the ridge leaving the pitcher.


Only the miser felt the pain of being bitten by his own dog.
