A few years later,
Zefanya smiled seeing Ezra along with the twins. Picnic near the lake. This summer is like a thicket of shrubs and greenery. This is a great time to relax and enjoy the food in the open space. While enjoying the blue sky, picnics become one of the favorite agendas of their small family. Ezra can unwind, while Zefanya and her children enjoy their togetherness.
"Where is the star?" asked Louisa curiously. Last night the sky was clear and Ezra showed them the constellations using a telescope. The man likes to introduce new things to his daughter by looking directly at the object.
"If daylight is not visible, dear." answered Ezra while pulling Louisa to sit on her lap.
"Why?" ask Louisa again.
"Because the sky is clear. Stars are always in the sky day or night. When the sun shines, the sky is so bright that the stars are not visible. At night the sky is dark, so we can see the stars." Ezra explains to three-year-old Louisa. At his age, curiosity was high.
"Beautiful, Dad?"
"Hm-hm."
"What-like?"
"Like the daughter of Daddy.. , like you, Sweeheart." cried Ezra while tickling Louisa's stomach who immediately laughed amusedly, her voice crisp and cheerful.
"Forget, Daddy. Let go. "the door is between laughs.
"I don't think it's like Louisa. The star is pretty and quiet, if Louisa is so noisy."
Ezra stopped her hand tickling her daughter and turned to her first child. Louis was sitting on a large wooden bench, muttering as he stared straight at the lake. His expression was serious as if he was busy thinking about the matters of the country.
Ezra smiled then patiently responded to his son. "Your sister is not noisy, but her curiosity is high. He's happy to learn a lot."
"Well, isn't it? I'm not noisy. I am good and also... " Louisa squinted her eyes while twisting the ends of her hair.
"And also?" sahut Ezra while smiling. This little girl loves to talk and is adorable.
"It's very, very barbie-like" she answered confidently, not forgetting to lift her chin with both hands around her waist like a super model.
Ezra was blown away, he pinched the soft nose of Louisa. "You're beautiful like your mama!"
"Mma is prettier than Louisa!" chirped Louis still with his flat face. Contrary to Louisa, the boys rarely spoke and tended to be serious every time they put out words.
Zefanya could only keep her mouth shut, holding back laughter while listening to Ezra's debate with her twins. Because of his stupidity, he almost lost moments - beautiful moments like today.
"Yes, Daddy once said that mama is the most beautiful in the world. Isn't that right, Louis?" Louisa chimed in, her frown mimicking Ezra's words every time she was alone with Zephaniah. Just like other young children, they love to eavesdrop on parents' conversations.
"Yes already, yes already. Mama is beautiful, Louisa is also beautiful. The women in this house are all beautiful." Ezra relented, free to argue against women. He couldn't stand up to this cute, smart little girl.
"Yes!" Louisa gave her thumbs up in front of Ezra's amused chuckling face.
"Mama's face is similar to Grandma's, meaning Grandma is also beautiful right?"
The four of them simultaneously turned to the origin of the voice earlier. A soft and familiar voice. The Zefanya immediately scoured and kissed Aunty Laura's cheek happily. Her aunt came today to meet an invitation to dinner from Ezra tonight.
Aunty Laura smiled and extended her hand to Louisa. "Grandma misses you, My Lil Girl."
"Grandma brought chocolate?" asked Louisa who was collecting the promise from Laura Aunty. The woman went on holiday to Switzerland and promised to bring lots of chocolates to her beloved grandchildren.
Louis, who was usually cold, was now afraid not to be part of it. He approached his sister and grandma. "What does Grandma bring for me too?"
Laura Aunty's smile grew wider. "Don't worry, Boy. Everyone will get their share. There's a lot in Grandma's bag."
"Grandma where's the chocolate? tagih Louisa again.
The little girl looked in wonder at the palm. Their mother's aunt had brought her hand, but she saw nothing in her hand.
"There's in my bag. The waiter brought my things to the room. Do you want to come to my room to get your presents?"
The twins eyes widened. Enthusiasm is there.
"Come on!" sahur the twins were in unison, spontaneously they grabbed Aunty Laura's hand. One on the right and the other on the left, they walked away from the lake to the house.
Zephaniah stood leaning on Ezra's shoulder, wrapped his hands around his wife's waist. She turned to her husband and said, "They are perfect children. Healthy and smart."
Ezra nodded and smiled, she tightened her embrace. The taste of haru rushes to see their babies who have grown into cute children and his wife is still at his side. Together they watched the growth of the baby.
"They're absolutely adorable. I love them so much." said Ezra softly, his gaze following in the direction where the little twins walked while occasionally jumping.
Zefanya laughs. "You're right, they're very funny" he said with pride.
Ezra nodded and looked at Zefanya's pretty face. "Thank you for giving birth to those smart, cuddly children. His smarts are down from me and he's following you." he said with a smile.
Zefanya scrunched the tip of her nose. "Just kid!" protest, pura - pura angry.
Ezra was blown away when he saw the expression of his ungodly Zephanya that was very similar to Louisa when he was sulking. He glanced at the children who had increasingly moved away with Aunty Laura.
Ezra pulled Zefanya's chin with his fingertips and leaned his head towards his wife, giving a romantic kiss by the lake.
"I love you, Zie... "
"I love you more, Ez... Thank you for continuing to defend our marriage."
...~ THE END ~...
