Don't Want to Split
Chapter 52 - Brother And Sister

"Where did you get that story?" auntie Laura asked, her eyes narrowed full of probes.

"From my father of course."

"No, Zie. You must be wrong."

"That's right, Auntie. Dad said it himself before he closed his eyes."

Auntie Laura's forehead wrinkled and the woman snorted. "I think the amnesia you're suffering from has messed up your memory."

"I'm speaking the truth, Auntie."

"But you even fled to the Maldives with Ezra when news of your parents' accident came. You did not have time to meet your father because he died on the spot, while with your mother you still have the opportunity to talk to him even if only briefly. All this time, I thought the reason you ran away from the mansion was because you felt guilty about getting married was silent."

Zefanya shook her head. "My father was Benjamin Halley and he told me about his affair with my mother."

Auntie Laura jerks. He held his chest while shaking his head. His mouth was open but without making a sound, it was obvious that the gray-haired woman was composing a sentence to convey to her nephew. There's overlapping information here.

"Wait a minute, Zie." Auntie Laura said softly after calming down.

"So Benjamin confessed to you about his per-se-ling-kuh?"

"Yes." answered Zephaniah grievously.

"Then do you think you're his son?"

"Mr Benjamin said that I was his son, Auntie." Zephaniah was quick.

"Then, is my conclusion correct? You want to run away and end your marriage because you think Ezra is your older brother. Rightly so?"

Zefanya. "of course. Marrying my brother is a sin." he said.

In between those silent atmosphere, his eyes caught the change in expression that was emanating on his aunt's face. There was a sad look, haru, relieved, all seemed to mix into one there.

Auntie Laura shed tears and hugged Zefanya. "Honey, Benjamin was in critical condition. He did not even recognize anyone who came to visit. Why are you so stupid, Zie?"

Auntie Laura's reaction made Zefanya so worried and began to doubt. Lest Ezra's suspicions be true, his father was just raving. A pile of assumptions and possibilities began to gather in his head. Then the next sentence of Auntie Laura made the young woman paled.

"This is what I don't like about you, Zie. You conclude things too quickly when you face a problem, then act impulsively. Why don't you ever ask me?" regret it while wiping away the tears dripping on the cheeks. "Princess Benjamin isn't you but your brother, Louise."

For a moment Zefanya gaped with a look of disbelief. "Lou - Louise? Holy jeez!"

Zefanya. "How can you?" ask him in a daze. Guilt began to ambush her who had treated Ezra unfairly. He even refused Ezra's request to take the test simply because he believed Benjamin too much.

"First, when your family's economy was still fit. Your father was too busy working and Benjamin was also lonely because his wife was sick. There are 'needs' that are not met by each other's partners."

"Oh my God." murmured Zefanya without knowing how to respond.

"Their relationship became close because your mother worked in a charitable foundation and Ezra's father was the biggest funder there. They often connect, then meet and pour out their hearts. Unknowingly they got closer and fell asleep then the result of their actions was your brother."

"I can't believe it, Auntie." said Zefanya.

"I can't believe it either. But my brother admitted his guilt while kneeling before your father to beg for mercy."

"Then how did Papa respond?"

"Your father is very big-hearted, Zie. He forgave your mama's guilt on the condition that she never see Benjamin alone again. At certain times, they brought you here with the intention of getting Louise to know her real father. After all, they are father and son."

Auntie Laura sighed. "I understand how your father, Zie, feels. She has absolutely no intention of favoritism, but her subconscious loves you more than Louise."

"So Mr Benjamin's children no one knew of this scandal?"

"none. Not even Louise. I also don't know if it's necessary to tell her about this or not" Auntie Laura said softly.

"Yes God... "

Zefanya closed her eyes, crying with mixed feelings. Sad and happy to be one. "On the one hand I was confused as to why Benjamin had said all this to me. Why not Louise? But on the other hand, I'm so relieved that Ezra and I aren't brothers."

Zefanya opened her eyes and looked at her twins, she was now smiling while crying happily.

"You should apologize to Ezra, Zie. He fought to the death - to survive with all your unclear attitude. I also saw for myself how he treated you in a coma. Quickly explain everything to your husband. Never waste a man as good as him, Zie." Auntie Laura advised at length.

Zefanya's shoulders decayed, her smile faded. His happiness turned tight, Ezra's face just came and went before him. Highlight eyes full of anger mixed in disappointment at their quarrel last time. His loving son eventually chose to stay away and did not contact him for days. It was possible that Ezra had given up on his stubbornness, regret now on Zefanya's chest.

"I have to go to Ezra and apologize to him immediately" Zefanya said quickly as she got up from her seat.

But a moment later, he remembered something. "But I don't know where he is right now, Auntie. Can Auntie tell me?"

Auntie Laura nodded in understanding. "Just leave the twins to me. I will take good care of them. Get ready, while I figure out Ezra's schedule."
