Don't Want to Split
Chapter 34 - Picnic

"Kids - children are very happy when invited to walk - the road by car. I'll take them to a more pleasant place. What say?"

Ezra is smart, he deliberately did not offend the problem in the nursery yesterday. That morning, the sky wasn't so bright when Ezra took them out to ride his car.

"I don't know what their favorite is right now, as long as they're comfortable I don't mind" Zefanya replied honestly.

From the windshield, he could see the twins looking elated by this trip. The two of them sat on a special baby seat in the back, Ezra driving his car at medium speed. Louis and Louisa chattering while biting - bite the toy given by Zefanya. Every now and then her little head looked out the window and screeched in delight. Maybe they like to see trees chasing.

"Where are we going, Ez?"

"As per our agreement, then we will spend the remaining twenty-six days by continuing together." replied Ezra with a satisfied smile.

Zefanya. "Are you really not going to tell me?" zefanya asked, unintentionally using the sulking mode she used every time she wanted to know Ezra's secret.

Ezra laughs. "It's no surprise that I'm telling you now."

"As far as you are. The important thing is not to make them cold."

Zefanya looked back and fixed the hats of the children's sweaters to keep warm. The body of the twins is wrapped in trousers that blend with the leg cover, so that only their tiny faces will be visible. Just in case, Zefanya has prepared a change of clothes and other warm clothes in their bag.

"Calm down, it's not far from here. It's not an hour's drive then we'll get there."

Zephanya scrunched his forehead, not up to an hour's drive? But no time to think further, one of his children was already screaming in their chair. Zefanya's attention was immediately distracted, throughout the journey the young mama was preoccupied with taking care of their children.

Give them a quick snack, the next moment replace the diapers. Several times Zefanya cradle, hold or occasionally pet them whenever they start to get bored. He invited them to talk in turn. Every now and then he pointed out the window revealing the scene they were passing by. Outside, the sun was starting to fall.

From the corner of his eye, Ezra could see Zephaniah's busyness. Her little girl has now grown into a young mama and it seems that she enjoys her role in taking care of children. Unknowingly Ezra shook his head, how could this woman who seemed to be enjoying their togetherness even ask for a divorce. It's unbelievable.

Ezra stopped his car near a shoreline. Zefanya, with the twins on her lap, was flabbergasted to see the beauty of the beach that caught her eye. The sun had just risen at the horizon. Bright, bright and luminous.

Seeing Zefanya's astonished expression, Ezra rubbed her female head fondly.

"It's been a long time since we last went to the beach" Ezra said later. He shut off the engine and got out of the car, then walked around and opened the door for his wife and children.

"Come, down. We'll have breakfast there." Ezra pointed at a spot with his chin. Zefanya turned to the direction that Ezra pointed, there was a place that was more similar to a gasebo not far from their car stopped.

Ezra takes the backpack from the trunk of the car and grabs it, then takes Louisa from her lap.

The gasebo-like place was quite comfortable, there was a roof to shelter while they could sit while enjoying the view of the sea in front. Ezra took out the food from his bag. The cook has prepared roast meat, cheddar cheese, sandwiches, scotch eggs, pieces of fruit, scones and some other foods that can produce saliva.

Ezra put Louisa on the wooden floor, and then took a plate full of food for Zefanya, and then he took Louis so that his wife could enjoy the food in peace. Zefanya ate while glancing around wherever she could see. Ezra really knows his taste, he likes the atmosphere on the beach like this. Eating here made his appetite double, he devoured whatever was available on his plate.

"It's a huge bonus you gave the two nannies last night, Ez" Zefanya said. "I'm sure they're very happy to take it."

Ezra put Louis next to Louisa, he let them roll on the floor. After making sure everything was safe, Ezra picked up a piece of sandwich and bit it. For a while he enjoyed his meal without responding to Zefanya's words.

"They have been very instrumental in caring for my son and daughter during your illness. His services cannot be measured by money. But for the good of all of us, they are forced to find another job. They've gotten too close to the twins, especially Meilissa with Louisa."

Zefanya. "I totally agree. It was that closeness that made me envious of them." said Zefanya with glazed eyes. "But how else? The twins are so adorable, anyone would fall in love with them."

Ezra rubbed his children's heads one by one. "Yes. They are really the best. And do you know? I feel that I am the luckiest man to be their father. It would be even luckier if this family stayed like this forever."

Zefanya. For a moment he could not say - words, his eyes staring deep into the high seas there. The sea breeze blew, it was salty but also fresh. The air begins to warm with bright sunlight. This kind of atmosphere should be beautiful but it should stop immediately.

"Ezra... "

"Yes?"

"I called my sister Louise this morning. I hope you don't mind."

"Why should you mind? You are free to do anything in your own home." said Ezra quickly, deliberately emphasis on the word your own home so that Zefanya remember that they are still a family.

Zefanya's veiled message was conveyed, she exhaled slowly. He clenched his hands, bracing himself to once again say his wish.

"I mean, I haven't seen him in a long time and neither have my nieces. I miss them, so. I invited them to stay at the mansion." Say Zefanya again with heart - heart.

He knew that his wishes included outrageous. He asked for a divorce, but he still invited his brother to the mansion. Isn't this the same as using Ezra's kindness?

Covering his nervousness, Zefanya picked up a piece of fruit and bit him slowly. Her mouth chewed on the piece of fruit that was in her mouth, but her eyes were silent - silently glancing at Ezra waiting for a reaction from her husband.

Ezra's face was flat, unreadable...
