"I, Ezra Halley, take you Zefanya as my beloved wife, friend of my life, lover of mine and mother of my children, to have each other and take care of each other from today onwards, in hard or happy, when abundant or lacking, sick or healthy, loving and loving until death do us part. And here, I promise to always be faithful. Until death do us part."
Zefanya looked at Ezra Halley who was saying their wedding vows wholeheartedly. Ezra's loving gaze made Zefanya soar. Blissfully.
VROOOM...
The sound of a car roaring into the church where Ezra and Zefanya performed the blessing of marriage. Zevanya panic. His head turned back and forth, looking for Ezra but the man was no longer beside him. Where's she? The car was approaching them. Nah! The car was not heading towards them but was coming towards Zefanya. Yep. The car was chasing him.
In Zefanya eyes, the movement of the car was like a movie playing slow motion. His body was terrified and wanted to save itself, but his entire body was stiff, unable to move. No matter how hard Zephanya tried, as if there was a heavy object piercing him. He can't go anywhere. Though the car continued to approach and chase after him, panic, fear and anxiety surrounded Zefanya.
"DARK!" she panicked, hoping her husband would come and save her. Sweat began to cool down on Zefanya's forehead when she realized that coming out of her mouth was more akin to a squeak. How could Ezra hear it. Zefanya's eyes grew wildly moved, trying to find Ezra's figure. It is not usual for Ezra to leave himself alone.
TIIIN!!! TIIIIN!!
CKIIIIIT!!!
The sound of a car horn echoing long painful ears mixed with the squeaking sound of a car tire rubbing against the floor. Really deafening! Zefanya breathed a sigh of relief. The car stopped right in front of Zefanya's nose, her body barely spaced out with the brash car. Zefanya wondered, how could no one protest against the driver. It's church! And not the highway.
Just as Zefanya was about to reprimand the driver of the unethical car, a voice had already echoed first. "You can't be with Ezra anymore, Zephaniah."
The voice echoed in the quiet church room. Zefanya was looking for - look for the origin of the voice earlier, as soon as she realized that she was not in the church. This place feels foreign to Zefanya. He didn't recognize this room, there was nobody around to ask. No bouquets and invited guests will witness her wedding to Ezra. And where are they all? Aunty Emma and Gabriella are not. And the sad thing is that Ezra doesn't exist either.
Suddenly Zefanya tired. His eyes and body felt weak and powerless. He fell in a large room and the stranger closed his eyes and hugged himself.
"Ma moitie's... "
Zefanya hurriedly stood up and intended to open his eyes, but to no avail. It was as if someone was piercing his body and there was something strange with his eyes. No matter how hard you try, these eyes can't open.
"Ezra." call him again.
This is all he can do now, keep calling out Ezra's name. The man would never have the heart to leave her, Ezra would have found her in this strange place.
"I'm here, Ma Moitie." Ezra's soft voice sounded so close to her ear.
Zefanya turned around with her eyes closed, her hands fumbling - palpable. "Ezra." Zevanya whispered in a quivering voice, almost crying. He hates this situation, can't see anything. Why didn't Ezra come over and hug her?
The darkness was increasingly pervading his Zefanya, desolate and silent. No more warmth, he felt a cold creeping from the tip of his foot and continued to rise to the top. His body began to shiver in the cold, mixed with fear.
"I'm sorry. I don't want to say it, but you need to know this." A heavy and sinister voice came approaching him. The tone of intimidation felt so thick in Zefanya's ears.
And Zefanya eyes suddenly opened, she blinked her eyes many times to get used to the darkness. Once accustomed, Zefanya looked around. Still, he doesn't recognize this place.
There was a tall and large dark shadow walking over, he said something sinister. The spirit is frightened, the reflex goes backwards. Without thinking long Zefanya turned around and ran as hard as she could.
And it happened again, Zefanya can't move. No matter how fast he ran, he felt run in place. The figure continued to chase after him, getting closer.
"Ezra! Ezra!" He shouted, calling the man he loved so much.
"Ma moitie's.... "
Huh uh?! The space turned quickly. Yeah, no more wrong. Ezra called out to him but where is he? Why didn't he show himself? Zephanya's only desire right now, which is to meet Ezra, with the man she will be safe. The lover who has just become her husband will definitely always take care of her, just as he has been doing all this time.
Zefanya can't take it anymore. He screamed loudly. "EZRAAAA... "
A silhouette appeared, with light shining from behind him. A familiar and very close figure in his heart and life appeared. A well-built man in a suit he used to wear to the office.
Ezra stood there, with everything he had. A handsome face with sharp and deep eyes, his body was so dashing with both sturdy arms where Zefanya used to sway spoiled and what made her heart tremble the most was her mouth and lips. Especially when the voice called out to him with a feeling.
"Ma moitie." Ezra's two outstretched hands ready to welcome Zefanya. Zefanya's heart rate accelerated fast, she ran and prepared to scatter into Ezra's embrace.
SLAPS!
The terrifying figure appeared again, standing between the two of them. "You can't unite." the voice resonated, making Zefanya tremble. The young woman was glued to her place, seeing how the monstrous figure had covered the body of her beloved man with his body that was much larger than Ezra's. Then suddenly the figure disappeared with his Ezra.
Zefanya back alone, slumped and exhausted. Trying to strengthen his heart but his body was limp helpless. There's no power. He's outmatched. Realizing that Ezra could no longer be his, Zefanya's shoulders trembled and began to weep for her fate. In the depths of his heart, he wished that this was all just a nightmare. And it's gonna be over soon.
"Ezra, this is just a dream, right? When I wake up, I can still be with you, right?" lirih Zefanya. Tears melt on his cheeks. Ezra, lover, husband, love in Zephaniah's life. The only person who has always been in his future plans, now they can no longer love each other. Can't!
