Divorced for Poor

Divorced for Poor
Chapter 61. First breath

Nathan takes Naina, Lilis and Bu Siti to the park they used to visit. They left together by taxi. For the health of Lilis and her baby.

Naina is very happy to be able to go with her father, mother, and Mbah Uti. Mbah Uti sat down with Lilis while Naina and Nathan's father played on the swing. Naina sits on the swing and Nathan's father swings slowly.

"Lis, I see that Naina loves her father very much. Maybe he shouldn't even know that Nathan isn't his real father. He is still too small to understand what a real father and father are connected to," said Ms. Siti.

"Lilis knows, Mom. Naina is too small. Lilis will wait until she can tell the difference between a biological father and a stepfather" Lilis said.

"Hopefully Nathan will not change his attitude, and differentiate Naina with her sisters," said Bu Siti with a sigh.

"Lilis believed in Nathan. She will behave the same and will not discriminate Naina with her sister."

"Hopefully."

It was getting late, and they decided to stop by Lilis's food stall. Because no one cooks at home, so they will eat at the stall. After that, they just returned home.

Nathan is overjoyed when he first earns a salary from his hard work as a waitress at a restaurant. He was already impatient to want to immediately bring the money home and give it to Lilis, as his first living after getting out of the Sugara family.

Nathan didn't care when Wendi and Sri looked at him with a smile. Whether they ridicule or support Nathan, Nathan doesn't care anymore.

Time to get home from work. Nathan rushes home to see Lilis. His heart was filled with flowers of happiness. But when he entered the room, the flower in his heart suddenly withered. Lilis was counting money that was not small. Money to pay the salaries of the employees at the food stalls and money to shop the stalls. Also the money from food stalls that will certainly go into his pocket.

Nathan stared at the envelope in his hand with a sad heart. The money in this envelope was not worth Lilis's money.

"Mas, loh .. kok did not enter. Come on in here, come in."

Lilis' words startled her daydream. And Nathan smiled as he hid the envelope containing his salary instead of this. Nathan approached Lilis and sat down next to her. On the bed, have lined up the distribution of money that immediately inserted envelopes one by one. Lilis stopped her activities, when she saw her husband's face looked gloomy.

"Mas, what's wrong? Mas, sick?" ask Lilis worriedly.

Lilis hurriedly held onto Nathan's forehead and the other hand touched her own forehead to compare the temperature. Apparently, same. So her husband is fine. Lilis smiled with relief and looked back at the face that still remained the same. Droopy.

"I'm okay, honey. Just continue with your work" Nathan said, revealing his sweetest smile.

Lilis put the money back in the envelope. And the rest he put in a separate envelope and kept in a desk drawer. While the envelopes containing the salary money were put again in a large envelope and wrapped neatly and then stored also in the desk drawer.

"Mas, take a shower first and then just rest," said Lilis again sitting on the bed.

Nathan moved slowly intending to get up from his seat until Lilis saw an envelope from which her husband had hidden.

"Wait, is that what Nathan's hand?" ask Lilis.

"Oh, here. It's nothing, it's not important" Nathan replied nervously.

"Mas, I .. why suddenly my stomach hurts, mas," said Lilis while holding her stomach.

"Why are you, we're going to the doctor right away" Nathan said in a panic.

"It seems, it's because you're not being honest mas," Lilis said again.

"Certainly, but where can that be?" nathan was confused.

"Yes, mas. Therefore, if asked honestly, let his grandpa not sulk," said Lilis while looking at her husband deeply.

Nathan was silent at Lilis' words.

Nathan handed the envelope in his hand to Lilis. Lillis greeted him with joy. She hugged and kissed the envelope from her husband. Nathan seems confused, he should be happy or sad to see his wife look happy. Glad that Lilis was receiving money from her, sad that maybe Lilis was pretending to be happy.

"Thank you, Mum. It has given me a good living, from your hard work all this time. Lilis promises to make the best use of this money for our daily eating needs, so that it can be a blessing for our small family" Lilis said with a smile.

"You don't want to know how much it's got?" ask Nathan.

"Mas, whatever the number is, it doesn't matter to me anymore. The important thing is that there is an intention to provide for the wife and children."

"Thank you, my dear wife. I wanted to hug you but my body smelled sour" Nathan said with a relieved smile.

"Yes, take a shower first. Later just hug me," said Lilis spoiled.

"It's me" Nathan said, kissing Lilis on the cheek.

Nathan rushes off to take a shower after kissing his still-surprised wife with a sudden kiss from her husband. However, her smile broke because she felt her husband was more romantic than she thought.

Lilis stared at the envelope in her hand. Welfare which was really the result of her husband's hard work slammed the bones as a servant. Although Nathan knows, Lilis already has her own money, but as a husband she wants to show her responsibility while still giving a living. And Lilis really appreciated Nathan's attitude.

Lilis, come out to prepare dinner. She helps Siti's mother and Naina starts cooking. Naina looks happy to be able to cook with mom and Mbah Uti. Even if he does not help but make the kitchen dirty by cutting vegetables according to his own wishes.

Lilis and Ms. Siti just smiled to see Naina's actions managed to make their work increase. After she finished cooking, Ms. Siti cleaned up the trash with Naina. After that help Naina take a shower.

"Naina, help Mbah Uti clean the vegetables that Naina has cut. Tomorrow Naina can cut vegetables again," said Ms. Siti.

"Well, Mbah Uti," Naina deftly put the vegetables she had cut into pieces in the trash with the help of Mbah Uti.

"It's done. Mbah Uti help take a bath now," said Bu Siti while holding Naina's hand.

Lilis rearranged the cooked dishes into the container. Nathan, who had just finished his bath, approached him and offered to help.

"My wife baby, how can I help you?"

"It's finished, just put this on the table to eat. If you want to help, please," replied Lilis smiling.

Nathan put some food on the table. After that he came back to Lilis who was washing some dirty containers.

"My wife dear, if I don't fall poor, I will definitely hire a servant for you" Nathan said sadly.

"Mas, I don't need a waiter. I can still handle this homework. Anyway if I can't anymore, I can ask Ms. Surti to help, not every day either, Mas."

Lilis continued her activities without seeing Nathan's reaction. Nathan tries to help Lilis wash the container, but instead they joke with the water.

The happy atmosphere was witnessed by Naina and Miss Siti who had just come out of Naina's room. Naina smiles to see her father and mother remain friendly even in the kitchen.

"Naina, let's play outside for a while, while waiting for the Maghrib to arrive," said Ms. Siti.

"Bah Uti, Naina wants to join father and mother playing water" said Naina innocent.

"No way, Naina's still a kid. The game is the same Mbah Uti," said Bu Siti confused to explain the situation.

Naina still won't leave. Until finally Bu Siti offers a pack of ice cream if Naina wants to come out. Naina agrees but the buy must be now.

Naina and Ms. Siti go to the house next door to buy ice cream.
