Divorced for Poor

Divorced for Poor
Chapters 106. When the right talk for Lilis

The phone calls Nathan and Lilis to answer. They are busy sharing their morning duties. Lilis takes care of the children, while Nathan makes breakfast. This they did because Bik Nah today is on leave. They don't see a cell phone.

All work is done, the children are ready to go to school and breakfast is also ready on the dining table. They prepare to eat, until Nathan picks up a phone call that turns out to be from Wendi.

Lilis who wanted to call him for breakfast, listened to what Nathan was talking about with Wendi.

"Wen, what's up?"

"You picked up the phone for a long time? What's so busy in the morning?"

"Custom, the task of bik Nah who is on leave I hold."

"Well, I guess you're still in bed again lazy."

"Don't talk about bed this early. Did you say what was going on?

"Your grandfather is sick. He is now in hospital. If you can, take a little time to see Grandpa."

"Thank you for telling me."

"Together."

Afterwards, Nathan hung up the phone call from Wendi. His face looked gloomy and the memories of the past were clearly plastered in his eyes. Sadness, disappointment and longing mixed into one.

"Mas, let's have breakfast. The children have been waiting since, "call Lilis as if she doesn't know what her husband is thinking.

"Yes, briefly. I put the phone down first" Nathan replied as he wiped a drop of tears dripping down his cheek.

Lilis left her husband to the dining table. There his three sons were waiting.

"Mother, where's dad?" ask Naina.

"A little while, baby. I'm getting a call from Uncle Wendi. It'll be here soon, too" Lilis replied with a smile.

"Have you waited, huh? I feel like a celebrity, a lot of waiting" Nathan joked as he sat in his chair.

"Ih, Dad. We're waiting for Dad, because we're hungry. This is our favorite fried rice" Naina said.

"Naina why, can't make you happy. Say cake, 'indeed dad's like an artist'. That's very hard. Gini-gini I made your mother fall in love with you, you know?" nathan said as he looked at Lilis with a smile.

"Well, eat or talk. Mas, here I get the rice. Later change as usual from father first. Because the mother's hand is only two" said Lilis as she reached for the plate her husband gave her.

That's the habit of eating with Nathan's family. They make sure that in a day at least they can eat together 2 times. Breakfast and dinner time. Even if they can, they will eat together up to 3 times with lunch. Although it is rarely done.

After breakfast, Nathan goes to work while dropping off Naina and Wahyu at school as usual. Meanwhile, Lilis did her homework while looking after Flowers. This is what Lilis did when Bik Nah was on leave because there was a family interest.

Lilis still thinks of her husband's conversation with Wendi on the phone this morning. Her husband would never bring up Grandpa and anything related to Sugara's family to her.

Lilis tried to find a way for her husband to be discussed with her about Grandpa. Lilis knew, although Nathan was angry and hated Grandpa Edward, but still a grandson must have missed his Grandpa very much. But sometimes Lilis is afraid too, the events of her mother died will be repeated again.

But if we are afraid of what has not happened, it will make us backward and unable to move forward. How do we know it will happen if we don't try? Although the consequences to be accepted are very large.

As always, the best time to talk to her husband is when they are going to bed. Because it has become their habit, to talk first before going to bed. Even if it was just a few sentences, they would take the time to look for chat materials.

So, although sometimes if they had different opinions, there would not be such an event at that time. Silence, until seen by others.

"Mas, I'd like to visit mom's grave. It seems like a long time ago, we didn't go there. The kids will definitely agree with her mother's idea, too" Lilis said.

"Are you sure you want to go now?" nathan asked as he hugged Lilis's body which had since placed his head over Nathan's shoulder.

"Yes, sure. We can all go see Grandpa. How's Nathan?" tanya Lilis spoiled.

"If you've been so spoiled like this, how can I refuse him. But about Grandpa, I have something you need to know" Nathan replied.

"What's that?"

"Last morning, Wendi called me and told me that Grandpa was sick. Even so, I dare not tell you. I'm afraid you have a trauma to what Grandpa did to you" Nathan replied.

"Indeed, I once had a trauma on what Grandpa did to me. But, for the accident that befell my mother, I'm still not entirely sure if it was the actions of Grandpa's men" Lilis said as she tightened her husband's embrace.

"So you want to say, I was wrong?" nathan asked as he tried to take off his embrace.

Lilis firmly held both hands of her husband who was somewhat emotional because of her speech. They kept quiet for a long time. After her husband's emotions subsided, Lilis slowly released her husband's hands. Smiling, Lilis kissed Nathan's lips as an apology.

"sorry. Lilis did not intend to assume that Mas Nathan's decision was wrong. But, until now, we do not know who is behind the passing of the mother. Even the police did not find any evidence and considered it a hit-and-run case" Lilis said, explaining that her husband was no longer upset.

"Maybe you're right. I'm too early to conclude Grandpa's mistake. I was too carried away by the emotions and did not see that there was a possibility that it was not Grandfather" Nathan said with a sigh.

"Well, since now that Mas Nathan has realized all that, when are we going?"

"I do my job first. After that, we just determine when we leave," Nathan said as he looked at the happy-looking Lilis.

Lilis smiled happily and hugged her husband back tightly while whispering softly.

"I'm so lucky to have you, Mom."

"me too. I'm very lucky to have you. Not only can you make me happy, but you can also make me lead a better life" Nathan said.

"Children will surely be very happy to visit his Mbah Uthi tomb" Lilis said.

"Why can you be so kind to everyone. Even against people who have hurt you, you never have a grudge."

"Will the pain go away when we take revenge on the person who hurt us? I think, when we take revenge, the satisfaction we only feel for a moment. It can only reduce, not eliminate. Back to each other's choices. And I chose to heal my wounds by forgiving and trying to accept the life line that I had to live. Because of every wound, there will definitely be a cure. Though the former will never disappear."

"Every ill will have a silver lining. There will be a substitute. If Desta's good, we won't meet and get married. Have sweet kids. If the Revelation is not lost, your in-laws will take Naina from you. If your mother doesn't die, we're not going to this town and start a new venture with our own efforts. And it worked," Nathan continued.

"All sorrow will be replaced by God if we can sincerely accept as His destiny. Not we resigned, but we opened our hearts and did not blame God for what happened to us" said Lilis who then fell asleep in the arms of her husband.
