Lilis awoke from her sleep. His breathing is irregular. How could he have dreamed of Nathan. He never thought about Nathan too deeply. Some say, if someone goes into a dream, it means that we are thinking about that person right now.
Lilis was stunned for a moment, then she turned her pillow over so that the dream would not be repeated again. He grabbed the bottle of drink that was on the table then drank a few sips. Lilis sighed, then resumed her sleep. However, his eyes could no longer be closed.
Every time he tried to close his eyes, Nathan's cold face appeared. Nathan really made his plans fall apart. How not, since moving to the city of B, Lilis had already decided to focus on Naina and her efforts. But since Nathan's presence in his life, everything has changed.
Every time Nathan came to help her in the stall, Lilis' heart trembled. Her heart was beating irregularly, although Lilis could hide all that. But that feeling tormented him greatly.
Torturing in the sense of not being able to express feelings. Lilis did not think that she would forget Desta so quickly. More to think, she would easily fall in love with Nathan again.
Lilis could only blame her heart, which was easily touched by one's kindness. But isn't love different? To love and admire are two different things. If admiring is not necessarily loving, but if loving, it is certainly admiring.
Lilis wants to try to find out how she feels about Nathan. Love, or just admire.
The clock is showing at 3am. Lilis immediately got up from her soft bed to leave for her stall which was not too far from her house. Before leaving, Lilis awakens her mother for evening prayers.
Lilis is more able to perform night prayers since opening a food stall. Although sometimes there is a sense of laziness that perched in him. After her mother lived with her, Lilis had a passion for work and a spirit of worship, which God willingly could walk side by side.
Arriving at the stall, Lilis immediately began her cooking activities. From making vegetables to making side dishes and cooking rice. When hearing the dawn adhan, Lilis shrink the stove and then run the morning prayers in the stalls that give her a place to rest and pray.
That's how every day Lilis activities should be done. Sometimes there is a boredom that infiltrates his heart, which makes him lazy to work. But back again. Naina, all for Naina's future. Lilis did not want Naina to feel what she had once felt. Starving and working hard since childhood. Lilis wants to see Naina live a normal life like the other children. Play and laugh without burden.
Surti's brother came right after the dawn prayer and helped Lilis work. At about 6am, customers began to arrive to buy breakfast.
Because it's Sunday, Lilis closes early. Ms. Surti has gone home first after helping with cleaning up the merchandise and washing all the furniture. Lilis tidied up some dishes and bowls in her place.
"Assalamualaik."
"Wa'alaikum salam. Mas Nathan's. When it comes, what's up?"
"Just want to help you clean up. You're going on vacation with Naina."
Natha immediately helped Lilis tidy up the dishes and bowls beside Lilis. Lilis simply smiled in response to Nathan's reply.
"Assalamualaik."
"Wa'alaikum salutations."
Lilis and Nathan answered almost simultaneously. Galah came and was surprised to see Nathan was also in the Lilis stall. Lilis approached Galah while cleaning her hands with a washcloth.
"What's wrong, Galah here?"
"I want to talk to you for a second. Am I interrupting?"
"No. Let's sit down, ma'am."
Lilis invited Galah to sit in one of the customer's seats. While Nathan is suddenly upset because it turns out he has a rival. The competition is quite heavy, because Galah looks handsome and authoritative and classy. He must be a rich man.
"I heard you're officially divorced. So this time I want to talk again, about my proposal first."
"Master?"
Lilis pretended not to remember. Because he basically forgot that Galah was still after him.
"If Miss Lilis forgets. Today, I will be applying for Mbak Lilis again for the second time. I want to marry Mommy Lilis, is Mommy Lilis willing to marry me?"
"Ohuk-uhuuk..."
Nathan's coughing voice rang out quite loudly, when he heard Galah propose to Lilis to be made a wife. Nathan tried to hold back his upset because he lost the start. He should have acted first before anyone else got Lilis.
The sound of the plates clashing softly, but the sound was quite disturbing to the hearing of Lilis and Galah.
"Bak Lilis, how is it?"
Lilis was stunned for a moment, but she did have to give a firm and precise answer so as not to make Galah hurt.
"Look, Galah. Indeed, I have got divorce papers, but at this time I have not thought about getting married again. I want to heal my heart first. And I don't know when, I'm just gonna think about getting married again."
"It's not because of him?"
"Where could he be. He's a friend, just like me and Galah."
"Friends, where there are adult men and women there is a friend relationship. A man will not want to spend time and energy just for friends. He must have had other intentions that he was hiding. I'm a man too. I know and understand exactly what he's doing, just like me. Want to chase you."
"That's impossible. If Galah wants proof, I'll ask him directly in front of you."
Galah fell silent and only looked at Lilis with a look of disbelief. Lilis rushed to her feet and directly approached Nathan who was still tidying up the dishes.
"Mas Nathan, does Nathan like me?" ask Lilis to the point.
Nathan gasps at Lilis's question which he never expected would be so clear.
Lilis, what do you want to know about my feelings?
"Mas Nathan, am I waiting for your answer?"
"Where might I like you. Aren't we friends?"
I'm sorry Lis, I'm afraid to come clean to you. If you knew I loved you, you would have driven me out. Inner Nathan.
Hearing Nathan's reply, Lilis's heart was somewhat disappointed. I don't know what made Lilis suddenly sad, was it because it wasn't the answer that Lilis expected?
"Thank God, if Nathan doesn't like me. I can breathe a sigh of relief."
Lilis stepped towards where Galah was sitting. Nathan slapped his own mouth, having missed an important moment. If he had said yes, the results would have been different. Maybe Lilis will take it. But everything went awry because of his own fault.
"Mas Galah heard it for himself right, he doesn't like me. So, what Galah said just now is not true."
Galah smiled widely while nodding his head.
"She's so stupid" Galah muttered as she looked at Nathan. "Maybe I was wrong. Hopefully one day Lilis can find the right partner. I accept Ms. Lilis's decision."
"Aamiinu. Thank you, Mr. Galah. May Galah also find a good woman, who can make Mas Galah happy."
"Aamiinu. Thank you for your prayer too. From now on, I will not interfere with Lilis' life anymore. Excuse me to go home first. Assalamualaikum."
"Wa'alaikum salutations."
"Wa'alaikum greetings" Nathan replied softly.
Although Nathan was disappointed in him at this moment, his heart could still rejoice because Lilis had rejected Galah.
A guy like Galah he refused, let alone a guy like me, who was just a driver? Do I have to show you who I really am, for Lilis to accept me? Is she a woman who attaches importance to possessions and appearance? But he's not so. Or even after knowing who I am, he turned away from me?
"Mas Nathan, you put the plate wrong. It should be right there."
Lilis' words surprised him. Nathan smiled shyly.
"Sorry, Lis. I'm daydreaming."
"Hm. Dreaming of a girlfriend? It's home, samperin. Let's not keep daydreaming."
"Lis, let me take you to the park this afternoon" Nathan said expectantly.
"No, I'm afraid later when you drive you daydream of your boyfriend. Could be an accident later."
"I promise, I won't daydream."
"Well, considering you don't like me. I'm free to make you my driver for a while."
"I accept."
They laughed together in mystery. After everything is done, Lilis and Nathan leave the stall for Lilis' house.
Nathan begins an approach to lure Naina. For her, right now, Naina was her only hope of gaining Lilis' trust.
