Divorced for Poor
Chapters 11. Lilis gave birth

Lilis grimaced with enduring pain, pain immeasurable. She wanted to scream as her body was taken into the delivery room. Lilis mumbled softly, "is I going to give birth now?"

What Lilis felt, more like signs of childbirth. Lilis felt a very intense contraction. Like what he read on Google.

The contractions it feels are a little bit similar to cramps during menstruation. The difference is, these contractions feel several times heavier than menstrual stomach cramps.

Lilis also felt her stomach like a bloated stomach. Which makes Lilis very uncomfortable. The feeling of flatulence is not subsided even Lilis like to waste the wind or defecate. Looks like labor is about to happen. Lilis still did not understand because this was a first for her.

By the time the baby is born, the contractions that Lilis feels are getting stronger in an effort to push the baby out of the womb. Discomfort spreads to all parts of the stomach, ranging from the front, right and left of the stomach, to the back. The lilis stomach also feels hard when the contractions and pelvis feel like they are pressed.

Lilis felt the intensity of the pain getting heavier and the shorter the distance. Lilis also feels the more intense the pain, which may signal the time of delivery is near.

Lilis continued to endure the pain and she felt like she had to fight for her baby. Lilis was reminded of Desta, her husband. At a time like this, he's not here. But Lilis did not want to be sad and desperate. He encouraged himself, to stay even without Desta.

After such a persistent struggle, there was born a tiny and beautiful baby with a normal delivery. Without operation. Lilis let out a sigh of relief and her happy tears flowed slowly.

Now the problem is, who will say the Adhan and Iqamah in the ears of his daughter. Wendi volunteered to recite the adhan on the ear of little princess Lilis. Lilis looked towards the mother who nodded slowly, as a gesture of agreeing to Wendi's offer.

Finally, Wendi who did the task of Desta who is now out of nowhere. Finished reciting the adhan, Desta's extended family came to visit Lilis and her daughter. They were a step late, because the task of Desta accompanied the wife to give birth was instead taken over by others.

Although they were disappointed with Desta, but they were very happy, Lilis gave birth safely normally.

Lilis was immediately transferred to the inpatient room so that she could be visited by other families. Lilis' father and mother-in-law came and tried to comfort Lilis who was disappointed in Desta. When needed, Desta was completely unreliable.

"Lis, how's your body doing? Is it better?" tanya Bu Sri, Lilis' mother-in-law.

"A little bit limp, ma'am," Lilis replied softly.

"You're a mother now, Lis. Lis, your son is as beautiful as you are" said Lilis' mother-in-law with a smile.

"Yes, Mom. But, Lilis was confused as to whose name she wanted. Wait for Desta to come."

"Desta knows if you gave birth?"

"His phone could not be contacted. Either the battery ran out or it was deliberately switched off."

"Lis, forgive mom's son. Until he had children, he had not produced anything, even now he did not know where. If the phone is turned off on purpose, it's impossible. Maybe the battery is running out."

Lilis smiled sadly, Bu Sri did not know if Desta and him, had a big fight earlier this afternoon. Lilis also did not intend to tell Bu Sri about the actual condition of her household.

Lilis was worried that if her in-laws knew of Desta's behavior, they would be disappointed and angry at Desta. As long as Lilis could still survive, Lilis would accept everything even with a heavy heart, especially now that there were children.

"Yes, Mom. Did Mas Desta ever tell mom about his efforts?"

"Usaha? Looks like your father-in-law once told me that Desta was opening a business. But I don't know for sure what kind of effort. I'll ask your father."

"But actually the mother is also curious what business is so much to spend capital. Have asked for money several times for additional capital with his father. Also for your spending money, because the business has not yet produced."

"Mas Desta asked Dad for more money?"

"Yes, Lis. Actually, mom and dad feel sorry for you. How can you eat, if Desta has not had the results of the effort and you have also stopped working? Therefore, every month Dad gives Desta money."

Lilis let out a heavy sigh. Desta's been too much. Lilis' severance pay has been taken, still asking for money from her parents to feed the family.

Lilis was also curious about the business that Desta ran. After returning home, it may be time to ask for clarity from her husband. After this afternoon, he avoided asking to be honest with Lilis.

Lilis was still hopeful, if her husband would change. Still hoping to continue to maintain her already unbalanced marriage. Lilis always tried her best to continue climbing the household ark, while Desta seemed to be indifferent to this marriage.

Lilis did not want to feel wrong about choosing a partner. Wrongly recognize the husband, who is initially kind and responsible, turns indifferent and has no attention at all. Lilis was still thinking positively, if at the moment, her husband was busy working to earn a living for the family.

Especially after the presence of her little daughter, Lilis hoped that everything was in line with her expectations. When Lilis recalled that while she was struggling between life and death for the sake of giving birth to their daughter, her husband was by no means beside her.

In fact, the happiness she felt when she married Desta, was not as beautiful as Lilis had hoped. His heart had never felt calm and was always restless and suspicious. Even though he never told anyone, he always covered it up from others.

"Lis, mom and dad go home first. We'll try to find Desta, to come here soon," said the in-laws, awakening Lilis from her daydream.

"Yes, Mom. Pray that Lilis can come home soon."

"Mom will always pray for you, Lis. Tomorrow I'll come again."

"Lis, I beg you to be patient with Desta. Maybe because we always spoil him, so he has less responsibility. Usually he can get everything easily."

"Dad, don't defame your own child. Lilis alone never complained," said Ms Sri defended Desta.

"If you need anything, just tell me or mom. We'll help as much as we can."

"Yes, dad. Lilis understood."

"We're leaving."

Lilis stared at the departure of her father-in-law who was very good, even very good. Very different from her husband. They are also the ones who make Lilis survive because it is not easy to have good in-laws like them. If only, Desta had half the attitude and nature of her parents, maybe their married life would be better.

Hope is more fun than reality.
